I bought my first Evoque in 2012, the second in 2015 and have just traded it (and got 36% of its original cost - after 6 years) for a 2021 version. Not one has had any issues.....
I still love their vehicles. I can't afford one but common sense tells you that more complicated vehicles will require more maintenance and at a higher cost. I would buy an older one and learn how to maintain it. They're beautiful cars.
I have 2014 Range Rover Sport HSE 5.0 V8 Supercharged 106k miles on it. Mine are pretty reliable never had a single problem and never give me check engine lights. The performance also great. But the performance and services really expensive, and not fuel efficiency. The overalls is good and this is the best suv I've ever drives.
With Evoque , buy used , you get a 7 year , 100,000 mile warranty free from Land Rover . That's what I done today. 2020 with 7000 miles and $900 in upgrades . Practically a new car with twice the warranty. I got white with black roof.
Careful, those warranties can sometimes be as worthless as the paper they’re printed on. I’ve seen so many issues with the Evoques even those purchased new. Flip side is you hopefully got it at a decent price.
@@EricFortuneJr. LR Certified Warranty is actually pretty good, they will cover everything but you will have to be on top of the dealer. The dealers do not like to do warranty work(reimbursement is so low they do not make any money) so unless something is very broken they will not fix it, if you complain about something they will take care of it though. That used to be a good way to buy the cars but they are getting way too much for used rover's right now, they are a liability and should be regarded as such. New rovers seem to be worse than used, JLR has zero quality control so new cars come from the factory full of issues that need to be fixed by the dealer, by the time it has completed it's lease it is probably sorted.
I run a Range Rover Velar Dynamic and my wife has a Range Rover Evoque. Both incredible cars to drive and neither have caused any reliability issues. It seems to me that the people who mostly post negative reviews have never owned one. I will continue to drive and own the brand, and having recently road tested the new Defender it could be a new addition!
@@shannonphillips8897 I prefer the Velar, but I suppose it depends on the model and the spec. The Velar is just more luxurious to drive and the air suspension is a delight.

What ever it says about Range Rovers , I used my first Range HSE, for 10 years without any major problem. The second Range Rover HSE ,I have been using, is in its 9th year now. so far no problems at all. Still it gives me trouble free daily commute with great handling and controlling . I have a feeling The Range Rover that have been using right now can be used for another at least 3 -5 years without a problem. Don’t listen to any who doesn’t have first hand experience. I have very good experience with RRs even my next buy will be another RR .I never think of going for another brand.
Thanks for sharing. The reliability comments bug me and I always wonder if these actual from people with no experience with them. A vehicle that can get you through 2 feet of water, handle snow and sand and look good is reliable in my opinion.
@@DeVonMArtis Watch Doug Demuro and his experience with RR. Been a disaster. Turns out the warranty he bought eventually outpaces the cost of the vehicle. He's been fine as the warranty took care of it but for the warranty company it's sucked. I'd NEVER buy a RR, Cadillac, Jeep. The OP experience is straight B's as most of my friends have had trouble with theirs. Go to any European car shop and you'll find RR and Mini there. Parking lot is full of them. Land Rover Defender. I'm in the construction industry. I drive it in the worst terrain ( places others won't go), try to drown it in flooded areas, drive like a bat out of hell on any roads, dogging it out totally. Other than dents and scratches, it's been problem free for a couple of years. We'll see how it fares when the warranty is up. Otherwise, it's a solid SUV.
Jaguars, Land Rovers, Range Rovers have made many workshops owners wealthy for decades. They definitely love them. The world will never run out of people who prioritize style over substance.
Same here. Started with a alfa mito for over 2 years and now a stelvio. Mever had any trouble with it. Drives like a gem and steering is second to none. Never felt more responsive in any other brand. Tested the range rover velar and while it feels powerfull the steering is so light that it feels weird to drive imo compared to the stelvio
... not to mention actually worth more in 5 to 10 years because of the high cost to repair the expensive junk... shame on the war motor companies for lacking quality yet charging a hefty ransoms for their crap.. the rest of the car should be as high in quality as the interior ..
What amazes me is that Land Rover has been having reliability issues with their vehicles for decades yet have never bothered to resolve them. All their executives offer is public apologies.
@@mverick5444 That does not make sense and does not fit with the Luxury market clientele. Land Rover competes in the same market segment as Mercedes, Audi and BMW who have no run away reliability issues. No wonder in this market segment, their sales numbers keep dropping while all their competitors sales numbers are growing. Land Rover is the newest entrant to the luxury car sales and have also proven to be the worst in delivering a real luxury product to customers.
The main reason is the people who buy them don’t care. They have four cars, so if the Range Rover Black Edition is in the shop a week each month they usually have something else to drive. The status (so called) is all the care about. I’ll stick with my Cayenne.

