Ah yay! I'm so glad you found this helpful! 😁Both books are amazing, and have different strengths, I love the Winifred bodice block draft, but prefer Dennic's sleeve draft 🙂
This series was excellent. Understood your explanations exactly and I will forever now understand the relationship of the 3 measurements for the sleeve and how one sometimes has to make a judgment call. Many, many thanks. Felt like I was back in school!
This is such a lovely comment to read, thank you Jo! I'm so glad you found the videos helpful and that you have a better understanding of sleeves now :) Thanks for watching!
Thanks. I found this really helpful. I have the second book, but haven't picked up the first one yet. I'm working on my bodice block so the sleeve is coming up next.
I'm glad you found it helpful! It's such a great process drafting custom blocks but without a full understanding of how they work, sleeves can go easily wrong. Thanks for watching and I can't wait to see your sleeve!
Thank you so much, your tutorials have been helpful. Please,do you have any tutorial on how you drafted the bodice block using Winifred Aldrich's book?Thank you...😊
Hi Yahaya, I'm glad you found them helpful! Thanks for watching :) I don't have a UA-cam tutorial but I'm hosting a live zoom class tomorrow afternoon which teaches how to draft the bodice block. You can find the details and book on my website: www.project-patterns.co.uk/product/live-zoom-class-how-to-draft-a-bodice-block/
I love your sleeve drafting series and learned a great deal. But I still have one question: when I put the sleeve underarm seams together to check for corners/points at the base of the sleeve, I get a nice smooth curve; however, the bottom of the sleeve (at the hem) "chevrons," i.e. forms a V-shape pointing upward. It looks like a dart. Is this something that I should be concerned about? If so, how do I fix it? Thank you!
Omg this was so helpful!!! I was actually wondering version which book was better ( accurate). You explained it so well.

Thanks you :) I can't wait to see your sleeve!

Hi John, If you're seeing this happen then try putting a slight curve into your hem and underarm seam to improve the run :)
So helpful and informative. Thank you!
It's a pleasure, thanks for watching!
I wish you toiled it so we can see the fit differences
I'm working on a fitting video to add to this series so keep an eye out!
