Burley is right about tribalism. Nowadays it’s all about fans and rival fans point scoring with each other. They’d much rather see their rivals lose than their own team win. Social media just breeds these clowns
Yeah I'm a utd fan and I really don't care about Liverpool or City etc.the fan channels, adults acting like school children make this worse still. AFTV and united stand and the like are a cancer.
@@Hawkeye19821 Agreed. I'm a gooner and most of the people on AFTV are utter twats. They're childish morons. They turn on their own players one week then sing their praises the next. Pathetic.
Yeah I’ve noticed how social media has massive amount of “fans” just insulting each other. Almost to the point where hating other teams seems to be more important than supporting your own.
14 weeks? Oh yeah that will teach him.. 10 year ban? Cya in 2029 Jack...... This is such a joke from the FA. If we don't stop this now, it will only grow further. Lifetime Ban for all games and 6 months jail time at least.
So TRUE. a joke. He will be out in 7!!!!!! Wow. Give him a year minimum. Never put them on TV.
Tbf social medias make the football environment so toxic this days, youtube comment section included.
14 weeks is a slap on the wrist. he would have got a few years if it was someone on the streets.
as a football fan ,that was a beautiful moments at the end.
Blaming social media is a cop out. There has always been hooliganism and it was much worse in the past
Eoghan Bourke exactly Craig even said there was tall gates back in the days for exactly that
“Those who are willing to trade liberty for security deserve neither.”
Yeah they should remove all security measure from football grounds and just allow fans liberty to go where they please, that will solve all the problems and nothing will go wrong
@@jebediahspringfield9496 That's not the point.
The point is you can't shut down speech on social media because two drunk Brits charged the pitch
Villa blues is the most fierce Derby in England. It might not be the biggest granted, especially with it not in the premier league, but it's defo top 5 overall in the U.K.
Security should guard the crowd all across the pitch but they might get hit by a ball
It's the decline of society, plain and simple. I personally believe that all players should beat any pitch invader into a coma. Why didn't any players put spikes to his face? A well placed tackle to the netheregions should also suffice.
Wow, good idea, and then the crowd invades the pitch.
@@macker33 I see what you're saying but fuc*ers gotta learn, you come fu*k around @ my place of employment and there's consequences.
two wrongs don't make a right.
@@tomatoisnotafruit5670 ...BUT IT CERTAINLY MAKES US EVEN.
@@MADGUNSMONSTER then that makes you no different then that other dude, maybe even worse. Taking the high ground is always the better choice.
It could be argued that social media gives a space for certain types to vent their anger and spew their point of view as not to have it boiling inside which can be more dangerous.
All the blokes here speak a great deal of sense. Villa fan here
2 years in prison and don’t EVER show them on TV 📺.
Send that guy that punched the player in jail for 10 years. I'm pretty sure people will think about it before they go on the pitch. The team should not be punished.
Not to mention it's going to become a legal issue if you're jeopardizing the safety of your players
Honestly, Jack has handled it well. But, there should be more searches. Just not searching bras against Grimsby Town.
I bet the so called fan was screaming abuse at the player before he came on the pitch and the Stewards and Police did nothing that's where the problem starts
only 14 weeks wtf
Ban him from football next he will probably attack wesley
Need a 10 point deduction. Pretty sure that will take care of it.
do anything to destroy my club! let a Chinese money laundering crook buy it. f.a does fuck all! try to buy new players to gain promotion give us a transfer embargo and threaten us with a point deduction now threatening us with another point deduction. we had the 1st million pound player we're the 1st club to become a plc 1st English club to win at the san siro had mangers like sir Alf Ramsey but you guys don't care just want to see us gone. KRO
It's just a bit of fun and banter if you ask me. Doesn't mean no harm, just stop talking about it as a major thing in football.
That sucker punch was pathetic!!
why cant you steward the ground?? of course you can.
You prevent this from happening by making an example of this idiot. He should be doing a year jail time for aggregated assault or whatever the equivalent is in the UK
Yeah I thought a year would be suffice. It's weird that he says he wasn't drinking and it was just a rush of blood to the head. He also said he had originally went on just for a laugh. He is a very dangerous Man make no mistake. Anyone who does that in front of millions of people is capable of anything in private. He has a kid and a pregnant wife.
don't be stupid, the punishment has to fit the crime, he didn't do anything that says he should be in jail his entire life, you guys are just a bunch of sensitive and hateful snowflakes. 14 week is plenty of time for his crime.
@@tomatoisnotafruit5670 I said a year...