Had always driven bmw and Audi previously. The audis had more issues. Engine, wheel bearings and a collapsed steering fork.
I’ve had Evoque and F-Pace now as my last. 2 cars.......both were first generation.....I had a Haldex Box Pump go in the Evoque changed under warranty.....some minor rattles in the F-Pace.....yes the entertainment system interface in both has been average although the meridian stereos are amazing....... Apart from that they have both been great......strong engines and running gear, great drive, great fuel economy......🤷♂️
Lower reliability does not mean every owner will face issues. A component should fail very rarely. 1 in 1000 failing vs 1 in 10000 failing makes a big difference in reliability
Too be honest I am not going off road with my SUV, and just want it to be comfy on road and high enough to block all sedan driver visions and stay on top of them during accidents.
Oh please JLR was suffering under Ford. Tata gave them the liberty to do your own thing and they still didn’t do much. If quality was the case then why is Tata one of the safest cars in India then? Their cars have 5 star ncap reviews unlike those made from Japanese automakers
@@kstravelvlog497 well actually they were already having issues earlier also . That's why they were sold to TATA. And jlr-landrover tech and design is certainly helping TATA in india . Tata Motors had a golden opportunity to turn JLR into a "British" Lexus but, instead, just added more tech and better design (meaning looks) while keeping the same ole garbage quality. Why they think this is a great plan for the future is beyond me, but Stellantis is following the same playbook.

they're talking about AVERAGE and overall reliability , Key word is average..... of course there are gonna be a few good models of any car brand, not all of them can be completely horrible or else Land Rover would be outta business XD tbh, they were going to be until Tata bought em. Even the dodge dart has had satisfied customers and that car was horrible reliability wise on AVERAGE.
I have the Range Rover Sport Supercharge and no major problems, the problems I have are minor and I fix myself... and I'm still buying the Stelvio when I get the chance. The reasons why these cars on this list have issues is bc they keep using new and improved parts/tech which are not proven over the long term so the cars end up looking bad in reliability but the cars are high performance, high tech and looks good which makes these cars stand the test of time which is why I still buy them and love them. I'd rather drive these cars and fix the issues rather than to buy a Camry which have less issues.
@@tomAkelife-ff9tf yep, I could have said Lexus but even that is an overpriced Camry, just the same reliability.. buying a Avalon would be middle ground if you want to save money compared to a Lexus, plus it would give you more features and high end materials compared to a Camry. It would slip out of "D" slightly and would not move if you press the gas, I had to physically hold it in Drive. I figured what the issue was, dealer wanted $500 to fix it so instead I bought the part from them for $16 and went home and installed it, which took me 20 mins under the engine to do. I also do my own brakes too even though it's Brembo, just a little different from the reg brakes. I have a Discovery sport from nearly new from a Land Rover dealer . I do love it. The driver seat is comfortable. I service it regularly and treat it with love and care. I have had the following works done to it so far Brake disc ( got rusty in no time) replacement x 2 Rear right side lights cluster replacement Investigation for several rattles from pillar A and B Broken coolant system Failed diesel filter Failed boot struts Failed timing belt rattle Failed gear box Regular failing of infotainment system leading to no heating or ac and no fan , I just open the window to compensate It has has proper off road adventures ( off road being off the road at the dealers) And more free car washes at the dealership. Too many issues to balance here. I have so far done 76000 miles and my car is currently awaiting a new gear shift lever at the dealership. Despite of the above issues, there are no plans to change it as the seat is super comfortable and your back does not hurt at all no matter how long the drive. Looking forward to doing a million miles in it 😄
Tesla's water leaking issue is serious. Tesla should advertise their vehicles as passenger side swimming pool included. I heard way too many horror stories about Tesla and Land Rover.
F-Pace suffers with leaks in the same way the XE and XF models do. Jaguar decided to make it harder to replace the pollen filter, meaning that garages found a workaround to change it, going in through the scuttle panel instead of just removing the glovebox. If not seated properly, the water runs down the windscreen, and into the pollen filter housing and into the car. Also, some gromets behind the front fenders shrink over time, and water gets in there too.

