    Check its earthing weather it is properly earthed or not and also check check for any naked wire from the couplers also .
    Generally naked wires can be in the handle area because handle is constantly moving left to right so it might may scratch the wire

    You should replace the battery. A poor ground connection, weak or loose battery results in the RR unit running hotter than usual and might fail before it's lifespan!

      I have 17 year old pulsar. My battery was stolen after 2 years and decided ride it like that only. I got the battery installed after 1 month. By then the rectifier was damaged and died within 2 months. Which in turn affected the battery.. which died early. I was on college and always short on money. So this cycle went on till I replaced the rectifier and battery at the same time.

    Normally these issues happen, when we meddle with original wiring, like adding fog lights, new horns, even I had this problem, then I noticed, when RE service guys showed me the voltage output when they connected ecu with computer, there is slight drop in amp in alternator power generation, this happens when your standstill with engine off and ignation on.

    Bro, it's sad that this happened to you. I got mine in May 2019. Have had no battery issues so far. One of the things I did was in the second month itself I got a switch installed to manually control when I light came on. This has proved to be a life saver. On Darjeeling ride in Nov this year, as I was ascending, my bike shut down on me couple of times and the yellow engine light came on. What this meant obviously was me frantically hitting the start button. Had the light remained on, I am sure it would have taken a toll on the battery. The other thing is barring winters, I do not think we need a light constantly running and again remember it's a bulb not an LED. Anyways, hope this problem is looked into and sorted out soon. But worth exploring the option of getting a switch installed for the headlight. Peace

      Hi there Akash... I've owned a RC390 (2016) for about 2.5 years and honestly I personally never faced any issues with it - only visited the service center for regular servicing which was rougly 2,500-2,700 rupees (for a 43 bhp bike that's cheap).

    • @twowheeledparadox

      @Akash Paul LOL! Those are very minor issues with your Thunderbird! I have a 2012 KTM 200 Duke. The first batch had as many issues as the Himalayan did when that bike first came out. My bike went through the following in-warranty repairs within the first 1.5 years/14000 km:
      1. Rear monoshock replacement due to bad paint. Replaced.
      2. LCD console backlight started flickering and shut off. Replaced.
      3. Fuel pump pressure fell below spec and caused reduced acceleration. Replaced.
      4. Fuel pump mount points in the tank came loose due to bad quality casting or something. Replaced.
      5. Fuel tank cowl started cracking at the mouth due to heat from being parked in the sun. Replaced TWICE due to repeat occurrence.
      6. Oil started flooding into the airbox so the engine was opened THREE times! First time was at the second service to replace the cylinder kit as well as the coolant pump seal which had leaked coolant into the oil. Second time they completely dismantled the engine and wanted to replace the crankcase but I refused to accept their justification so they replaced the valves. Third time they installed a new revised cylinder kit but even that did not resolve the issue.
      7. They gave me a new airbox modified by the R&D team themselves to fix the oil flooding issue. That did not solve the issue.
      8. New 2013 manufactured engine which solved the oil flooding issue.
      The following repairs were made after warranty expired with my own money:
      1. Fuel pump failed again. This time it just shut off. Rs 4500.
      2. Thottle butterfly got stuck so I got an old used throttle body for 2000.
      3. Idling RPM starting fluctuating intermittently due to electrical issues. Got new wiring harness and voltage regulator/rectifier unit for 12000 and 2600 rupees respectively.
      4. Compression loss after the new engine had done 34k km or so. 15000 for a top end overhaul.
      5. Speedo zero issue - alternator replaced for 1500 or so.
      I am not going to count the three front alloy rims and 2 rear ones that have bent/cracked from road use. This was before I started using my bike off road. The rear seat lock mount broke off the chassis so I had to get that welded back on.
      Pending issues - idling is not stable which is either due to a bad stepper motor, clogged idle circuit or bad TMAP sensor. Front fork tubes are scored and due for replacement. I will see if and when I can get the repairs done.
      You can see why I am worried about my 2019 390 Duke. That engine is known to blow its gasket. After some time and the electronics are expensive. My warranty will expire in 6 months and I have only done 4k km. At least RE provides extended warranty because it stands by its new 650 twins' quality. KTM doesn't because they know their bikes have issues.
      So maintaining a first batch KTM is expensive because they treat first customers like beta testers.
      EDIT: I remember one more post-warranty repair:
      6. Both left and right side switchgears replaced as the flash-to-pass switch and indicator selector started malfunctioning on the left and the engine kill switch needed to be flipped more than once.

