I got stuck on that beach on my own. Ses had to winch me out, waves were lapping against my tyres. First time on an SA beach having done beaches in all other states except Vic. Healthy respect now for those SA beaches.
Well done, nothing broken and you didn't try and slingshot it into the next state. Snatch straps have their place, but they can also break stuff pretty effectively.
No centre diff lock makes no difference is just used to engage 4wd in full time 4wds part time like the hilux still operates in 4wd. The full time 4wd with centre diff lock should operate exactly the same way as a part time 4wd with it in 4wd. It would be different if the prado had cross axle diff locks and the hilux didn't. As you said it came down to experience and tyre pressures.
Shoot, the car wasn’t even bogged by my estimation. My stock Pajero would have got out of that I reckon just with tyres down, low range, centre and rear diff locked.
Please don't use the tow bar pin. Otherwise there's some great tips here. Enjoy the beaches folks, hopefully the Vic government will let people back on the sand soon.
❤😊good shit😊

Well done, God bless you guys
Love it Tony!
Help ‘‘em out coz they’re Victorian, if they’re from South Australia we just leave them there 😅

Not sure what happened to your strap dampeners.
Not needed unless we get more serious gentle Tow no problem
what's your tyre PSI ?

Pajero a diff beast on the sand brother. Let the landcruiser/hilux/patrol fan boys get bogged.
Good recovery in a less than ideal situation.
More right foot boys dont be shy.
Haha that's the same spot where I got bogged.
You’re not the first and won’t be the last ha ha Ha

In this case where the gear seems limited, what are alternatives to the hitch pin?
