If they what a ant Man&wasp shooting dark ride why not take a plot ideas from the ant Man&wasp movie where Hank Pym and iron man what to explore the mircoverse has a possible prison for thanoas like threaths and they get a test crew with Scott but they find living creatures that attack you and you have to protect your on your exploration
You should remember that Mission: BREAKOUT and the Iron Man Experience aren't canon to MCU as well. Also the upcoming Avengers Campus will apparently recon the SNAP.

The art design is actually really nice, but it feels super stagnant and like it came out of one of those awful Dubai theme parks. Probably one of the worst things I’ve ever seen come from a Disney park.

@@peters9889 No one said anything about the ride system. It's not the issue. The issue is how almost none of the set pieces move, and there are zero animatronics. The ride system is fine.

Really cheap re-skin Of Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters In Hong Kong. No animatronics and just video screens. Disney is losing their touch. We need the old imagineers back!
What do you mean? the physical sets are way better then the cardboard cutouts
(EDIT) Upon rewatching there is more color in the later sets than the first sets. The nanobots all have legs or tools on them, they should move, wiggle, or activate their tool when hit.
While I like the idea of this attraction being a re-skin of BLAB, but with a Marvel skin, you are right about attraction quality. I think it looks great except the set pieces are very monochromatic with little color change. The Antman and Wasp movies have a lot of color, even when they shrink. I don't mind the video screens unless they are only using them. Video screens should augment the practical, not be the main in an open target shooter ride. You are right, they need some animatrontic physical reaction to hitting the targets and story telling. The targets just blink when hit and reset. Nothing happens. Other than trying to get high score against a friend I see minimal re-ridability to this ride. As it is I only go on BLAB because of the sets, not to actually shoot targets for points.
More color, some practical effects to hitting targets, some physical story telling would make this top tier. All of this can be added over time here and there as they recover cost from the gate.

@@baddealdude807 I can see how it would be a nice change. Sort of like a new map on a team shooter video game like Overwatch. I would not be surprised if this got re-skinned again at the other parks only with a different Marvel movie. I see going to Disneyland California and after going on BLAB in the main park one could then go to DCA and do a Marvel skinned one there.

I think in Hong Kong they didn’t have a buzz ride so they wanted to have something similar to that ride because it’s popular in the US, with a little twist “Antman”. Obviously it failed

This would be a lot more fun if they added actual moving parts, and I already think it’s pretty cool just cause I love Ant-Man and I wish they added more of his comedic dialogue

I had a nightmare about this ride for months where the tech came to life and trapped and killed me. I woke up in a cold sweat unsure if I was dead a few times.
I’m glad the ride is so underwhelming in comparison to my nightmare.

I've read enough of the comments below to know that I thought of this thing pretty much what everyone else thought of it. The only positive thing I have to say is that I'm glad Disney hasn't totally abandoned using the omnimover.

I expected more from this attraction. I wanted this ride to be similar to that of the Iron Man Experience.
Even though I love Antman this ride looks rather boring and lacking the Disney Magic that it should have, honestly should have left it as the Buzz Lightyear ride....

Man I was expecting WAY more out of a ride like this. Imagine if it were a trackless shooter with full-motion animatronics and such? The only Interesting setpeice in this ride is the part where they go in one of the robots and you can see the fans and stuff. God what a letdown...

I was actually in Hong Kong Disneyland a few days after it opening, and decided to go on this. The queue looked awesome so I had such high hopes...
This is actually a pretty kool ride, I like it a lil more that Buzz Lighyears Astro Blasters, and I love how they made Arman Zola a villain on this ride, and how they actually had the real actors who play Antman and Wasp

I was so excited to see a new Disney ride on this channel ... but as soon as I saw the shooters, I lowered my expectations. This is bad. One of the first Hong Kong attractions to not entice me whatsoever.

Wow as far as Disney dark rides go this is really bland.nothing is moving, the ride is kinda slow, not a whole lot of movement. Everything is stationary. I've done a lot of dark rides over the years and this looks really dumb.

Man, Tokyo Disney gets all the cool rides, if they just refined it and put it in Florida I would be so happy
This would be great at magic kingdom. They just need more animatronics and moving parts, and this ride could be fantastic

2. This ride absolutely sucks. Not a single target moves, and it has one of the laziest stories in Disney attraction history. It replaced Buzz Lightyear in Hong Kong, Buzz was never an incredible ride. Buzz was a whole lot better than this, Buzz had moving targets and a easy-to-follow storyline. If this came to any other park, me along with many other fans would be pissed.
For an example of how to do a shooting ride RIGHT see Men in Black at Universal Studios.

The staging is nice, it does look like the inside of a sci-fi computer, and the projection mapping looked good, but it could use some more movement. Would be easy to plus into something good.

I don’t understand why people are complaining? This isn’t an E-Ticket attraction, why did they expect animatronics and state of the art effects? It was made simply to distinguish it further from the Shanghai Buzz Lightyear Shooter.
Because it was advertised/billed as an "exciting action filled" ride which featured "new technologies never seen before". I'm pretty sure I've seen laser-tracked shooting galleries and projectors before.

They should have made it so the broken robots/nano bugs lurch at your vehicle and you have to fire back to try and destroy it. Maybe there could be a health system where if you loose too much health your vehicle is disabled for a few seconds.

Very cool that they got the actors, and even unmasked them to show it's them (aside from Tony)
But it's not as interactive or creative as the Buzz Lightyear one. They need to add sparks to the circuits, or have the bots spin around when fried up. Maybe animate that claw to have it open when right in front of the enemy?
Thematically it works, and I always love seeing Antman in things, but yeah...definitely underwhelming. Would totally ride it tho.

gissneric yea ive been on flight several times, its soarin on steroids nothing we havent seen disney do before, also like w everything else disney has opened recently it lacks A LOT of character and feeling, i would never place it next to classic disney attractions like space mountain or pirates or tower or everest but yea its a good ride i guess ha
Imagine if the villain employed tiny robots that were trying to siphon the information directly from the tech, and people could shoot at the robots, causing them to go limp for a bit, depending where you shot them? And what if the ant-man ride actually had ant-man helping by sending in ants? Instead of the place looking like a continuous hallway, they could have certain sections where it looks like the ants have carved through and opened areas for the players. You could even have a few fight scenes of ants versus nano bots where you can help the ants out by shooting the nano bots

Is the ride an event/“limited-time ride” or is it staying.
My thoughts I posted in other vids.
Pros:
1. Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly are great here and bring a bit of humor.
2. Use of the screens are good for what is being worked with.
3. Seeing the targets change color when shot at is great for tracking if you hit them.
4. Hydra Pinwheel and the Zolo room are the two best rooms.
Cons:
1. Not much life in the ride. Robots should me moving and attacking. Big example is the crane claw in the first room.
2. Ant-Man and Wasp should've had at least 1 Animatronic to be giant sized or at least larger than what they're supposed to be.
3. Ride seems to end abruptly.
4. For the story being told it is very rushed. Could've used maybe two more rooms to give it a full story.
Review: 6.5/10 a decent update since they already have a Toy Story Land, Buzz doesnt need to be in Tomorrowland. But it could be better.