CR talks about how they like the exhaust sound from the 2.0L 280hp engine in the Stelvio. The exhaust sound was actually coming from the 2.9l 505hp Stelvio Quadrifoglio. Next time, Consumer Reports, don't criticize vehicles until you can actually tell them apart.
For me the main issue with poor reliability outside of safety is time... Even if covered under warranty, as a well paid professional, I’d be loosing many productive hours not counting all the hassle. I’m ok having a car not as elegant as a Range Rover but reliable like a fridge.

I had 6 JLR SUVs over an 11 year period and I will never buy another product of theirs, which is sad because when they were good they were great. My original RRS (2006) was fantastic with no faults (but not great build quality). My Evoque was one of the first in the U.K. (2011) and again no issues in 4 years of ownership but then it all went downhill with a later RRS and then two disastrous F-Paces both of which were rejected at less than six months old. I then bought an Audi which had zero faults in 3 years and now I have a Cayenne which is an engineering marvel compared to any JLR product. Flawless ownership over 2 years so far.
Still quite happily driving my 2010 RR Sport 3.6. Needed an alternator at 65k and some bushes and lower arms at 75, other than that its only needed regular servicing.
Not sure you can include the Lincoln Corsair (and the 2020 Escape), as it's a new model launched in 2020, replacing the 2019 MKC. I worked in AWS and the in the first 6 months, TGW (Things gone wrong) for the Corsair was only .03 per 100 units. This is a class leading stat.
Yeah, I really doubt that the Corsair has many problems other than carbon build-up on the intake valves for the 2.0L and the PTU failing on the AWD, but the first problem is common to all non-hybrid GDI engines and the PTU is now serviceable with fluid replacement due to Ford going broke over warranty repairs on the older version.

I love the Stelvio and Levante, but I know better than to buy either. However, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to test drive a Stelvio Quadrifoglio. It’s probably the only one in my entire TN city. It was a trade-in from CA. And damn, it was sweeeeeeet!! All the SUVs I like the most have crappy reliability ratings. (Not all in the video.) That really sucks. I’m going to have to compromise on my likes and dislikes to get something safe and reliable that will last.
as a minimum, VW tiguan and audi q3-q4-q5-q6-q7 should be in this list, due to their unreliability in having all screen blacked out & car failing to start out of literally nowhere. is this list aiming towards a specific class of SUVs?
My mom owned her 2019 Stelvio Sport Ti since new and so far the only issue she had with it was the Fuel pump needing to be replaced but was covered under warranty. So far the suv has been more reliable than her previous car which was a Chrysler 200 S Awd which had issues with the trans shifting rough.
I had the old style Discovery and after 4 years except for a change of tyres it was faultless. There seems to be a common issue here and that is the infotainment issue which appears not to be faulty but just not good to use. I hate touch screen anyway as to me you have t take your eye of the road which is dangerous.
Not surprised a bunch or Land Rover's make the list. A close friend of mine is a service manager at Land Rover dealership and she told me DO NOT buy Land Rover.

Common sense taught me a new meaning for Luxury vehicles. Luxury vehicle is a vehicle that spends more time on the road then in the shop. A car that actually last for a long period of time 🤔
If you lease, then the warranty should take care of it. Just never buy them used unless you have time and money except for Tesla which didn’t have the mechanical or electronic problems.
Nothing has changed for the last 50 years. Just never buy British made cars. It's garbage. Also better to avoid the American made cars because of the poor buildquality.

