They key thing for anyone duoing - drop the meteors like shown in the video. Both on the "small crescent." Since there are only two of you, one gets a double meteor, so two explode no matter what. But, by putting both on the small side, one is guaranteed to stay and be the "proper color" to advance through the phase. When I was researching how to duo this, I found a lot of information claiming it couldn't be done. Good job to the duo that posted this video on figuring it out back at level 80.
