"Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the War Room!"
My favorite Kubrick movie is a clockwork orange
Great review video my favorite Kubrick Movie is Full Metal Jacket
2001 is my favorite
Great review as always! Appreciate you taking recommendations on board. I don't have this but I do have the 4 disc DVD set with FMJ, Shining, ACO and 2001. I was quite underwhelmed by The Shining, didn't find it scary at all. I adore FMJ however, I really need to rewatch it soon. Planning to watch 2001 very soon thanks to this video. Looking forward to your upcoming videos, keep up the good work
Appreciate the kind words. If you haven't seen 2001 before, I highly recommend watching it in a dark room (which sounds odd) but it really does allow you to become engulfed by the visuals of space and Earth. Some tremendous shots and music sequences in the moon mission segment in particular. :)
dvdreviewsstudios Took your advice to the next level and watched 2001 in the cinema today. Loved it! A truly mesmerising cinematic experience. The reason i saw it in the cinema was because of your comment, so thanks so much for the recommendation. Would you consider doing an in-depth movie review of it?
Nice! That is next level. I've been tempted to go and see it in the cinema just to gather the ultimate experience. I could do a video specifically on it. I was planning a video a while ago of my top 10 movie soundtracks, making 2001 my number one. Might give that another shot. Glad you enjoyed the film!
dvdreviewsstudios definitely try and go to the cinema if you can. It's surreal!
Great Review My Favourite Kubrick Movie Is 2001 A Space Odyssey
My favourite Kubrick movie is Full Metal Jacket
Same here
I would love to physically own Kubrick's films, he is my favorite director. The only ones I haven't seen from him are Spartacus and Fear and Desire. I can't decide which one is my favorite, I know it is amongst Lolita, Barry Lyndon, Full Metal Jacket and Paths of Glory. But the more I think about it I think my absolute favorite might be Barry Lyndon, I've never seen anything like it, well, the same goes for basically all of his films, but Barry Lyndon is just so enganging, the music is terrific, cinematography is breathtakingly beautiful, and I love watching Barry's transformation throughout.
But at the same time, Full Metal Jacket is simply incredible and much more emotionally enganging than Barry Lyndon, i don't know, but those 2 are my tops.
Why don't you treat yourself and buy yourself some more of his movies on blu ray or 4k?
Great review, could you do a DVD or movie review of "The Young Offenders"? Also, will your spidey video be soon?
Thanks! I'll look into grabbing The Young Offenders. Appreciate the recommendation. Spidey video is on the way.
Thanks, have you been watching the new young offenders TV show?
What about a similar video of the Tarantino movies you own? One of the great directors
I'm sure I can sort something out. :)
Can you do a video on breaking bad/better call Saul
I've been meaning to. It'll happen soon. :)
Wow you have eyes wide shut ranked pretty low,,
It's my personal 3rd favorite of his behind the a clockwork Orange and full metal jacket
Give it a rewatch, preferably alone in the dark
The suspense of the piano and atmosphere of being watched creates dread and fear without anything really going on,
I sadly never took to Eyes Wide Shut, I did like bits of it. The scene where Cruise is walking the streets with the eerie piano music did catch me off guard as one of the better moments. Perhaps worth a revisit - something to be said for a lot of Kubrick's work that I've only seen once or twice. Thanks for the comment :)
Wait, I thought your favorite horror movie was the silence of the lambs.
Honestly it switches between either movie. And sometime even Red Dragon (which I have moved away from recently since reading the novel, the movie didn't really do it justice).
the ending of paths of glory is considered one of kubricks best, what i took from it is these soldiers all acted like animals and had zero respect for that lady, but once she sings them something beautiful, something which is foreign, they are reminded of how the pointless fight on war has turned them into savages, they see true humanity in this absolute shit show and it movies them for awhile, then moments later they are sent back out into the trenches
