This could've definitely been an RWS story. When water troughs were introduced, passengers getting soaked was a problem if the crew were to take on water while the tender was full. And, 2 trains passing by each other while one was using the water trough actually did cause an incident, with coal from the other engine being pushed out of the tender and breaking some windows on the coaches

I have read a bit about them in one of my train books and from one segment on my Flying Scotsman DVD Boxset. This feels like a perfect fit within S5 had Gordon & the Gremlin not been written. But hey, that's something we can all dream about.

The ghost of the Scrapyard: After hearing a ghost story from Thomas, Sir Topham Hatt ask Oliver to pick up a special train from the scrapyard. After showing up, Oliver being spoked by a mysterious engine from the shadows Chase him out. Asking sir Topham Hatt the history of the scrapyard. This could explain why the scrapyard exists, why the engines have the issues they have and maybe secretly introduce diesel 10 in the shadows. The episode can be right after the escape episode.
