Kunio’s best games are all on Famicom. The ports and sequels can’t compete. Fight me.

I played this game for months when I was a kid and I never noticed the flaw with the AI. I used super shots to wear down the enemy. Kunio's super is so broken it can clear the whole screen :D
Even with all its flaws, I love this game with the plot, the amazing music and because how much fun is to play it. Yeah the AI flaw is there but you have the option of not exploit it.
wow yeah that's a pretty significant gap in the CPU AI there. maybe if I get back around to Kunio/DD Collection I might try it. but yeah these are probably more fun against a human opponent.
What's with the choppy framerate? I recall that the soccer game was pretty smooth in comparison, so I wonder what happened there. Apparently this was slated for release in NA as "Crash & The Boys: Ice Challenge" but was cancelled.
I'm not a big fan of the Kunio-kun sports games, but for some reason I still like the nearly unplayable flickery dodgeball-bu. It's probably just because of good memories playing with friends. This game is solidly made. If I was into Hockey, I'd love it. The MMC3 chip is really flexing its muscle here with these big sprites and fairly smooth animations with little flicker.
Kunio games often provide the best sports games of any given genre, but this one got boring fairly quickly once I'd figured out how easy it was to score in it. In any case, no Famicom game can match the GOAT Blades of Steel.

5:19 There should have been an anime featuring Kunio ❗️

I'm a little surprised you didn't mention the game's canceled localization Crash 'n' the Boys: Ice Challenge (unless I missed it).

How is turning your hockey puck into a small bear legal?
