Oh, Poppy is now forming a connection with Kirsten how sweet. I think she'll understand Amy now for not introducing her right away as her girlfriend, that joint custody might have been one of the reason.
She’s just a grandma being cautious about her granddaughter and the potential people in her lives. The fact that they are even willing to consider joint custody with Amy, since she technically has no claim on Poppy, says they are decent people. Truly, grandma seemed most troubled that Amy hadn’t been talking to Kirsten about the custody issue.
I have seen eps 1-4 but only clips of ep 5. I’m not sure how to take Kirsten’s reaction here. Is she upset Amy didn’t tell her about the possibility of custody? Or is she upset at herself for pushing Amy when it turns out that Amy’s “in-laws” did know about their relationship and are ok with it? Or is it because Amy hadn’t told them they broke up? I wish we had a better idea of timeframe. Did they break up before the custody talks started or during?
Ok but disappointed because? At herself or Amy or both? And to be clear, for others talking about breaking up because of custody or to help chances, if that were any part of things Amy would have told Ian’s parents she wasn’t with Kirsten anymore. I feel like Amy needs to communicate better but I think Kirsten is letting her insecurities push Amy for too much too fast.
i think it suggested that she was upset because they had a fight about telling/meeting the in-laws when in reality they already knew. it seems amy is just bad at communicating, because kristen says something like “are you ashamed of us?” in the flashback which is the reason kirsten is crying, so it seems that amy isn’t actually ashamed and just failed to communicate that, perhaps kirsten is realising she was being too harsh in that conversation which was adding to the sadness
also, what makes it harder is they can’t talk about these feelings until amy gets back so she’s possibly feeling regret for not talking before amy put herself in a potentially life threatening situation, since they currently can’t contact vigil and kirsten knows they’re being hunted. it’s definitely a mix of things but mostly i think kirsten is realising that amy was never ashamed, just possibly a bit stubborn and very bad at communicating
Kirsten is surprised that Amy didn’t tell the grandparents that they had broken up. It’s heartwarming for Kirsten that Amy didn’t actually want to break up with her and kept up appearances with the grandparents. Kirsten cries alone in her car after this scene; this revelation is tragic for Kirsten because she realizes she was assuming and accusing Amy of the wrong things and that Amy was battling more than Kirsten understood.
No. The grandparents weren’t like that. They just wanted to know Kirsten better. If someone was going to break up for custody, it would have been Amy, and I get the impression Kirsten ended things.
Poppy is the daughter of Amy's partner who died when they are in a car accident, where she had only chance to save one and she chose Poppy while the father died. That's why she had been depressed.
@@kadiagrace5993 Poppy has called her mum. I think that's were people we're confused, but Amy was in a relationship with Poppy's father and they would have been married if it weren't for the accident.
pov: amy comes back from being on vigil, she tells kirsten that she loves her, they get custody of poppy and live happily ever after
Gonna be one hell of a finale! I hope they reconnect in the end.
Now you good and damn well aint no happy endings in drama shows with Lgbtq characters lol
It's listed as Season 1.. ugh.. I'm afraid we're going to have to wait for season 2.. then.. exactly that happy ending. 😊
@@shorty1103 thumbs down, only cause you are right..
2023. All that happened and now they have a baby on the way.

i felt the vibe that the grandma was a little against Amy's relationship with Kirsten.

Nah, Grandma and Grandpa are decent people. They're just concerned about the well-being of their grandchild.
Great job!
Utterly gutted that I can't watch this series in Brazil, nor am I allowed to get a BBC account to do so.
I hate those restrictions, don’t even understand the point of them
I play Poppy! 🤍
Great acting Orla!
Wow. You're a very sweet child!
The people on twitter who thought they were the same person XD

I don't think she's upset. I mean she's disappointed and confused.

What? What? Break up so the grandparents won't object to joint custody?????
No. The grandparents weren’t like that. They just wanted to know Kirsten better. If someone was going to break up for custody, it would have been Amy, and I get the impression Kirsten ended things.
Plus Amy would have told them she broke up with Kirsten if their relationship was an issue in her getting joint custody.
Still disagree with the grandparents. Grandma is the wrong one and grandad is in the right.
I'm fairly sure they're both on the same page?
👍
i haven't seen the show, but is Poppy Amy's niece or her child?
it’s not clear on if she’s her daughter or step daughter but i’m assuming step daughter since poppy doesn’t call her mum
Poppy is the daughter of Amy's partner who died when they are in a car accident, where she had only chance to save one and she chose Poppy while the father died. That's why she had been depressed.
Amy dated poppy’s dad. Poppy wanted Amy to marry her dad but then the accident happened.

@@nirachien2274 so Poppy isn't Amy's biological child with her partner who died in the car crash?
