G'day from Australia James. Just stumbled across your videos recently. Am a huge palm enthusiast from years back. I live in Queensland so we're lucky we can grow any palm here. I actually have just sprouted 4 Bangalow seeds (Archontophoenix cunninghamiana) from a tree down my street that's dropping it's seed.
Keep your videos coming. Great to see a Canadian successfully growing palms in the back yard. Well done.

David Bee thanks brother that’s awesome I love Cunninghamiana you’ll have a lot of fun growing them. And thanks for the encouraging words. I live here but I have always been going to Florida for a year since it was a small child always loving palm trees when I go down there and one time I just decided to bring them home with me and start bringing home seeds as well developed my own system for winterizing and protecting them

Hey James. Great info., thanks. I'm growing filifera and robusta indoors in the uk. Oversized pots and plenty of water so loads of leaves each. Hoping to keep them alive inside over the winter then push outside next spring. Cheers 👍

What type fertilizer should I use when transplanting a small Fan palm? Any special soil requirement?

Hello James, just wondering if it is possible to “over water” a Washy? Have got 3 in basement under grow lights ,but getting yellowing on some fronds.I have drainage holes in pots. Thanks for any input. Joe in Windsor.

For me 2 if the fronds died from shock and the third one snapped in the wind. But more stiff fronds are coming out soon!

    Hello.
I have just got my first 2 palms here in New Jersey. A Mexican Palm 2.5ft tall and a Windmill Palm 1 ft tall. I was just debating if I should just re pot and let them grow more or plant them in the ground. always seems like your palms grow better once they're in the ground.

Loviani Adventure yes all of them seem to grow better in the ground always

Every plant grows better in the full ground.

Question: What happens if a Washingtonia Robusta is in alkaline soil?

Heinz Kirkpatrick as far as I can tell they are not too picky on the soil
