Just want to say I love the angle that you used for this casting video. It helps the viewer so much more to see the actual distance then a chest cam
I been fishing the Curado BFS in lakes and streams. It does very well fishing in streams for trout. A bearing upgrade will make it even better for casting trout lures and for accuracy.
What kind of brarings? Microball?

i wish Majorcraft still sold the BFS rods on their site. The Curado BFS looks really nice on the Speedstyle!
Just took mine down to the Texas coast last weekend and it worked really well on under slot red fish about 14”. Can’t wait to get some keeper speckled trout and slot reds on it later this year.
RX Angler does the same fishing as you do and he uses BFS alot
I’ve had my Curado BFS for over a month, fished it @ 10 times, love, love, love it. I could never cast my spinning setup like this setup. I have it paired with the Zodias BFS rod, it it smokes the light stuff, and smooth as a baby’s ass. Can’t wait to take it to the river for trout.
What's the specs on the zodius bfs rod mate,
@@mearziefishing2210 it’s the 7’2 ML. I think Shimano makes two models specifically for BFS the other is like 6’6. Line rating is 7-14 lbs, and lure rating is 5-15 grams, 3/16-1/2 oz. I’m throwing 8 lb. test. I don’t have many finesse hard baits but have been catching some with the Curve 55 squarebills from 6th sense.
I own one. And it's amazing. 1/8 size on a Phenix Feather Light fast action. The combo is so good
I just got the curado bfs and ordered a phenix feather light . I was happy when I saw your comment 😂 because I couldn’t find anything with this combo. When I saw this I was happy I ordered the rod to pair with the bfs curado because o was having a hard time deciding. Reason I wanted the phenix feather because I have my other setups paired with my baitcaster. Glad you like it. What pound test are you using?

i'd like to see more daiwa alphas air tw videos , it is the most popular bfs reel among the new reels launched since 2020.Maybe a casting battle between shimano bad boys conquest and aldebaran bfs also abu bf8 ?
I really wish i could see the casting battle between Alphas Air TW vs Aldebaran BFS XG.
I ended up cancelling my preorder, bought it from aliexpress and got it in less than 10 days.
Thanks for all the great content. Have you tried throwing the same size lure (with the same line and a comparable rod) from a comparable quality spinning reel? I'd love to know how bfs compares to spinning in these situations and if it falls down for the super light ned type baits? Thanks!
spinning gear casts some bfs lures less far than a baitcaster, if you tune it to the perfect 0 tolerance point the spool will move like its basicallu weightless. And allow the lure to fly free because of the spool being horizontal. (without any line catching on itself because of the position)
Spinning however can get caught on its tiny ridges of line at a certain point in the cast, thus slowing it down and not getting as much distance.

Drone is interesting but you cant tell real distances or how it compares to other reels, so what did we learn?
Anyone tried curado bfs vs aldebaran bfs? Seems like the Curado is cheaper but I've always thought of Curado as a good reel. Wondering if the Aldebaran is any better or if Curado BFS is the way to go dollar for dollar.
The Aldebaran is better in every way. But the Curado BFS is still a great BFS reel, especially for bass fishing
Should try Shimano SLX DC XT as a BFS reel not marketed as one but can cast 2g havent tried any lower

Why do u use 0.20 mm line with 1,8 kg breaking? You can cast way further with thin braid like 0.06 braid
Since you were using the same rod and line for all casts, couldn't you have counted the handle turns on the retrieve? Wouldn't you get a pretty accurate idea of the RELATIVE distances attained with the different lures? Still not an accurate measurement of the absolute distance, but still interesting...

I noticed that in all of your videos you have to give a pretty wide estimate on how far you are casting. The drone was cool. Why not bring 2 rods. The rod and reel that is being reviewed and the other would be a rod and reel sturdy enough to cast a plastic ball or something enough to get out there and use a laser range finder and then use that distance to guestimate how far you are casting the ball. Just a thought.

I dont have one but Ive seen the Japanese test it and it can go down to 3 grams pretty easy.

I mean its a budget BFS reel. Im sure the Aldebaran will outcast it, probably the Alphas too

My personal preference for bass is 6-8lb straight flouro. 2-6lb straight flouro for trout.

Another excellent review. Of all the Shimano BFS reels where does this one have its niche. For me I love using the SLX BFS and Scorpion BFS in the Saltwater as I have confidence in the drag system and because I feel the spools are a little more robust. What do you think is the difference between them all?

In the Instruction Guide of my Curado BFS XG it says: "The spool is designed only for Fluoro & Braided line. Do not use Nylon line." No futher explanation. Any idea why I shouldn't? You are using Nylon mono, aren't you?

Been watching your videos for years, I knew you used Crappie Maxx for testing, but what do you prefer for fishing? I mean from UL to H, would love to see a video about YOUR line preferences per technique. I use 8lb Sufix 832 on my BFS, but have considered 4-5lb Sunline Sniper...

If u can afford it I'd go with a metanium mgl. Or a Budget friendly a slx. Haven't seen the new mgl curado in person but being its light and sits low I'd say its be a good choice too
I would pick the MGL 150 because it will out cast the Daiwas

Hi, Did you have to degrease the bearings - using acetone or isopropyl alcohol - before the reel would perform at its best? I ask because others found they had to do this as the Shimano grease applied in the factory was too thick.

Curado bfs is amazing but i think you overestimate your casts. 100 ft + comes down to around 40-45 full cranks(82cm per crank) to retrieve the bait. Did not look like that at all.
He said 100 foot not yards when he threw the plastic lure if that is what your talking about
