I remember when you first came out here, the young man & his dad wanted to do this, I don't remember how the young man passed on, but his father's LOVE certainly made it happen. thanks for being part of this Chris.
Same here. I remember the first time Chris came here to check out the pond too. They were both extremely excited to have Chris there. It's a shame and senseless how he passed. He was doing highway construction and a distracted driver came along. Glad Chris was able to help Scott and family to realize their dream.
Well Chris you've done it again. You weaved your magic and made Scott and his wife's dream become a reality. This is more than a pond this is a memorial to David. You are a kind and generous man Chris with a big Heart. Credit where credit is due. 💙❤👍
Chris and Scott, all I can say is that you two did one hell of a job on that lake. My heart hurts, not having David there to see how beautiful the lake turned out. Thanks for sharing, Chris. God bless you both
Well sir, one can never take the sting of losing a loved one away from another person, but, a friend can ease the loss a little by coming along side a friend and using the balm oil of the helping hand to acknowledge that loss, one cannot say anything to much to help, but the coming along side and doing and just being there doing, speaks volumes to heart. Thank you for a great little series that produced significant results both physically and spiritually. Take care gentlemen.
Hey Chris....you just helped finished the world's largest cat box! Just amazing the size of a pond with just sand ...way cool my friend! The color of the water is so clear once it gets all settled out!👍 He is probably a really happy camper to finally finish this project up👏👏👏
Love the video's when I was 18 I dug my uncles pond with his backhoe and trackhoe myself and he loved it I'm currently 20 and I'm waiting on a company I applied for to call back so I can run their heavy equipment I hope to be making my own videos one day keep up the great work.
Find a school near you that teaches heavy equipment, that way you will be able to work with equipment, other than a backhoe. Also with a certification you will start put at higher pay
Huge change and it looks beautiful. Master class LetsDig18 on how a professional business owner goes the extra mile to finished a project. Scott and Wendy can now look forward to building their dream home and gradually tidy up the edges of the lake. Loved it all.
You are a miracle worker when you have the right equipment to move dirt! And, you helped a friend accomplish a lot of work in just three days. Keep making the great videos.
Looks awesome. Thank you Southern Homestead Transformation for letting us take along. It has been a long journey but very interesting. Chris nice work and thank you for sharing this. Have a great week.
Chris, it is very cool that you helped him, you saved him several months of work at least that much if not more. Man that is a lot of sand. Must have been a sand mine back in the day.
Chris great job ,his son is looking down on his dad and smiling. Thanks for helping them complete a 4yr dream. You are a Remarkable young man.great vidoes. God bless
From Reading the other comments ,this is a real special you have done Chris ,I don't know the background story here May God Bless you for Pitching and helping Scott
Wow !! I know Scott is Happy with all that !! Man, you guys really made a Big difference all the way around it !! Still crazy just how much water was flowing out of there before you filled it the dam. Should fill up quick !! Wish you would have shown your stick, or whatever you put down at the edge to see how much it came up after filling in the dam.... But, I'm sure Scott will show it pretty soon , once it fills up some !! But, Great as always Chris !! Have a Great Evening, And, On too the next !!
Chris you have a kind heart! Your friendship with Scott is great. His love for his family is wonderful. You have special talents and the way you can help others is commendable. You have so many ways of doing things to get them finished and transformation is a work of art. I hope you know how good you really are! I'd better hush before you get the big head......😂. Thank you for your work. Take care and I'll see you in the next one!👍🙏❤️🇺🇲
Hey Chris, you are a real gentleman and friend. You help honoring his son a true act of the HEART. God bless and I love your channel . I wish I could tell you my 1976 high school excavator owner experience. I excelled in repairs, (not by choice). You are the master operator, and I know your really appreciate John. Thanks for the great content.
Scott, through the pain & sadness of losing David, I hope this beautiful lake can give you & your wife some peace. Great work Chris, you are a good egg😊🥰
The smile on Scot's face says it all. Good on you Chris. Sometimes just lending a hand for a short time can help bring back focus, hope and happiness for our friends. Be fishing 🎣 time real soon...
The earth sculptur came & seen the unfinished work of art & he delivered another work of art.I know it means so much for scott & I'm sure David is lookin down smiling saying you 2 guys did it ❤
Another great pond restoration project! How cool would it be if the Discovery Channel sent you, Justin and maybe Uncle John to fix up dilapidated ponds in various parts of the country (sponsored by Volvo of course). You have such a great work ethic and deserve all the success headed your way!
