Coming from a Nats fan who watches him every day, his defense is actually pretty solid. Now don't get me wrong, he makes a few boneheaded plays out there every now and then, but he isn't as bad as some people make him out to be.
When you have a POSTSEASON like he did....you deserve to be elevated. Nobody else in MLB hit 5 home runs the last postseason. And NOBODY did it at 21 like Soto. Oh and when you go deep TWICE off Gerrit Cole and take Justin Verlander to the upper deck I'm their own building- nobody cares about your Defense . And should be noted he only played 8 games in left field PERIOD before he got called to the majors. He had to learn that position in the majors.