@@choppaa4204 yeah a year is too long for one punch that did absolutely no damage.,
The guy probably immediately regretted it when he had time to actually think about it. He's probably not even that bad a guy, no doubt had some idiotic friends jeering him on. A few weeks in jail and a ban is adequate. Footballers aren't royalty and punching them isn't a greater sin than punching anybody else.
Anyone calling for more punishment is deluded. The crime was that he punched a man; he could have done much worse. 14 weeks in jail + a lifetime ban from all games is a fair consequence for his actions.
We all lose we all win its very stupid for fans to attack players.
Craig is absolutely right!
I don't know how anyone can say the tribalism is worse now than the 60s and 70s.
stupid ain't they?
does moreno have a black eye?
@Marx was right 😂😂😂😂😎
Nobody is talking about the fact that a Birmingham City steward also kicked Jack Grealish after he scored the winning goal. Most City fans are an absolute disgrace. If we learned anything from the Hillsborough disaster, it's that we can't go back to fences around the pitch to keep the hooligans out. That's not the solution, and honestly I don't know what is.But tribalism is the word of the day. And this doesn't just apply to just sports, but politics as well, especially here in the US. People are nuts.
Villa fans are no better.
Did anyone watch one of the stewards pushing Grealish as well?
Edgar Hernandez it looked like he was also arrested
you mean like what they are suppose to do. when are players going to get booked for jumping into the crowd. not that, that crooked ref wanted to book any villa players that day.
@@L1am21 The other stewards didn't think it was appropriate since they dragged him out. Who am I to judge? I suppose. Of course, i'm not the one that needs a solicitor...or is it a barrister? I always forget.
Football can learn something from cricket stadiums in India...just put 10-12 ft cages around the lower stand
Kapil Gupta there’s a small reason we don’t do that pal
Football has always been so far behind in making a safe environment because they're obsessed with fans making their own atmosphere. They are arguably the worst sport in the world in terms of dealing with racism. This just perpetuates fans to think they have control of the stadiums
Fans need to be careful. They need to learn the lessons from Argentinian soccer, where it got so bad that away fans are not allowed
The fan was played at Birmingham City's ground and it was a Birmingham City supporter attacking an Aston Villa player.
jeffisontheair i forgot to mention the fence with barbed wire, with riot police ready for action
For the home fans
Conspiracy theorist to blame for a fella running on the pitch ? Really mate what are you on about
A brick, really?
No discussion about the arsenal fan? surely the same topic?
@@Peaxutbutterjam still the fan was allowed to get on the pitch and touch a player, not completely different although I agree he didn't hurt smalling as much as the other guy did to grealish. At the end of the day, he should be punished with atleast half the jail time as the Birmingham guy. So I'm looking at 7 weeks of prison soap if my math is right
@@Peaxutbutterjam I wouldn't say it's completely different at all. It's not as bad but it's similar.
No they won't talk about punishment to Arsenal the media love them.
The home team should've walked out. Finish the game with closed doors.
BROperatorTIME no because Super Jack wouldn’t have delivered poetic justice
The punishment does not fit the crime. This cowardly bastard should have received a lifetime Birmingham FC season ticket as punishment for what he did. He would soon regret his actions having to watch them wankers week in, week out.
SOTV KRO
I woulda go kicked out that game if I wAs grealish teammate cause I would of been stomping that dude out with the bottom of my cleats lol
Give me a break. It's in no way worse than it was in 1980s. It's just one incident or two. In a long time. You can't put security everywhere - fans are traditionally very close to pitch in U.K. Let's not jump to predictable "more security more police" response. Stop creating hysteria. Fans who write on social media aren't necessarily ones who go to the matches. And how can he have a knife if there is already good security at entrance?
Thanks for saying this. It was one incident. Compared to the violence seen some years ago this is nothing.
Everybody stop clutching their pearls and take a deep breath. Everybody is shocked at this because is so rare. Take a look at the downright mob violence, riots and anarchy that used to be at games during the 70s and 80s. Families couldn't even take their children and GO to the games. They talk about they used to have cages up.......yeah well there was a reason for that. Because it was outright mob warfare at every game between fans. Why do you think to this day they have segregated home and away sections that are guarded by stewards at all times??? This is an outlier and the situation is NOTHING like it used to be. Everybody come out from under the bed and relax.
Yikes
Oof
Jack Grealish should be banned for diving, Forget someone running onto the ground if players are diving like that it's just as bad. Terrible look
you're ignorant. grealish does not dive, he legit gets fouled, he gets fouled so much that people just assume he dives... he is by far the most fouled person in the championship and he's been out for 3 months of the season too so hes not even been on the pitch as often as other players
@@naddieization he does dive all the time its the reason he gets fouled. he fucks players off!
