Which side is your guys favorite? Fantasyland track or the Tomorrowland track?

Even though it is a very old Disney attraction, to me is still one of the best rides from Disney parks!
And, it is the ONLY Matterhorn Bobsled ride among the Disney parks!

Hack for a less painful ride: Keep a gap between your back and the seat. Hold onto the bars in front of you and pull yourself forward a little bit to get that gap and it will be 90% less rough. YW 😁👍
You shouldn't have to do that though. Disney has more than enough $$$$ to fix it. They just choose not to.

Seeing as how it’s 62 years old I think it’s held up pretty well. No denying it’s rough though, for sure.

This has been one of my favorite Disney attractions for over fifty years now, and I never found it to be particularly rough. I've experienced much rougher roller coasters at Six Flags.
The Matterhorn is beautifully themed, gorgeously constructed, and I hate riding it.

Been to Disneyland 5 times over 30 years and each time I've gone the matterhorn has been broken.. Thanks for making this video it's probably the only way I'm gonna see it.

Was just there a week ago and can confirm it is rough, my boyfriend had to take a pain pill after lmao
I don't think it's the track that needs to be updated, just the seats/cars. Someone told me that the reason why the seats are so low is because if guests were higher up they would risk hitting their hands/arms (or heads) against the sides.
But what I don't understand is why they won't add extra padding in the seats, considering that you're essentially sitting on your tailbone.
the track 100% needs fixing, arrow dynamics coasters are very rough these days
I love Matterhorn, one of my first coasters growing up, for it being an old arrow coaster it runs exceptional

When I took my boyfriend for his first time to Disneyland, this was his favorite ride! And 8 years later still is! 🥰
Does it go real fast?
The funnest experience is when the 2 cars meet side by side briefly before crossing over each other. Doesn't always happen but its fun to see everybody laughing.
I love the the fast twist and turns, dips and roaring sound affects. However, I always end up with a headache. Worth the experience. Just in case, take Alieve.
Still better than the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

To put it into perspective though, this was THE first steel coaster ever made like this. I mean Arrow was never known for smooth track profiling, but they quite literally shaped the coaster industry and made it into what it is today, and Matterhorn was their big break.
Though rough, this ride is a piece of history that will remain for years and years to come

They need to update the track. Yes it is so rough, the most rough ride of both Disneyland and Disneyworld.
What a beautifull Ride
Ride was much less brutal with the older tandem seating style, I don't know what has happened to it the last few years
I remember my first ride in1970 at age 5 with my grandmother. We rode the right side.
It was single bobsleds then, not tandem, those came in 1977. Seating was two to a sled straddling a common seat, not three separate. It was the black and red livery.

I still like to go on it every time I’m at Disneyland. I just wish it wasn’t so rough on my poor back. It’s time for Disney to make some changes on the Matterhorn.

Considering the fact that Arrow didn't have ANY computer software to calculate how forceful the turns would be or how the track were to be profiled, this ride was way ahead of its time in 1959.

Space Mountain @ Walt Disney World! It's not even close. Rode that back in April and I'm still feeling the pain.
You know ppl always complain about how rough this ride is, but I honestly never had a problem with it. Yes it jolts you around and is kinda uncomfortable but it never actually HURT for me.
What DID hurt me though, was Rip Ride Rockit at Universal Studios Orlando. A very cool ride with great music, but I wouldn’t go on it again JUST because of how painful it was. I had a giant headache for like an hour after riding it which NEVER happens to me, it’s literally the one and only time. I went on the Hulk earlier that day and had no problem at all lol
It never used to be that way but when they remodeled it it became a bruise factory. Even with customer complaints nothing has changed. Such a shame it used to be my fave.

I loved 'running the mountain' when we needed to reset the Matterhorn; it was my main attraction (cast member) the summer of 85.
The new seating they implemented around 2013/2014 makes the ride exceptionally painful to ride.
I preferred the 1980s seating with the tandem seats, it made the dimensions of the car more oval. So you felt more exposed due to the wider spaces to your sides. I remember holding on to those side metal handles with the death grip. I haven’t ridden with these three-seater models. Unfortunately, Disney pricing of recent decade or so has turned me away from the parks. Too bad.
The ride itself is not really scary but what worried me the most is there might be stalagmites in the way and can potentially hit my head.

Went there in July and sat in the front and felt like I just did a 5 hour intense workout session. My whole body hurt from the whiplash lol.

I love this ride. Not too scary. And classic Disney. It doesn't really get much better. I'm almost thinking of moving closer to Anaheim just to be closer to Disneyland. I love it that much.

The Matterhorn is the most scariest ride at Disneyland.
Don't care that it's rough. This is my favorite coaster ever. Want to see better restraints on it though. Lap belts are almost worthless.

It was fine until they got rid of the bench seats and went with individual seats. Now there's less room to move around, and the effect of the bumps are magnified on the body.

I’ve been on the Matterhorn three times, and each time I’ve felt extremely uncomfortable in the seat, and violently jerked around to the point that I thought I was going to be flung off the ride. I go to Disneyland once a year but I always avoid the Matterhorn. Just tear it down already.

Sucks that the only way to really fix the rough track would be to gut the mountain and start over; these older rides weren’t built with easy fixes like some other ones. Same as the yeti coaster in animal kingdom

*1. Why are there 2 tracks of the ride? What is the difference?*
*2. Why is there water at the end of the ride even though it's rollercoaster?*
Two tracks means twice as many cars that can go through the ride meaning greater guest capacity for the park and there is a slight difference with one side being a little bit more thrilling than the other side if I remember right the tomorrowland side is the more thrilling side than the fantasyland side. The water is at the end of the ride because it acts as a break when you’re going into the station so it slows the cars down before actually getting into the station so the brakes at the station don’t work as hard and get worn out as fast.
You can remove the question mark from the end of your title.

I first rode the Matterhorn IN UTERO! Famous family story.
My mum was 6 months pregnant with me, Christmas, 1959. They weren't going to let her on, she caused a scene and they relented and let her on! True story!

Not as boucny as when that castmember gives piggy back rides in Epcot's Morocco pavilion. I do like the authentic Moroccan experience, though.

It won't be as painful and rough if you don't lean your back against the seat. Sit up straight and leave some space between your back and the seat.
That Ride needs help, it's way too rough.

Disney got very lucky because a little kid slipped out of the meager lap belt and slammed his head into the side of the car. Huge black eyes about the only issue...and the parents did not pursue anything.

@@phoebelajoie5466 it closed down in 2006. Just read the Wikipedia page and it was ranked 176 out of 177 wooden coasters or something and it got so bad that most people stopped riding it. However they had to have all seats full to start the ride because they needed the weight for momentum which caused the ride to sit for extended periods until enough people came.
