Someone once slagged me off for being so in to Yes. They said there were too many notes. I said well which ones would you leave out. 😎🎸
Chris always made all notes sound good, many or few ;)
OWNED! 😂
My very first Yes album and the reason I started playing bass 😊
Hi Simon! Thanks for being here!
Try the Yes Album. It's a masterpiece.
Relayer Is My Favorite Yes Album + To Be Over is my all time favoreit song
Wow, you dove in deep! 🤣
Such a crazy song and album. Excellent performance as always. For as frantic as the bass lines are, it still manages to hold the song together. Pat Moraz was such a cool influence on YES for this record.
Yep, Moraz was great. To Be Over. Wonderful.
Thank you very much Dave! Moraz's contribution in Relayer is wonderful indeed!
YES! SO GLAD YOU DID THIS MIGUEL-PERFECT TIMING!
Thank you very much, Rand!
Always incredible song!!!
One of my favorite !!!👏
Thank you very much dear friend, I am happy to know you’re enjoying the videos! All the best 🎶
This album got me from liking Yes to loving them. Great job as always... and an amazing song. Love the way he wrote the lines.
And so do I :) Thank you!
Chris Squire is mandatory study for any serious bassist and Miguel is the man to show how it's done.
Thank you very much, Nelson!
Exactly. Even if it makes me understand it's even more difficult as I imagined…
Great work! Best band ever!
Salutes from Argentina!
Thanks Damián!
Excellent job, Miguel! Whew -- that'll give your picking hand a workout!
Be sure it did :)))) Thank you!
Thanks for this. Chris Squire was such a genius, and you really make that clear with this video. You have to be pretty god dam talented to even cover his bass parts. respect!
Thank you so much for watching and for your kind comments!

40 plus years I have known this music...it is just now donning on me that the mid section of this piece is reminiscent of Tales. Great job as always Miguel! Happy birthday Chris!

Miguel is the "Go to guy" for CS bass lines.
Thanks and welcome to my channel :)
You still have the mystic touch...ever revealing sounds we have not heard embedded in the song.
Thank you very much, I do try to bring that up
Great job Miguel
Thank you!
Why they haven't picked You up is beyond me for I can feel the music is in your soul and you enjoy playing it. Keep it up
Hi Art, thank you so much, I will!
magic
Thank you very much!
Another first rate and outstanding birthday tribute!
Thank you very much!
Superb, Miguel, as always! A great pleasure for me to watch your videos as a drummer who is a frustrated bass player at heart. I had a day yesterday appreciating the playing of another great bass player, the late John Glascock, and now my Sunday starts with Miguel paying tribute to Chris on Sound Chaser!
Hello John - thank you very much. I just looked up for John Glascock and I will take your suggestion for listening today. All the best.
Excelente como siempre Miguel !!
Gracias Alexis!
Miguel Squire 😉👍🏻
Greetings Magnus🙌
Well Done
Thank you!
Sheer genius
Thanks for watching!
Impressive.
Thank you!
How come I’m a bassist and I’ve never heard of this track till now?!
Had you heard of Chris Squire before, Jamal? You're in for a treat! All the best and thanks for watching the videos.
Yes Yes Yes And YES SWEET For me the last truly great progressive album from Yes For me it was the end of an era Very well done sir
Thank you my friend!
Perfect! Miguel, you are a treasure.
Thank you, dear Michael.
Amazing! I expected you to cover this song for so long. Extraordinary job. Greetings from Costa Rica
Thank you! Happy you liked it :)
Ahhh I've been waiting for this for so long... this is fantastic
Hi Tim! Thanks for waiting and being here!
AWESOME JOB WITH A PROG MASTERPIECE...I'd feel like the coolest mofo If I could rock this bassline; especially on that beautiful Ric... The Ric, played with a plectrum, like Chris did, gives such a sharp sound. Howe's chops in this song are amazing too!
Thank you very much for watching! This sure is a tough one!
Magnificent. 👍🏻
Thank you, Nigel!
wow.
Um abraço, Paul!
I love your videos. Great job, brother!!
Thank you so much, Sal. All the best 🎶
Incredible, Miguel. I can finally see how it’s played. Obrigado! Actually playing it is another matter though! That bass line has intrigued me since I started playing bass in the late 70’s (I still play on my 1976 model 4001 and just love the sound out of these basses). Anyhow, Chris would be proud and impressed by your rendition. Can’t give you a better compliment! Keep it up, Miguel.
Thank you so much for your words, I will keep it up for sure!
awesome job!!! priceless performance as usual!!!
Thank you so much Flavio!
Parabéns, Miguel. Mais uma vez além, de uma magistral execução, uma linda homenagem ao grande Chris Squire.
Congrats, Miguel. Once again not only an awesome playing you rendered a kind homage to the great Chris Squire.
Muito obrigado, Sérgio! Abraço!
Miguel, I really worry because you have not uploaded any video in almost a year, but you came back and form and majesty, good video
Dear Eli, thank you very much - It's been a busy season lately. Glad to know you're there and thanks as always for your support!
So so so so so so good you improve like wine. Obrigado sempre - Paul.
Thank you dear Paul!
Maravilloso Miguel!!!!! es uno de mis discos favoritos de Yes y la línea de bajo es increíble!! Super bien tocada!!! Mis felicitaciones para vos!!!
Muchas gracias caro Oso!
Utterly Brilliant. Top Marks - why aren't you replacing Sherwood in Yes????
Thank you very much!
Bloody brilliant Miguel!! Wonderful! A triumph! Thanks you sooo much. (I've been following you but changed my name since the last time I commented). Thanks again my friend!
Thank you very much!
Imortal music
Fantastic !!!
