      This was the most securely packed piece of merchandise I’ve ever encountered. All the parts were where they said they were, and it was all the weight I could handle. I probably won’t get near the use out of it, that it has built into it, since I’m a handicapped 73 year. It still went together very well, but not nearly as well as the Demonstrator. I even had to use long handled pliers to pick up my wrench, off of the floor. I felt like I was mugged, by the time I finished putting it together, but satisfied that I could still do it. What I should have done was hired it done, but no satisfaction in watching people struggle, while needing supervision, for insurance reasons. I’m happy 😃.

      James Edwards I’ve got enough troubles, as is, and half of my time is spent going to Dr. appointments, or taking someone else. It gets complicated once you are a Great Grandfather with 5 great Grandchildren, in diapers. It takes awhile to get used to my daughter being a Grandmother. More worried about what my grandchildren bring home from school. I’m just slugging away till, I can’t!

      It is true, and i have three sets of blades athat I change and sharpen on a rotation. One set of bldes willnlast most of a season but it depends on rather im chipping hard dry twigs or green wood. But either way the blades are easy to change.

    I may be wrong, but isn’t the diameter from the edge of the wood to the center? Which means the machine should take wood that is 6 inches in circumference.

      From edge to center is radius. Edge to edge is diameter, all the way around is circumference.

    Hey Dave. Got my EFCUT C30. Great video by the way. When I first started it up I got a terrible knocking sound. Didn't sound right so I shut it off and I'm looking at it. Did you hear anything like that when first starting it up or was it a pretty smooth startup? Sounds to me like something is defective, but just curious what your experience was on initial start up.

    • @gdraeger
      @gdraeger 4 роки тому

      Your start up in the video sounds fine....mine is not that way.

    • @MakersMovementDIY
      @MakersMovementDIY  4 роки тому

      Mine sounded fine on startup. It is a very loud machine but know knocking. Maybe check to make sure all the bases are tight and nothing is stuck in there. There is a inspection window at the bottom. Pop off the cover and turn the auger a full rotation to see if anything is hitting. Wear thick leather gloves, those blades are sharp and the auger is heavy so once it is in motion it stays in motion for a bit. Also make sure the power switch is OFF so you don't accidently start it when you turn the auger.

    • @gdraeger
      @gdraeger 4 роки тому

      @@MakersMovementDIY Thanks, Dave. So I took the cover off and we could see where the blade was hitting. So my father-in-law and myself grinded down the area (behind the screw that holds the chute). We also took the blade off that was hitting that and part of the inside of the front plate. There was some paint build up and we got rid of that and then used one of the new replacement blades as that one had some chips. Now here's the funny part. I got a delivery earlier in the day that I didn't open. When I finally did open it, it was an additional part from the company to fix this very thing. Apparently a number of machines they sent out had this issue. The part arrived a day after I got the chipper. Basically, it just pushes the front plate out ever so slightly. I'm not sure if our fix would have worked because I just added theirs. Everything works great now.. I guess that wasn't so funny. Thanks for the reply Dave and the video. Your video convinced me to buy this and it all works great now.
