I seen a comparison video with the og montage and the M and the sounds are difficult to compare but the game changer is the ease of control especially with my lack of musical knowledge 😂 Fantastic playing Sir ❤
Very nice introduction brother I can actually hear the real sound of the montage. You have some people play just demos only and you don't actually know what the real montage keyboard sounds like. Thank you very much.
While the playing is great, its more a showcase of your playing ability, than it is a sound test or demo. It would help if you told us if these sounds are native or performances you created. Most synths can create millions of sounds, but it would help is you indicated which ones are factory shipped, and what they are called on the unit.I looked at it initially as a demo/comparision to my Modx8
very nice playing! I returned the 8 for 2 reasons. 1. too big and heavy. 2. the action was inappropriate for a synth, for a piano it was entertaining. I ordered the m6 and m7, not sure which one to get? any suggestions would be helpful, ETA. end of DEC
thank you! I think I will get the 7.....the 8 was way too large and heavy and the aftertouch was very disappointing. im 6'5 and I had to press down real hard to get the aftertouch, not like on my tyros5 or pa5x..... they need to retool@@Genos2Music
I think the new GEX action key penalized key tapping for pianos. The piano on Classic Montage (Balanced Hammer Action) seems to sound better.Lacks dynamics, sounds too loud or too weak and even shrill. but what has Yamaha done? However montage M has sounds with the addition of AN which are nice
its always about the music: all the major keyboards out there right now sound fantastic....it's what we DO with those sounds that really matters. Nautilus, Fantom and now this Montage M: a triumvirate of amazing sounds! @@josh-bodnar
@@UFO-ArkIs money earned from music the only justification for owning an instrument of high value that inspires you to create art? Didn’t Vivaldi die in poverty? Is Beyoncé really all that talented compared to Tim Henson or John Petrucci? I’m pretty sure “Seventh Son of a Seventh Son” is a more impressive song than “Gangnam Style” or anything New Kids on The Block ever put out.
Good point. I guess I'm only seeing through my own perspective which is that I'd never be able to afford £3500. I didn't mean any offence. P.s. Im only curious if people do make money from music.
@@UFO-ArkIt’s so different now because of things like Napster and now Spotify. Bands don’t really sell 12,000,000 albums like Def Leppard in the 80s. From what I understand, most of the revenue made from Spotify goes to the record companies and bands gets scraps in comparison. I think bands charge a lot more money for concerts to make up for not selling CDs anymore. They also do paid meet and greets after shows.
I must admit, I’m following along on my MODX + and I hear the same thing. I mean I love Yamaha. Have the XF8 and the ModX+8. Sold my XS Rack. My go to piano is on my Nautilus. I was going to buy the new montage but it’s a hard sell for me. Maybe by the end of this video my mind will change. But piano alone is a definite no.
@@Steven-zg5bq A MODx or Montage or M and Tyros make a great combo. Espeically like the Montage M for the VRM Rotary (like the YC series) and all the Character Pianos. The stock DSP Rotary effects on the Genos/Tyros are just "ok". Admittably, quite a bit of duplication for sure, but love the MODX and Montage (M) for the FMX and granular customizations. Genos2 enabled the FM engine (already part of the chipset for years) but the price point is $1,000 more for the Genos2 over an MX8 and at this point in time the Genos2 has no FMX editing or VRM Rotary :(. Would love to see some customizable wavetable support for the three AN-X OSCs for the M series this or next year.
I really like my pa5x more than the genos2, although, the layout and user friendly has to go to genos. the drums on the genos and mixing styles are incredible. but the instrument sounds I have to go with pa5x, much more colorful screen too, not just the black and white on genos@@winddealer1
@@winddealer1 In my humble opinion, the AN-X engine is rather disappointing not only because of relying on traditional, fixed waveforms, but mainly because of 16-note polyphony. With today's technology, I think we should expect more from a flagship synthesizer, and in some demos I've heard rather unpleasant note stealing in AN-X sounds.

The best part about this is his playing. 😊
super playing! amazing variety from one person. No One Else has played with such breadth of music genre!
Great demo!

Awesome Thank You so so much for Sharing this Great Proformance Peace. I wish to be a Great Player like You
Very soothing music. Enjoying it a lot while working. Great performance. Thank you buono studio. God bless you
Great playing
Its a bread and butter synth, with a little extra performance stuff

very nice!
Great piece of hardware , I own a montage but can’t wait to upgrade to the montage M 😮
Evolutionary, not revolutionary. The AN-X engine has been available in guises for ages, and only 16 voices? GMAB
you are amazing
Fantástico
Its not montage its monster...yamaha one man show.you dont need a thing..i ma motif user...i wanna get one of these...👍
Super demo 👌🏻.... Pls do a video focussing on fmx patches (esp dx7 eps, bass n all )
Just ordered my Montage M7 today 😎
Wow👏

Still waiting for next gen korg kronos❤
nice playing good sounds, the keys look as if they are quite soft for weighted keys are they ? If they are that would be good for me !
Mine hasn't arrived yet, but other reviewers say that they are lighter than the original Montage and considerably lighter than a Fantom.
I need this in my studio 😅

Some distortion creeping in there from time to time... had to switch to headphones 'cos I was worried it was my speakers lol but same thru phones.
The nodding at 15:55. Yeah that sounds good!
15:56
Agree, Brian. X22GJP has to be that pedantic stooge in the corner.
How about some personal thoughts of the player here as of what he thinks of the Montage?
I made the same face you did at 41:58 😂
Agreed! some cool stuff!
Can you demo Performance mode and Sequencer Pattern / Song mode?
Need to show organs, Wurlitzers and fender Rhodes.
just returned my 8x....the action was great at times, at other times seemed sluggish and stiff
Hoping to see it in a used site somewhere so I can snatch it up for a discounted price. Thanks in advance, lol.

Is the FMX the same as on the MODX+ ??
Yes same FM engine ❤
17:15 a bit of distortion happening from the organ patch... is that from keyboard itself or due to the recording?
From the recording. The gain settings were too high for the patch. Sorry for the imperfection. ❤
Great synth, although the pads from the Kronos are better in my opinion.

I don't know how people make money from music to justify £4000 on just one item.. any ideas?

Not a lot of velocity layers in this piano. . . We often come back to the same tone
I noticed the same thing when I played the Yamaha yc88. Did not give me a lot to express myself emotionally. Sad because I wanted to like it
@@masonjahncke7844 Korg sv2 or Nautilus 88 (same piano I think, I try only Sv2) are really good for a large tonal variation / velocity.

keep my tyros too!

Improve piano sound 👍
Yamaha Fromage. Cheesey selections.
Very expensive piece of gear here. I don’t thin the price tag should be that high on these synths for what they are.🤨👎🏼
Get a midi controller and a digital sound library then.
Tem muita tecnologia mais não tem qualidade nos timbres
Can you actually play it 😂