Merci Lionel!
Yes!
:) indeed! Thanks for watching
凄いよ。
miguelbassさん、練習は大変だったでしょうね。素晴らしいプレイでした。
Thank you dear friend - it was quite hard, even because I never had quite tried to play it before - although I listened to it so many times! All the best.
Just superb ! My hats off to you Sir ! I will be learning this from your video. I have one question: the part from 5.35 - as far as I can tell, Squire only played this live. Do you hear this part on the studio version ?
John - I have noticed that part in the live versions, but after listening to the studio version I have tracked the same part, although it's barely audible. Thank you!
Cool video. Great job!
Thanks Richard!
I’ve been playing bass for 2 years and have recently been delving deeper into the way Chris played. Any tips for his picking technique? I know he developed a way to hit the string with both his thumb and pick because of his big hands and I was wondering if there was any advice with pick position.
That is correct - I don't have such big hands, however I like to use a similar technique. Chris also held the pick backwards, so the back side of the pick would be the part to hit the strings.
Love it !
Thank you so much, Jesse!
Fabulous
Thank you Tim!
Thank you Tim!
WOW!
Thanks for watching!
Bravo, Miguel! Eu gosto!
Obrigado David!
incredible, amazing, wonderful... valeu meu dia! Valeu o mês
Muito obrigado Márcio - aquele abraço!
VERY VERY GOOD!! Bravissimo!! The name of effects please!! Thank you!!
Hi Stefano. In the quiet middle section I added the reverb that comes in reaper, plus a delay plug-in which makes the echo-doubler sound. The rest is the normal sound with a bit of overdrive, applied independently to each pickup because I have a stereo output.
Grazie!
What is it you are playing at 5:35 onwards? I don't hear that on the record.
It's way too low in the mix - it can be better hear in live versions, from where I took it. Although the tempo on live versions is quite more unstable in this section.
Você é demais Miguel! Nenhum detalhe lhe escapa! E está muito fiche esta sua melodia a partir dos 05:35
Obrigado Vinicius! E o que será essa melodia? Resposta em breve - grande abraço!
miguelbass Ficarei no aguardo! Abração!
Ouve as versões ao vivo que as notas revelar-se-ão :)
ua-cam.com/video/zf9D3GkNVM8/v-deo.html Muito interessante como de certa forma, esta melodia se encaixa com a harmonia da guitarra!
Would you be able to do Final Eyes or Endless Dream?
I would love to try those two :)
Now you know why they OPENED with this. talk about a warm up.....
Actually it gets much more than warm ;)
Wow! VERY well done! Good mix too! For what it's worth here's a GOD video I did. ua-cam.com/video/nM9Zbrf9p7s/v-deo.html
Thanks and congratulations on your analysis! I had came across your clip before :)
Thank you! I see a lot of your other videos that I'll be checking out!
Miguel, cómo ha crecido tu técnica. Realmente impresionante. Felicitaciones!
Mucas gracias amigo. Saludos!
This was so excellent. I can't say enough how you great you are and how you're playing a huge part in keeping the magnificent Chris Squire spirit alive. This is inspiring!
Thank you very much, John!
Great job this album has some of my favorite Chris Squire lines. The whole album is phenomenal.
Thank you very much, Joe!
Blimey - how on earth do you keep up?
:))) Chris' inspiration! Thanks Peter!
Caro Miguel, tudo bem? Sou do Brasil e acompanho sempre todos os seus vídeos. Parabéns pelo trabalho. Abraços.
Muito obrigado Samir, um abraço!
Happy birthday Chris! We miss you.
Thank you for joining me celebrating Chris' anniversary. Greatly missed, indeed.
Wow. I knew it sounded complex but that's wild. Chris was one in a million
Hi Paul! Thank you very much! He sure was...
Awesome Miguel! You just get better and better.. Dedication!
Thank you so much, I keep trying my best!
I don't see how that can be done Without a pick.
BRAVO!!! Awesome playing, excellent effects...
Thank you very much, David!
Incredible...almost unbelievable that you got a perfect take alongside the band. What dedication this takes. The video was very well made. Thank you. Fascinating to see these baselines featured. Squires compositional style is unrivaled. Great work
Thank you very much. Will!
If ever a person worthy of the fine bass you hold, you Sir are the one. I am truly in awe of your talent and musicianship. Thank you once again for sharing and inspiring.
Hello Tony - thank you again for the support and enthusiasm you transmit!
Spectacular playing ALways thought Patrick Moraz was underrated thought too
Thank you very much!
so glad to see you back miguel - been waiting for soundchaser and you nailed it :-) all the best from your friend phil, originally London, England, now MI USA...
Thank you Philip, glad to know you enjoyed it! :)
You're videos are great, I just have one comment about the audio. It would be awesome if you turn down the song to emphasize the baseline, or if possible isolate the bass to left or right channel (or another channel if you are able to post multi-channel audio files)
Thank you very much! I will think of such a feature in the future!
I've always thought that was an amazing Squire bass line. Love the sound you got Miguel.
Thank you very much Dan!
This intro was largely worked out during Pat's audition. I can hear why they hired him.
It was fantastic!
For me the Rick sound is the best in the world,You have a very good talent.Bye😊!
Thanks Michel! Greetings!
Holy shmoly, I couldn't play this one with four hands, very nice
Thank you! All the best!
Miguel qui joue "Sound chaser", et parfaitement bien sûr, c'est juste une évidence. Bravo maestro
Merci, cher Philippe.
So excellent Miguel! I'll only ever dream of playing the bass a fraction as well as you!
Thank you Stan, you're well on your way ;)
Applause 🙏🙌👍
Thank you Jesse!!
