Patagonia vs. North Face. One is obsessed with hemp and the other isn't. Why? Well I don't know why one and one isn't but I do know why Patagonia likes hemp so much! Join us and by us I mean me and by me I mean Michael on a journey into our solar system, specifically Earth as we answer the age old question of: Why Is Patagonia SO obsessed with Cannabis...Hemp?

The Iron Snail is a men’s fashion vlog starring a young man named Michael and featuring a snail no bigger than a quarter. The two are set on taking over the world of fashion by creating a clothing line to end all clothing lines. Until then, we’re here to tell you EVERYTHING you need to know about the best clothing out there, from the highest quality raw denim jeans to the warmest jacket to the sturdiest boots…the Iron Snail has got you covered. (written by Taylor, though Michael is sometimes known to talk about himself in the third person… xoxo)

Hello everyone! This video is almost a year old and I'm here to tell you that I'm currently WORKING with hemp on some clothing items and it's INCREDIBLE. Doesn't always have to be itchy or pokey.

I just read your first newsletter, and I knew immediately when you mentioned that there was another fabric that you were working on And that it would be hemp. I just tried on the naked and Famous hemp jeans and they were the softest pants that I'd ever tried on. If you work on anything with hemp, you've got a customer in me

One of the other things holding hemp back are laws. For example, in South Dakota you're only able to grow and harvest hemp if its THC levels are below a certain threshold, and these levels can change based on things like temperature and the amount of water they get, which can often be out of a farmer's control. If THC levels get too high, then you have to destroy your crop. Inspectors from the state must also clear your harvest which slows things down and makes it more expensive.

Hey bud, love you videos. I personally think you missed out on some of the biggest reasons people like hemp. Like the water needed for it drastically less and the amount that can be harvested from hemp per plant vs cotton is way more. I understand why you focused on what you focused on but i think these are big ones i think should be touched on. No disrespect intended and loved the video all the same. Good job dude

Patigonia's hemp shorts are by far the best shorts i have worn. They are light and breathable and like you said the hemp reminds me of linen. They hold up reall well after a few years of washing. After weaing cotton shorts for ever i dont think I will go back after these hemp shorts.

There is nothing in this world that is a cure-all. People tend to find something great and then over exaggerate its benefits which leads to a greater disappointment when it isn’t as amazing as advertised. But you hit it on the mark. Introducing a fiber that is more sustainable/more resilient into the mix could have a significant impact. Reducing plastic waste by 25% would be amazing. Reducing the ecological footprint we leave by growing and harvesting fibers for products by 25% would be amazing. We need more sustainable options and hemp is a very strong candidate

What happens to hemp the more you wash and wear it? It gets softer over time. What happens to small wispy cotton fibers? They fall apart.

The swedish rubber/leather boots are interesting but huge on your feet. The all leather ones from the 70s are absolutely amazing. I bought two pairs from varustekela in Finland. Might need two pairs of socks and some pairs are in better condition than others. But if you love tough swedish items like me,than buy them.

I have a pair of Lundhags, I think they're meant to be big to accommodate layers of socks, but you can still wear them with thinner socks because the sole seems to 'sit' your heel in securely so they dont feel loose and you then get the benefit of more air movement around your toes which is good in rubber boots.

Bro how can you NOT talk about slavery and colonialism? Thats basically why cotton became so popular because white ppl got slaves to pick it. Plus all the propaganda on hemp that its this horrible thing and nothing should be mad of hemp (when almost EVERYTHING was and could be made out of hemp before). It was basically the US propagandas fault we dont have widely used hemp composite (henry fords car was hemp and bean composite) and clothes paper etc (that was used 100ss of years(