Nice job on digging the hole for the overflow pipe, you were cautious about the sand slump angle in the initial trench. Can't stop thinking you are going to be back at this job after the first hurrican passes through, repairing that overflow, but Customer is always right.
A great operator knows his soil types. Understanding this makes the job go easy even some soils are hard and compact like concrete. I was on our soils judging team in the FFA in high school. We took first place three years in a row.
Anyone else noticed @11:34, he called 12' 8". Now tell me that Man isn't Great at what he does, you left us hanging on the "Measuring Stick", I didn't remember where the little landmark "Island " was. Thank Scott for sharing this Adventure with us.
Good on ya Chris!! Not only is your head in the right place, but so is your heart. You’ve heard the expression “He’s good enough to make a silk purse from a sow’s ear”. Well, you get the Silk Purse award. I’d love to have lent a hand myself, but for me it’s close to a 9,000 mile swim and drive. I can only guess at how appreciative Scott and mother feel right now, but with what you’ve done, a whole lot of other people feel pretty good about it now. You’ve done good mate. Cheers
You made it look much better, even if it never fills up high enough to reach the overflow pipe. Have a feeling this pond may depend on the level of the groundwater to determine how deep it will eventually be since it's sand. Anyway, that was a lot of work for the little time you were there. Scott got a bargain for allowing you to stay there, lol.
Installing the Overflow Pipe - always a Fascinating Procedure indeed ! Blading the Banks with the Dozer and they look sooooo much Better - great Job ! The Drone Views of Before and After shows the Brilliant Job that was done - wow - what a Transformation - Congrats and many Cheers from Australia !!!!
Impressive work for just a few days Chris! Looks like the the next major lake project rally is going to be spreading some topsoil and seeding the crap out of it to help reinforce the banks.
Awesome job Chris, you’re help was surely appreciated! I could tell on Scott’s face and we all on utube think you’re just a saint for helping this family complete their dreams! By helping them with their son’s memorial and now their lake project, just shows what kind of amazing person you are my friend! Thanks for sharing brother and praying for Scott and his family! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 Have a safe trip home my friend, Kirk from Louisiana sending prayers for you and your family as well! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻👌🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Chris, you never fail to amaze me. You've shown us ponds/lakes that have used a variety of materials in dam construction, but I was really stumped to see a sand dam. Is there some natural-occurring binder that makes that particular sand suitable for a dam? I mean, with the exception of the canyon you had to refill, it looks like has held up okay, for the most part.
Gosh your super quick on the mini. I think the mini can load the dump truck quicker but no reach. God speed to you and your generous spirit. Saved him another year of work in 3 days.
@Letsdig18 I'm sure a lot the new followers don't know the full story about what happened or why your helping on this & i been following over 6 years & only know some of the story about what happened So it be nice to give everyone a short update on everything including the memorial ! Plus give a link to Scotts channel !
Yep, another fine job. He's awfully happy about that. I know some of these guys make their own videos on their work but I follow you cuz you have enough commentary to know what's going on and that's what's nice. Other than that, great job! Looking forward to your next one 👍👍🙂🇨🇦
Watching you dig in sand bought back memories of my days of operating a JD 300 back hoe here in Perth Western Australia. It’s all sand on the coastal plain and the amount of sand that little machine moved still amazes me.😮😮🇦🇺
What a fantastic job done by the pond master again just shows you what can be done when you know what you're doing what a fantastic thing for Chris to do for scott and his wife they throughly deserve it after all they been through great job well done 👏 ✔️
That’s sand and the way it’s laid in and around the beach area along it is going to awesome to walk around and enjoy the scenery David’s spirit will be there very nice lake i would say 👍😎🇺🇸NY

Fantastic job Chris. You always bring your top game. I’m sure Scott is over the moon with the finished pond/dam. You are a great friend. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
The way the flow was going out. Looks like this one would fill up faster than the bealy pond. Hard to believe sand would hold that much water. Pretty cool.
I hope his lake will fill up all the way. If he will put pond sealer on the dam it should help. It will be a beautiful lake if it does fill up. One thing is certain, he’s got a long sandy beach. If I was him I’d use riprap or concrete to create a dissipator pad on the overflow to keep the water from undercutting the pipe on the outlet side. I’ll be keeping an eye on his channel to get updates on the lake. I know he’s very appreciative of all your help over the last 4 days.
You are a good man, helping a man to find some comfort in his life after a tragic loss. All the best to ya.
Great job, his boy would have loved the final result
