Hey Everyone, thanks in advance for checking out the premier tonight, I'm excited to chat with you. Please don't forget to hit like and leave a comment. It really helps me out with getting this message out there and my goal with content is to help inspire more responsible recreation. The more people we can reach, the better we can achieve that together 🫶
Thank you for taking us on this journey with you, and telling your story. It's an inspiration to really be mindful of where we go and tread lightly, and set a good example for others who also wish to enjoy the areas we go to. If I am unable now to get up there myself now, your video is the next best thing! Hopefully in the future things will change, and I will be able to experience it myself..
Can’t please every one. Thanks for watching anyway! If you have feedback that you think will make the videos better feel free to DM me on IG. I’m always open to constructive feedback. Still learning.
Your video was recommended to me because of your Tread Lightly approach. I really like your drone angles and the fact you didnt gloss over the cabin details. I like your message but find this video a little bit preachy. Just my $0.02. Kudos for producing these videos and putting yourself out there for guys like me to scrutinize🙂
Thanks I’m glad you enjoyed the tread lightly content. I get the feedback about being preachy. This is something I’m trying to be cognizant of. I am trying to walk a careful line where I use this content to try to share a meaningful message that goes beyond just simple drone shots etc. tbh I make these videos not for people on UA-cam I don’t know but so my son will some day watch them and learn some lessons. Most of my videos in the last year deal with topics outside of wheeling metaphorically. It’s more about personal values, growth, dealing with hardships, all the things I want him to learn how to deal with as he gets older. In this case, bc of the recent controversy I did get a bit more intense about it in places, mostly bc I was feeling passionate about it so I can recognize your point. That said, I don’t know that I will stop doing this. It gives this content meaning for me. Otherwise I’m just driving up a mountain begging for views and tbh I don’t really care about views or sponsors. I want to use my platform to tell a story that gets people thinking about life and nature and ultimately marry that with acts of responsible recreation. I hope you’ll come on this journey with me as I learn to find my voice. I’m still very new to this and promise I’ll do my best.
@lubawinski Never heard of him 🤣 I’m joking. Why would you ask me that? It’s weird but ok… If you look at Shaun’s past videos from last summer/winter you’ll see I brought him out on a big trip in the summer and then I went and supported him for his Patreon run shortly after in the winter. Would I do that if I have a beef? Clearly not. I hope that is direct enough. Now to be extra clear so there’s no mistakes about this… This video speaks on topics affecting all creators in the genre not just one. If you are referring specifically to the “bridge incident” Shaun wasn’t even involved in that but we are both individually friends with those who were and to be more clear this isn’t a beef with them either. I talked to them all directly before I posted this video and they all gave me their ok to post my thoughts about it. They know what my content is about. My videos aren’t about click farming and clouting views over drama or beef homie. I make video to tell stories about topics that try to leave things better than I found them. That’s actually what this video is all about. Ironic you’d ask me that here! I’m making videos so my son can watch them someday and learn lessons from them about using any “influence” he might be given to be a good person and a solid recreational steward in the outdoors community. I’m also actively involved in 4wdabc and I assertively prioritize community over clout. I have no interest in turning social media into a career. I’ve declined thousands in sponsorship offers as my way of ensuring my incentives are in line and values are uncompromised. I go out with almost anyone who asks and regularly guide out people new to 4x4 on BC for free. I don’t believe in velvet ropes when it comes to the outdoors & I won’t tolerate it in the people I associate with. So, no - I’m not beefing with anyone. Least of all “influencers”. That would be a waste of this energy & integrity. I prefer to spend it on creating content that is my absolute best attempt to set a better example for my son, at very least metaphorically if not literally. That said I’m also fully aware that some people do not like me because I don’t bend a knee at the alter of clout and I’m fine with it. I hope you follow along anyway ❤
Sorry I completely disagree with your point of view & the basis of your assertion on this topic. Filming a location is not what gets it closed. Teaching people to gate keep places so they can be destroyed out of the public eye does. It’s also very pretentious. You don’t own public land. It’s for everyone and filming is a way to educate the public on how to respect these places. We can disagree on this respectfully. I wish you the best with that approach. It simply doesn’t work. Ask any 4wd association.
@@HighGroundByNightfallI'm sure its an unspoken rule in the 4x4 community not to just openly tell people on mass about these gems. Posting a video with a high level of detail is not just telling a few friends. Its taking a local gem and making it highly visible.
@@follow_fraser3081 I hear your concern but again I don’t agree with your point of view. Gatekeeping locations is not an unspoken rule uniformly in the 4x4 community. It’s just one for people people don’t want to share public lands and that in fact is the worst possible approach to stewardship and why we have major associations like 4wdabc who do this instead of local gatekeepers. The approach of gatekeeping public lands is exactly what caused the recent controversy this video is speaking of that has led to the bridge being removed yesterday and today. So now you don’t have to worry. You won’t be able to get up there unless you have 40” tires & a 4.5” lift anyway. Thank god for keeping local gems hidden right? 🤦
I’d also like to note, as someone with big enough tires and lift to get up there with or without the bridge, I’m not in favour of gatekeeping it so only large rigs can reach this area. I believe public lands are for all and if you can find locations you deserve to try to go. Feel free to watch my other videos on these topics if you would like to understand my pov more. I recommend dichotomy ridge as one that specifically speaks on this issue from personal experiences.
@@HighGroundByNightfall dude. I've told many people of this spot - face to face, over the phone. In a controlled manner. Showed them where it is and what to expect. I'm pointing out that channels who put out videos to the world are giving spots too much exposure. You're just framing my Cristism as gatekeeping and attacking that. The last two times I've been up there there has been convoys of over ten vechiles at a time. It wasn't like that before.
Dude, awesome video. But dude, I hate to break it to you, you don't have a storytelling voice. Please get someone else to do the voice overs. Other than that it was great to watch.

@@RAGNAROK_OVERLANDING Glad you enjoyed it Matt! Can't wait for the big one!
Cool video, with awesome views! Thanks for sharing 😊
Thanks Johnny. Happy to share with an AluCab homie!
Always love drone shots, and videos of this place. It’s a gem!
Thanks Mike! Glad you enjoyed it 🫡

Super happy to hear you enjoyed it. Let’s be optimistic about the future. No bridges were burned making this film. The future is unwritten 🫶
Sweet video! That washout has been there a long time. And yeah, not the best line 😂.
Tell me about it!
Without a doubt one of your best productions to date. The shots, the team, the music, the message, and of course, the place ♥️🤘🏻💫
Thanks Jaz! Means a lot to me. But of course, the main star of the show is always the location!
@@HighGroundByNightfall🙌🏼 💯
What a great video, you captured that place perfectly
Such a wonderful place. Sad to see the bridge go but river still should be crossable most of the season.
Dam that’s an amazing trip that some awesome views
Sure was! Great to chat about your build Glen!
Awesome video. Awesome location🤘
Did it for the homies 🫡🫶

There is a big fuss about the Sketchy Bridge these days?
Yeah it’s getting removed now. If you google for adventure taco + name of location and 2024 you’ll find a pretty decent account of the events.
Is that a little bit of a “beef” with the story till now?

Honnoring this special place would be not filming it so it stays special and open.

Hahaha not a story telling voice? What’s exactly is a story telling voice? Do you mean like that lame AI voice actor stuff people are doing now?
