Today's Video:
In today's video, we discuss the last two years of Windshire and what a true year of game dev looks like. We also go into what we have been cooking up in the kitchen for the last few months.
About:
Hello! I am an indie game developer working with a couple of others to bring to life my project! I am currently working on a low poly RPG game based off some games such as the souls series and breath of the wild! I have been working on this for quite some time, but I only recently started uploading my progress. The rest of the progress can be found on my discord server!

We all lose your motivation sometimes. Absolutely fine. Nice that you took a step back. I do that every now and then and it is fantastic to clear the busy brain a bit. Keep it up!
Yeah absolutely! Thank you
1:50 That makes a lot of sense. I am a video game design student and have been doing game design for about 6 months. I often find myself in this state with the different assignments we have to complete as well
Yeah it becomes really demotivating no seeing your game where you want it to be
It’s looking great, glad I have been able to experience the process since the start!
Damn man your a real one! Been there since the fat bowling ball Orc 😂
The new animation system looks soooo good! Good job!
Thank you!
Amazing video! keep it up
Thank you
Great two years! The game really looks great, how much longer are you hoping to work on it for?
As long as it needs :) Hopefully we can get this out as soon as possible
cool, looks great, keep it up
Thank you!
Keeep it up man! Never give up!
Thank you man ❤️
gahhh dayum, i wanna learn motion matiching too, but i don't know where to start ot how to implement it. any resources you can suggest ?
Absolutely! I personally used the Motion Matching for Unity asset to set mine up. I bet there are also a ton of articles out there if you want to create your own!
Anything good takes time. I realised a while back that I want to dedicate my life to building cool things in chunks of about 5 years. The first thing took 6 years when I thought it would only take 4. The next took 10 years when I thought it would take 3. I am 2 years into my 3rd thing, and I think it is ready for release but in reality it might take a few more years. I am ok with that. As long as we enjoy the journey who cares when we get to the destination.
Absolutely nothing takes as much time as you think just important to keep pushin
@@Hyve Yep! And enjoy the push because at the end, that is what 99% of the time is :D.... although realistically sometimes the push reeeeeeeeally sucks lol.
Next devlog when?
Currently working on some good stuff once that’s done it’s devlog time 😈
@@Hyve good good, hopefully it’s going good
Damn 2 years... That is 2 years
Yeahhhhhhhhhhh would be further if i wants to a perfectionist
Did you use mxm asset for motion matching?
Yes we did :)
new video soon?
We are currently working on the entire combat system and want to get a super juicy video out soon :) Just finishing up a few more things with the basic AI! Hopefully in the next 2-3 weeks at the latest!
Impressive to see motion matching in your game! It's a shame you got that great looking locomotion but all the feet are covered by tall grass.
haha true covers up the entire IK system as well
what a nice video
Thank you 🙏
Amazing
Thank you!
What do you use to capture? Unity Recorder?
I just full screen the game and use OBS :)
@@Hyve Thanks, i'll have to try it.
???????
???????
I love Windshire pls keep up! Also love your devlogs ( Guys sub to hyve!!!!!!!) And what is with Phase II? And are you using mxm?
That’s a whole story, I felt that nothing made Phase II truly good other than better art. The gameplay was a carbon copy from Phase I. Just run around with no aim and take back camps. This is the evolved version of Phase II. We have some huge stuff planned and hopefully it won’t be long to get a build out to you guys! And yes we are using MxM :)
@@Hyve Because I'm searching for a free alternativ for mxm