    Big fan of twin engine, but now I am going to to give it a 2nd thought . If paying 3.5lpa is not reliable , RE is not worth it. , even fuel is shoeing wrong reading then it's a big concern as it's a basic thing and a bike manufacturer since 1901 is having trusts issue, then RE is not worth it. Poor Indian management " jugad" mind set . They should learn from honda .

      @TheTwinPost  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Anshuman.... thankyou for the info.
      The guy at the service station never gave me a clear answer. So 'optional charge' means they could've avoided charging me for it...hmm...plus I had to anyways spend 800-1000 rupees for Uber (going back on that day and coming back the next day) since I had to leave the bike there for a day.

    • @anshumannaveengurung2805
      @anshumannaveengurung2805 3 роки тому +1

      Yeah it is sort of an add on type of thing...if you feel you dont need those you can easily deny them for it. And i clearly asked the guy that in second service can i deny these charges and he said yes you can. I got my bike serviced at RE service center opp. Jhandewalan Mandir. And to be honest as you said even they are not certain about these things..they are just following what is in the schedule without knowing how to explain things to customer.

    I bought a lemon called Pulsar 150 Neon 1 year back which has had the lower Triple clamp, starter motor and rear wheel coupler rubber replaced under warranty 🙃, total kms under 4900km. My bike was pulling towards right which all service centers denied. After 2 months of back and forth with the svc I got connected to the regional manager who took charge and ordered to replaced the Tee. I beat you to this " replaced under warranty" thing but goes to show how incompetent the svc and sometimes your luck is. Didn't had to pay for replacements but time and petrol still pinch to this day.
    Their reason for not washing is a fluke. They usually say Delhi Govt in order to save water doesn't allow service centers and workshops to use water to wash and for now they're using pandemic as an excuse.
    This is true to some extent since you won't find any other svc having "dedicated" washing area visible from outside or inside their premises, thats just how good cop bad cop play of authorities allow them.

    • @TheTwinPost
      @TheTwinPost  3 роки тому +2

      Whoa that's really bad.... And yes it's actually the service centers that usually let's you down. I have explained people at service centers numerous times that I need to get the coneset checked and greased if necessary but what I get in return is *sab theek to hai sir* without even checking anything and expert opinions like *aap alignment karvali sir* ....it's becomes really frustrating.
      Washing thing....one person who I know rides a Mojo300 and says his bike gets washed at the service center without any issue. I too think that they either keep the washing area out of direct site or get it washed from a nearby place or something like that.

    • @tejaspadhye
      @tejaspadhye 3 роки тому +1

      @@TheTwinPost yeah it's an unspoken thing. Every other manufacturer's svc does proper washing, only RE going on with the excuse. Few Bajaj svc went on to "Sanitizing" vehicles and charged 60 rupees for that when they opened on 8th june. Weird time that was.

    What's bike mileage in city and also in Highway. Will it be comfortable to ride this bike and use it as daily commuter to ride 70 to 110km everyday?

    • @TheTwinPost
      @TheTwinPost  3 роки тому +4

      Hi there...I'm glad you found my video useful.
      Mileage:
      City: 22-24 kmpl (moderate traffic)
      Highway: 27-28 kmpl (@90-110 kmph)
      The stock seat of the INT is too soft which is fine for like an hour or so...but anything beyond 50-60 kms you will be a little uneasy... But if you can get the seat customised by adding a firmer cushion and making the seat a little broader then you'll be able to spend alot more time on the saddle before you'd want to take a halt.
      I did commute to work on my Interceptor initially for about a month to get used to the bike since I was about to take it for a Ladakh ride and commuting on this bike is indeed alot of fun.
      You'll feel the weight of the bike at slow speeds in heavy traffic - otherwise it's a pleasant experience.

      Hi Chirag.... Yes I did watch that video from 'God's own Rider' from Kerala.
      Indeed Honda is definitely a much more reliable brand than almost all the others - it's just that I'm a little spoilt for power and effortless wave of torque delivery (52 nm). I did test ride the CB350 and totally loved it but still I wouldn't take that over the INT.... They do belong to different segments so I won't compare the two... But yes if I was in the market for a classic which can do effortless 90-100 all day, looks classy and is built really well at a budget of around 2 lakhs...then the CB is indeed a damn good option.

