Michael Romeo in my opinion is the best guitarist/songwritter i've ever heard in my life so far and i've heard hell of a lot...just the way he thinks and progresses with his themes i consider to be unnautral...a pure genius , i can only hope and wait to hear at least 10 more albums from him
You can find literally anything in tablature in Japan. There are legions of 12 year old girls who can play Symphony X note for note over in Japan. You can find books of tablature from even the most obscure metal bands in Japan. It's crazy.
You are braver man than I for attempting Seven. That song sets my hand on fire. MJR is hands down my biggest influence next to Alexi Laiho (RIP). His playing is just so clean. If you have seen the video of him playing the Fear of the Unknown solo, you can see how little effort he seems to be putting into everything. A true master in riffs and leads.
I still practise Seven every day basically!!! Yeah Michael also seems to have no tension in his hands when he plays which is extremely impressive to me.
you have definitely inspired e to downtune my guitar and learn some MicheAL ROMEO! I've always considered Symphony X one of my favorite bands but never got around to learning his stuff mainly because I have been studying John Petrucci's playing for last 2 and a half years but also I don't wanna put my guitar a whole step down. But all the being said I am going to tackle Nevermore!
Great job Paul ! Totally agree , you choosed all my favorite riffs of the maestro ! I play now more in jazz , soul and funk band but still study and play agressive solos with harmonic minor , phrygian dominant tapping ....etc Thx again and hi from Paris !
I love Symphony x. Man I think you should check "Spread your" fire by "Angra". that solo is insane. I'm always trying to understand what happens inside Kiko's and Michael's heads when they're creating those incredible solos
Thank you so much for this video ! That’s unfortunately true that this band is very underrated and so does MR... Paradise Lost is in my top 5 album ! It’s so mean and beautiful too ! 🤘 Cheers from Tahiti !
Paradise lost is also my fav, a perfect mix of technique and feelings, maybe less prog than past albums but the songwriting here it's exceptional, also the mixing is top notch.
My favorites are the first 3albums. More classical element and molodies than the later ones. It would be wonderful if Michael do more lessons and workshops.
My number 1,Its great to see someone else who loves his work as much as me.Im 42 and old now lol but you mentioned about dark times etc, well about 18 months ago I had exactly that but I literally fell asleep with my guitar and woke up and off I went again,I've never done that but it was watching him and my personal favourite performances are on the 2005 Gigantour (I've lost the disk with Symphony X and Nevermore and dream theatre) I'm guessing its copyright and Dave Mustaine banning it because I cant find it at all,He inspired me to go from a player that had a great ear and patience but zero idea what I was doing to someone who dares to improvise live and sweep and all that nonsense, but I have to thank people like him to have that certain something that's special!......great playing by the way, seven looks ridiculous man. Lol.if you ain't seen it the Gigantour disks 2005 its seriously worth it!dream theatre play the glass prison and panic attack and they are the best I've ever seen them play. It's a shame it's not available on UA-cam because dream theatres performances are not available. Anyway cheers man.
Excellent video! I really like this idea for a serie, and hope for more bands. As a constructive suggestions, I would like to see some chord progressions or harmonies that are common in the band, if possible. It just an opinion. But the concept itself of the video is great!
Great expo of Romeo. Well chosen words and of course, superb playing! I wonder if you have done any videos on his solo albums recently released. Did you see/hear the solo on the song Hybrids. Fuck me. Lol
I love that solo but I feel like anyone who UA-cam's or Google's Symphony X will have already heard of it or seen it so I decided to do this video a little differently :)
@@PaulOuzounov i will do it and send it to you you just upload it’s pleasure for me as i’m huge symphony X fan i develop my alternate picking by playing just interludes haha

Micheal Romeo is one of the best guitarists of all time.
And in my opinion he is simply the best.
Agreed!!
I love Symphony X. My favorite album V.
This man is the most underrated guitar player ever. Is a TOTAL GENIUS: Technique, control, feeling, speed, originality... He deserves more
MJR is the best!!!
Excellent video Paul !
The things that I really love about Michael Romeo is how easy he make it look when he plays live, the guy is a magician !
super awesome video of one of the most underrated guitarists of all time, good job 👏
Can agree that Seven is the hardest song ever to learn by Michael Romeo.
Great video dude!
I've been listening to these guys since 2000. Great job in learning those songs! They're definitely no walk in the park!
If only Michael would release an official tab book...

@@scottdunn2178 yeah, they do, but some of the books are just awful - I had a few old Malmsteen ones that were pretty bad, maybe thing are better now
If only Romeo (and Symphony X) would release anything. 2 records in 10 years (3 if we include his solo album)... ._.

Thanks so much! I hope to get better and better at it!
Do Humanity's last breath! They have alot of interesting techniques! Kool idea!
Going to the edmonton show!!
Dude i could watch your channel all day. What about the infamous sea of lies tapping solo?
I love that solo but I feel like anyone who UA-cam's or Google's Symphony X will have already heard of it or seen it so I decided to do this video a little differently :)
Sweet man, how about a deep-dive on Keith Merrow?
Hmmm could do 🤔
Paul loved the video i siggest you make seperate video and name it symphony X riff medley you will get way more views
Could do if I had the time!! Haha.

It must be sad to be so wrong :(
@@PaulOuzounov Yes unfortunately 😥😯
I became a fan with WHEN ALL HOPE IS LOST
Nice fan, can't even name the song correctly
Do Jack White
I don't know him well enough! And don't listen to him enough to do him justice, but good call, I should do a series like this haha
Constantly accelerating your playing... needs to be more laid back, more groovy.
I need to do what ever I want to do, and you need to not listen to people who tell you what you need :-)
