    I think with the camera thing, it's also what I have stopped doing, taking a camera with me. I found that it was getting in the way of me just enjoying the ride. Tech definitely has it's place, but it can also be a big distraction. I'm back to just using a helmet camera.

    I’ve been quite surprised that my garage videos do better than my ride out videos! Do you find that sometimes? I really struggle sometimes to understand why some videos do better than others. As for monetisation, I think that UA-cam’s methods of payment are just downright weird. Having spoken to other UA-camrs about the subject I’m thinking that getting on the monetary treadmill would be a great way to make life just that little more depressing! 😂 if I ever get to the dizzy heights of subscription that will allow me to monetise, I will just content myself with a super thanks button….. I’ll never make nearly enough to cover the costs involved with my equipment purchases to date 😂😂😂😂

      I think the only way to make more is using Patron etc, I’m not going out my way as i think its only UA-cam really making the money!
      Be getting more cycling films done again with G and back to using music i like and not bother with monetising those films, and just use monetising
      on Enfield and garage films 😁 folk do like garage stuff! Look at 2wheel wullie! 😜😁👍

    Morning Bruce. I will just add, in part two of my recent ride (being released soon), I mention something along the same lines regarding why I started my channel. It’s so easy to get into focusing on pleasing the UA-cam algorithm , rather than riding for pleasure. I have noticed, since I had a break for a couple of weeks (when my head went on a wobble), UA-cam aren’t promoting my vids as they were, when I was putting out a couple of vids a week.

      Hi Ian, i gave it a go but seem to have panned out on income, still get new subscribers daily and a small core group who usually comment on whatever the content is not just the Enfield so happy to do films now for those folks and prob not monetise the cycling and coast films etc so i can use the music i want to use 😁👍
      Mates think the whole thing is a scam and no way certain individuals get 60k views in an hour on a subject as small as say a motorcycle esp when all they are doing is waffling 🤣😁
      Film for fun not numbers i say! 👍👍👍😁

    Jeep and garage looking fresh Bruce. 😎 I considered starting a channel, even uploaded a couple of "videos", but changed my mind for the same reasons. Putting up with snow and - 10 average tmps for 5 months may also have influenced my decision 😂. I've followed you very soon after you got your bike and have thoroughly enjoyed your work and content, and will continue to do so whatever/whenever you post. Cheers mate 👍🥃

    Yes, pace yourself, Bruce! Thought you had put out a lot of videos recently (although enjoyable). Most people seem to put out 2 a week at the same time every week which is good for consistency, but does not seem very spontaneous. I guess folks like to a routine, like the telly, if anyone still watches that! Bike videos give a lot of clout to bike manufacturer sales, but as you said, you must ride the thing yourself. A good test ride, not half an hour around the block!

      If you search through a couple of years back while it is mostly off road cycling on the coast there is a lot of local history and esp WW2 posts,

    Evening Bruce. Have you noticed what Google have done to the adverts recently ? They have made the advert break about 40-50 seconds long, but with about 4-5 short adverts within the break. I also have non-skipable on mine, but very rarely do they show up…..instead, there is a countdown to when you can skip it, but it is after the 40-50 seconds. A bit naughty me thinks, so where I might put two in a 30 minute video, I have reduced it to one. Basically, UA-cam/Google will be getting paid more, but I bet that won’t be shared with us ! 😢 plus, this new tactic, reduces the continuity of our videos. I think the main reason is, that they want more people to pay for the “Ad Free” service. Crafty buggers !

      Hi Ian, i have noticed this and you describe it perfectly which i missed from saying so in this film, also i did not directly mention for fear of being penalised by them about the views of films by people using Patron,
      The only folk making any money out of time spent on here is obviously UA-cam and only a select few channels seem to get massive views and loads of promotion on all subjects not just motorcycles

    • @Coastriderscotland
      @Coastriderscotland  3 місяці тому

      Adding on things just dont add up on the views of some folks films, take Tiger Ness and his camshaft film on his 350, it roared up on views then has stalled at 71K views which while loads if this was a first (which it was) on some certain big channels it would be over a million views now,

    Ive said it a few times to different Vloggers as well as yourself Bruce, I don't know where you find the time to do everything you do and edit and publish the videos, hours of work , and I always watch them all the way to the end, unless I get interrupted or have to do something job wise and then continue later , Yours and other down to earth vloggers that I follow are much appreciated, as you're more in the everyday real world of motorcycling, but yeah you guy's deserve a but of a wind down or a break occasionally to enjoy your own time and rides !
    Cheers Mel 🍻

      Hi Mel, cheers, and much appreciated your thoughts on the channels of us wee guys!
      Sometimes it does feel like your on a hiding to nothing if you step back as see the rewards for your input time, but comments from folk like yourself make it worth it 😁👍👍👍

    I had to try and get rid of tyres a while back. The only way I found to do it was to take them to a local bike or car garage and ask if they will take them. Sometimes they will just do it, other times they will want to charge you a fee. Our local "recycle" centre won't take them either!

    • @Coastriderscotland
      @Coastriderscotland  3 місяці тому +1

    Hi coast rider Scotland try taking your tyer to the recycling sit because they take old tyres to help you get rid e of it for you because they take tyres at the council tip in the West Midlands England

    Great Jeep and congratulations for the garage ! Good example! I have to do the same in mine 😅 I'm also a Jeep fan and my car is 2011 Wrangler that gave me 200'000 km of stressless cruising and commuting pleasure untill now! I look forward the next 200'000 😉 It was a good preparation for the Royal Enfield Himalayan rythm on the road 😄