What ever it says about Range Rovers , I used my first Range HSE, for 10 years without any major problem. The second Range Rover HSE ,I have been using, is in its 9th year now. so far no problems at all. Still it gives me trouble free daily commute with great handling and controlling . Watch Doug Demuro and his experience with RR. Been a disaster. Turns out the warranty he bought eventually outpaces the cost of the vehicle. He's been fine as the warranty took care of it but for the warranty company it's sucked. I'd NEVER buy a RR, Cadillac, Jeep. F-Pace suffers with leaks in the same way the XE and XF models do. Jaguar decided to make it harder to replace the pollen filter, meaning that garages found a workaround to change it, going in through the scuttle panel instead of just removing the glovebox. @@Ford-Explorer606 yes. I refer to my 18. And expedition are not hi volume and remain mostly the same durring the generation
@@philipjohn4149 good to hear
Yup every model y I've ever seen has panel gaps that would make British layland blush.
I have a discovery sport. The infotainment is definitely not great like the japanese but i so far had no issues even after 5 years. Some general issues but the overall driving ride is always comfortable in lon journeys
If you want something reliable Honda and Toyota they are the best 👍👍👍
No surprises in this list. Jaguar and Land Rover always there and Tesla is well known for their continuos problems.
Are tesla really unreliable sir . Please tell me what are its issues sir and what are the cons faced on owning a tesla because i am planning to buy a model x
@@Ford-Explorer606 I’d suggest you buy a honda crv or a toyota sienna. It’s highly reliable.
@@geevarghese201 thanks
@The Professional ok sir I own a 4 runner but were looking for something electric
@@Ford-Explorer606 they have one of the crappiest quality control.
Mach e?
Honestly u should wait a little more. Electric f-150 is on the way I guess.
Is lr disco 4 reliable. Is it a good car to buy?
I'm looking into a 2013 sdv6 hse model🤔
Just don't buy any used LR. Had a buddy who bought a 2012 LR4 lemon and had it sit outside for 2 years while driving a Kia, I shit you not.
When will people learn never to buy anything from the midlands? As for the Alfa. Owners love them otherwise. Jeremy Clarkson once said Alfas are like your crazy ex girlfriend. She's demanding but gives the best bl*wj*b in the world.
Geesh, I almost bought one. Got a nautilus instead, really enjoyed it as well.
Indeed an insightful program, so i would never buy a Land Rover.
After sales service shocking in SA
A friend owned F Pace 3.0 litre diesel.
It needed to be serviced every 2 weeks because he often traveled a lot.
Common sense taught me a new meaning for Luxury vehicles. Luxury vehicle is a vehicle that spends more time on the road then in the shop. A car that actually last for a long period of time 🤔
Mrs has had an evoque for 4 years with not a single issue?
If you lease, then the warranty should take care of it. Just never buy them used unless you have time and money except for Tesla which didn’t have the mechanical or electronic problems.
Nothing has changed for the last 50 years. Just never buy British made cars. It's garbage. Also better to avoid the American made cars because of the poor buildquality.
Everything comes to u on time 😎😎
Thank the Lord. Not a single German model on the list.
However don't trust Audi
Mate sorry to burst your bubble, but German cars have appalling reliability too. You can either take the red pill now, or fund German automakers' employee benefits schemes
@@bakerdow9884 Well Porsches are on par with Lexus. Parts though are pricey since they come from Germany
@@londoriath3764 Just because a list on the net says Porsches are as reliable as a Lexus doesn't make it true. I am from London, have lived in Germany, currently living in Poland. Definitely not on par.
@@bakerdow9884 I think there's one of these list suggesting the Cayenne is one of the least reliable cars out there.
When did Kermit become expert in Cars - "JAG WAR " - Ha Ha give me strength !
😱 horrified by my favorite brands , How can you not mention the Range Rover ?
The Range Rover Sport is JLR's most reliable coming in at 3/5
And this is the 2016 model
It’s the compact segment.
@@londoriath3764 Land Rover
Reliable
Pick one. You should have said "least unreliable"
Bro this are paid reviews
where is audi
I love how this video is just Land Rover 'train of hate' lol.
I have had a 2019 Alfa Romeo Stelvio for over 2 years. Have never had a problem. Best driving, both handling and acceleration, in it's class by far!