      Hi there.... Totally depends on what you're looking for... lightweight agressive tech laden bike which hates going slow... Or Classic looking, super smooth twin which likes to go slow or even at triple digit speeds without much gear shifts.
      I've owned a 390 before I bought the Int650... Today with this budget I would still go for the 650. It's egine itself is a gem.
      Reliability...well in 2.5 years I owned the KTM...there were indeed minor niggles (rear mug guard broke away while riding due to vibrations, fairings used to vibrate alot hence I had to get them sorted, plus in heavy Traffic it used to heat up to a level where it won't go beyond 4.5k rpm till it cools down.

    Hi, what's your opinion over RE interceptor v/s RR310 in 2021. Was waiting RE 650 cruiser, but heard it's going to be more expensive than the GT 650. Also I don't think alloys & LED lighting are coming anytime soon on RE 650's at the moment.
    Was planning to buy either one of them soon.
    The only reason I like the RE is the parallel twin engine only.(A much better upgrade over my 8 year old Karizma ZMR). Although my major concern is the tube tyres, hence keeping RR310 as an option. What would you suggest?

    • @TheTwinPost
      @TheTwinPost  3 роки тому +1

      Hi there Toshal... The strongest reason for me to go for the Interceptor was it's parallel twin engine only - it's a gem of an engine.
      And yes you're right even I've lost all hopes of RE introducing alloys for the twins - especially when they swapped the tyres to Ceat ones which are tube tyres (at least Pirellis were tubeless) so even if one switched to alloys he'd still need to get new tyres now as the Ceat ones won't run without tubes.
      My bike came with Pirellis and after the mess that I got into after the first puncture I decided to get the rims converted to tubeless...and now I'm running the Pirellis without tubes which is a huge relief.
      RR310 is a capable machine indeed...but it is more towards sports oriented comparitively - I mean it's not as agressive as a RC/R3/Ninia300 but it's still a bit leaned forward and sporty which I personally don't prefer for touring. Engine wise well - 310s engine just cannot be compared with the 650... 650 is effortlessly easy on the highway and overtakings don't require you to ring the throttle.
      Aging : Generally classic bikes tend to age well.... I'm sure a 310 won't look as good after 5 years but the 650 would look as good as it does today because of its classic design.
      If your primary concern is tubeless tyres then 650 at the moment won't work... Since you'll need new tyres too to make alloys work.

    • @TheTwinPost
      @TheTwinPost  3 роки тому +2

      Hi there...your dilemma is pretty understandable.
      Within city traffic...the CB makes much more sense since it is easier to maneuver within city limits, would heat up alot lesser and give you better fuel efficiency as well since the engine is alot smaller...I did test ride it and it felt really smooth for a single cylinder 350cc engine (smoother than Meteor) and it pulled clean till 4th gear and the 5th one is just an overdrive.
      Interceptor on the other hand also feels really easy to ride because of its low end torque delivery...minimal gear shifts and the twin feels ultra smooth. If you plan on taking the highways then there's just no match between the two....triple digit overtakes are a breeze on this bike.
      If you are only going to do city rides.... I'd say take the CB....but if you plan on hitting the Highways every now and then... Take the INT650

      Hi there buddy... In my personal experience I've realised that extended warranty is something you should definitely go for.... Why do I say that - let me put out some numbers.
      1. My bike's RR-Unit failed twice which costs 3,500/- + labour..
      My RR-unit failed both times after completing 5k kms....even my friend had a failed RR-Unit after completing 6k kms
      So without warranty I would have needed to pay around 8k for it. (Both times combined)
      2. Recently the speedometer sensor of my bike also failed....I got it replaced under warranty for free.... This again would have costed me 1k rupees + labour.
      I bought my bike in 2019 when we used to get 3 yrs warranty instead of 2yrs now.
      I'm really considering getting my bike's warranty extended now.

