There are a few drummers hat are arguably more “extreme” but nobody can touch the smoothness and fluidity of his playing at the level of extremity that he does.

Something about the drumming on this album is special. People can say whatever they want about Tony being sloppy live. When he was on, he was amazing. And the blasts on In Their Darkened Shrines... just sound aggressive and mean. George might be able to hit higher speeds, but when you're playing over 250bpm ... who really cares about an extra 20bpm. Churning the Maelstrom was one of the fastest things ever recorded up to that point, and Tony doesn't really accent every quarter note or 8th note on blasts like George does, which is extremely hard to do and adds to the sense of urgency. That being said, George is top shelf, without a doubt.
Origin, Cytotoxin, Henker, Archspire, Cryptopsy, Infant Annihilator (beware all the hate mentioning them somewhere hahaha), maybe Cattle Decapitation, Kataklysm and Braindrill come this fast too \,,\ ofc there's more
