    This is correct step by step beginner guide for scribing, many tutorial from experienced builder just straight scribing using chisel, which would work if you already have the feel, but chisel is more prone to slip if you are not careful. follow this tutorial if you are first timer.

    what carving hooks should I buy as a beginner 0.2 I see you use soI'll get that and the needle scriber but what about 0.3? 0.5? 1.0mm? which ones would I use most often?

    When would you use a hook chisel vs the flat head chisel (ex. BMC)?

    • @DonSuratos
      @DonSuratos  3 роки тому

      Hook I use for most scribing, flat for rectangular indents.

    What oil do you use when scribing and do you find it interferes with painting?

    • @DonSuratos
      @DonSuratos  4 роки тому +1

      Just ordinary hardware "tools oil". Wash all the parts with dish soap and water before painting. :)

    Cool video, however with your white table plus you chose to use white for your text color, it's not a good combination, makes it very difficult to read. It would be best if you were using solid black filled in the text against a white background or a black box around your text in the video

    nice , DSPIAE good quality ?

    • @DonSuratos
      @DonSuratos  4 роки тому

      Yes. Sharper than BMCs and better quality than most. ;)

    • @EvilhomerNZ
      @EvilhomerNZ 4 роки тому

      They're actually really good. I would say they're upper mid-tier. They are DEFINITELY not sharper or more long lasting than BMC (anyone saying anything else is sponsored by DSPIAE). But they're cheaper so still a good buy. These and the border/borderline scribing chisels are definitely far better than madworks or any of the other more common brands you see around (outside BMC, which again are hands down the kings but are priced accordingly).