      That's strange... RE service centers in Delhi are getting really weird now.
      I'm definitely gonna take this up to RE.
      My bike has been making thud sound when I hit pot holes.... problem seems to be with the coneset (as is with many 650s) but when I told the guys at the service centers about it... They just kicked pushed the front wheel a couple of time infront of me and said "nahi sir sab theek to hai"...a sophisticated way of checking the cone set 🤦

    • @TheTwinPost

      Yes...this is the logical reason even I have come up with after thinking of all possibilities. I think they could've placed the RR-Unit somewhere else where it could've evaded the engine heat plus a steady stream of air.
      My bike has just completed 3 years hence it's warranty period is over...so now if the RR-Unit fails then I'll have to bear the cost of approximately 3.5k + labour.

    Dude, did you have a aftermarket USB charger installed when you got the warranty cover from RE? In other words, can they deny the warranty claim if aftermarket accessories like charger, exhaust or auxiliary lights are installed?

    • @TheTwinPost
      @TheTwinPost  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Somil.... I only have a mobile holder without any charging option..so I haven't fiddled with the wiring of the motorcycle at all. The service center can deny your claim only if you've made any cuts to the stock wiring. If you have installed a plug-n-play unit of lights then it won't cause any warranty issue.
      Exhausts...well if there's any performance issues then they can point out the aftermarket exhaust as it's cause even if it's not. Always a good idea to install the stock system before going to the service center in such a scenario.

    Bhai I have one doubt, Why doesn't they gove a kick starter ?? self is good but having kick is like the failsafe in case of battery issues. Please share ur thoughts.

    • @TheTwinPost
      @TheTwinPost  3 роки тому +2

      Modern day bikes (all of them) above 200cc do not have a Kickstarter...even the new 350cc engine from RE (on meteor) doesn't have a kick starter.
      Though modern day bikes are much more reliable but yes... in these situations when something does go wrong then "Dhakka Start" or jump start is the only way out.

    • @partharoy8893
      @partharoy8893 3 роки тому +1

      True that 😃 But my question to RE is what's the harm in keeping it?? and how much extra will it cost maybe max 1k, and i personally think people will appreciate that. I can be wrong too.

    • @TheTwinPost
      @TheTwinPost  3 роки тому +2

      Actually it's not about the cost since even a 25 lakh rupees BMW 1250 GS doesn't have one.... And your question seemed genuine so I did look for few answers and this is the best logical explanation that I got from Internet :
      Google: Because modern electronic ignition systems and fuel injection systems need set voltages and a certain number of trigger events before actually turning on completely. And no combination of kickstarter parts will get to those thresholds.

  • @edraith

    Shit can happen sometimes.
    For example in my experience with Piaggio you usually have more than 10 warranty claims during the first two months, only they all gey rejected and you are forced to basically buy every defective piece anew (clutch, tires, wheels and sometimes the frame itself all can be bent by factory, also clutch and transmission usually keep failing and need to be replaced with aftermarket solutions because Piaggio ones are 50% of the times defective by factory; all plastics are misaligned; various problems to the electronics and/or the fuel pump can make the bike unoperable and Piaggio will basically just tell you FUCK YOU after you paid a lot of money) and/or keep your scooter with all the defective pieces on, and we're talking about scooters which cost more than a real motorbike and are considered premium italian quality...
    by comparison I'm not hearing as much complaints, worldwide, by Royal Enfield customers so I don't want to bash your video but please consider that you bought a bike that costs less than a scooter and, by comparison, usually performs very reliably.

    • @edraith
      @edraith 2 роки тому +1

      Btw the issue you are describing is with the alternator and it's a "standard feature" on most Piaggio scooters that cost more than your bike :P

    • @TheTwinPost
      @TheTwinPost  2 роки тому +2

      Hello there... I haven't owned a Piaggio product so don't have any experience to share as such... But by reading your comment I do understand that things aren't all that "Italian premium Quality'' with them.
      Scooter costing more than my bike ? - i assume you're talking about the expensive scooters sold in European countries including ones like Yamaha T-Max which costs more than even their own MT-07 or even MT-09.
      Coming to my motorcycle... I would say the issues I've had are majorly with the way the service centers handle such situations. I understand that machines can have small niggles here and there but the process of claiming warranty can be a whole lot better from Dealership's side - because once it reaches the RE office it doesn't take time at all.
      I'm more than happy with my Interceptor and I'm gonna keep it for many years - it's been almost 3 years and I've had an amazing experience. 650cc parallel twin...smooth engine costing roughly 3 lakhs (when I bought it) is a sweet deal indeed.
      Even today with this budget I would've gone with the same motorcycle.
