Thanks for the video. Went to Sir John A McDonalds HS in the 90s and this is where we hung out on the weekends. I now live in Houston, TX but this brings back memories.
That school is now closed. Most of the kids were shifted to Westdale or other schools. The downtown core is unrecognizable of how it was in the 1990s. Lots more street people. Violence occurs regularly in the mall and library.
That is closed. That was in the Bay and King area of the mall. They used to have an ice skating rink on the top floor. Nations is still going strong. It is the only grocery store near the mall.
You couldn't move in Jackson Square on a Saturday. Then limeridge mall was built and changed that! The mall needs a major architectural change especially to the exterior. With the amount of downtown condos going up in the next few years the mall will see crowds again . They should plan for that . 5:30
Use to actually have fully carpeted floors many many years ago. They got so grotty, then they changed to hard floors. It used to be packed with people! I remember going the Marks and Spencer store in the 1970’s.
That mall used to be so busy in the 80s and my favourite place to watch movies until the huge cinemas opened elsewhere. Brings back memories for sure. Sad to see so empty
The Toronto PATH system also looks empty nowadays without the office workers on site, maybe re-visit next year to see more pedestrian and retail. Nations is a great market.
Was born in hamiltion and remember the panhandlers and people playing music outside. I moved away in 82. the mall still looks empty and half used sad but cool to see again
Luv this mall n the adjacent one too, affordable prices n Nations rock with their hot food counters n sitting eating area. Landmark theartre is the best for its matinee movie price. The food court indian place is great 4 its Chole Bhatura
What a dump of a once great mall. The Eaton Centre Mall (or Hamilton City Centre) closed last year for a condo development. Freshii moved out. Nations has a lost a lot of business since the lockdown in 2020. There are many closed stores. It all went down hill when Eaton's closed in 2001. The vendors I know are trying to hang on but it is difficult. The market and library have reduced hours. There are street people with nothing to do everywhere. And there are increased levels of violent crime in the downtown core. Yet condo building keep getting built and rents continue to skyrocket.
Been decades and this was neat to see. Place is huge. Thanks for the walk.
It's a shell of what it once was. :(

Always loved the interior waterfall wall.

This is amazing. Haven’t been back in decades! So nostalgic, good to see Roots is still there!
Roots and Freshii moved out.
Damn that place is empty looks so different
Hello Tazz
Probably still because of the Covid restrictions that it was looking so empty...may be?

So great virtual reality walk tour. Thanks for sharing
Thank you for watching. I hope you are well!
changed so much I used to work downtown at a place called protocol
Protocol closed. There were a lot of call centers in the mall like S&P Data, Concentrix, and others.
yes so data I work there and a protocol I was one of the premier sales people at protocol but I hated SP data
In 2006 -2007 Hamilton Ontario Ever-changing city

Limeridge and the Meadowlands killed any business in Jackson Square.
Someone already encourage high end retailers to come to Jackson Square. We need Chanel, Gucci, YSL boutiques man 😅
yeah the crackheads need somewhere to drop a few Gs
frrr
crackheads would try to shoplift from there
No way that will ever happen. Too many punters and too many shoplifters.
so beautiful. I was impressed
I'm glad you enjoyed. Thank you for watching!

So sad how different it is now from late 90s early 00's when all the John A kids hung out there
I don't remember ever seeing it look that empty.

This has got to be one of the ugliest malls I've ever seen anywhere on this planet,..what a disgrace.
Jackson Square is so dead
