The fact of the matter is, that the 2009 edition of _Britain's Got Talent_ was absolutely STACKED with extraordinary talent. Aside from Diversity and Susan Boyle, another legendary act I remember distinctly from that season was Stavros Flatley. This video almost literally broke the internet back in 2009, everyone worldwide was talking about Susan Boyle, and everyone suddenly knew who Susan Boyle was after just this audition. She didn’t win, but she won in life, she sold millions of records and to me , she is one if the worlds greatest living singers who belong in the same level as Streisand and Celine Dion. If you don’t believe me, just listen to one of her many albums she has recorded over the years since then. I guess she went to audition at the right time, but who knows how much more music we would have from her if she was discovered in the 80’s, 90’s, or even the early 2000’s.

Her story is widely known. She wasn't "kept under wraps for decades due to judgmental people"
She's on the Autistic Spectrum, and even when touring it was very hard for her because of that, and I believe even stopped touring because it was too hard. She went on BGT after a lifetime of caring for her mother. And to this day, while she owns a mansion, she actually lives in her same house where she always lived

@@terriertz5134 there's nothing in her story about trying and trying to audition and being shut out. She spent her life caring for her mother, and she's autistic. Even though I'm in the UK I don't watch these types of programmes, but it made the news not just here but in other parts of the world, what it shows is that you should never judge a book by the cover, too many people are very quick judging others by how they might come across or look, Susan has had a great career from coming second on the show and I think she was also diagnosed within the Autistic Spectrum, which gives hope to others, no matter what challenges you may have, you can have a good life given the chance

The judgement from the crowd is shocking. I watched it live and cried then too. I have rewatched this over and over again, trying to listen to it for the first time again. This was an incredible event to see the first time. What a journey she had! No, she didn't win, a gymnastics troupe did, I think. But she has put out many cds and eventually learnt to handle fame. She'd been told all her life that she had suffered a brain injury at birth, and that's why she was slow..... After fame came her way, she was diagnosed with not being slow but being on the spectrum (having 'Aspergers', in the old diagnosis), which changed her life! She's an incredible singer (obviously!) and did end up singing a duet with the incredible Elaine Page, on stage. - Her dream come true.

I can hear it 2-3 times in a row and for some reason my body gets goosebumps. Like Im sitting serious and enjoying this but my body and my heart is like taking the notes and her tone into some deep level of touching me. She does this completely unconsciously.
Im a very harsh judge, I need to hear a special voice to be moved. She has it, thus she sold so far around 25 mil of records. Her voice man.... it touches everyone.
If you think that Gaga doing all those extreme clownish stuff to get attention has sold 65 millions, and Susan 25 mil just by opening her mouth, man.... she is technically one the most successful singer in the last 15 years.
All modern singers play a persona to get attention, Susan just naturally has it. She has our attention.

She was the absolute best that year (possible the best in the history of the show), nobody were near her.
