Drilling Annual Ryegrass Seed

- Even though we haven't had a lot of rain lately, we are drilling some annual #ryegrass seed. Typically we like to be done planting ryegrass by this time of the year, but since we haven't had much rain, we are a little later getting the seed out. It has been a few years since we have drilled any seed. Since we don't have an abundance of hay this year, we decided to supplement with some ryegrass. Hopefully we will get some rain soon and have a decent stand of ryegrass heading into the winter. #farmerhunt #drillingseed

Thanks Eric nice video guys!
Thanks for watching!
Thanks, Eric. I'm here in Cropwell, AL and about to drill some myself. Been waiting on some rain to get some of the back pastures done.
Ben, we have all done the "surprise" trip in the wife's car. Of course, the gas light is always on too. Lol
Haha it never fails that the gas light will be on.
Hope yall get some rain soon. We are still waiting here.
Very insightful, Eric. Appreciate the video 👍🏻.
I do believe she got her money’s worth out of that set lol
😂 Thanks!
What was the video called when you spread it with litter? Looking to try that this week when I spread some litter. I remember the video but can’t find it now.

"Spreading Fertilizer - Smells like money to me". Not sure if that link above will work or not.
Do y’all use the same seeding rate when broadcasting and for hay fields?
Typically we do if we are just overseeding.
Once it starts growing how long do you wait before you put cows on it
Ideally we like to give it a couple weeks to get established. Some of the pastures we never take the cows off of though. The weather really determines how well the rye grass does
