Fantastic! Jack Bruce was a giant and an artist who always followed his heart. He made the world a better place! Hail Peter, Ringo, and the rest of the band.
The best singer /bass player EVER. His voice exemplifies the power rock of the era and will never be matched and an impeccable bassist. This song changed history as far as rock goes. There’s no better example of heavy rock from the best time in rock music history from mid 60s to the 1980s. I prefer the 65-72 best before it became so commercialized.
@Axeman428 Jack Bruce 🙏 RIP, was also an underrated harmonica and keyboardist! What really makes this rendition great is being played on a fking Les Paul! Something Eric refused to do
In all the years of Ringo's All Star's, to me, this was the best line-up. Once I heard Jack was in the line-up, I bought tickets. Saw them at Jones beach outdoor stadium that summer. Great line up. Frampton, Jack, Simon Kirke (Bad Company), Gary Wright (Procol Harem), and Ringo obviously. The funny thing was, since it was an older crowd, people really didn't stand up much. But I noticed everyone stood when Jack played his Cream songs! lol
Bruce was just a great musician in many contexts. The song "As You Said" on "Wheels of Fire" was mostly Jack playing cello and singing -- a great song that was atypical of the rest of what Cream was doing. A couple of years later Jack was in the Tony Williams Lifetime, one of the early jazz fusion bands. Just a great musician.
Peter is my personal guitar legend. Seen him more than 25 times. These All Star performances are some of the best playing he’s done. Inspiring. And not in the HOF eh? Rrrrrright.
You know what they say, a great song is timeless and no amount of time can change how great it is and this certainly falls in that category. It is an awesome song still.
Well, those days with the Herd and Humble Pie really paid off! Good lord! I wasn't sure if it was Gary Moore but then I saw it was with Ringo and thought- damn thats Peter Frampton. Wow! Blazing. He always said he was a guitarist first and sang and wrote out of necessity. Jack Bruce and Peter Frampton, what a gift, never imagined I'd see this! (At Yoshi's I saw Jack with Vernon Reid and then Carlos Santana came out! Another stunner.)
1992. I was front row. On guitar it was 1.Dave Edmunds 2.Nils Lofgren 3. Joe Walsh 4. Todd Rundgren. Bass- Timothy B. Schmitt. Keyboards- Burton Cummings. Drums Ringo Starr & Zak Starkey. Jun 15,1992 Pine Knob Music Theater in Clarkston, Michigan. One of the greatest shows ever!!
@@jamesbowen8960 It's personal tastes, but I'm really glad I got to see this line-up. I think Dave Edmunds would've been the only one I'd like to have seen.
@@jamesbowen8960 Late 90s in Milwaukee-- Randy Bachman, John Entwhistle, Mark Farner, Billy Preston, Felix Pappalardi, Ringo + Zak!!!!!!! A truly great All Starr band!!!!!!!! Did I leave anybody out???
@@jamesbowen8960 As a big Who fan, Guess Who, etc--- When Ringo announced Entwhistle, I yelled out "BORIS"--- and Entwhistle played a 1 minute long intro literally sounding like a spider spinning a web on his bass!!! Bachman with No Time--- and Farner with Closer to Home etc!!!!!!!!
This is a great Ringo lineup. I saw Ringo with his band including, Mark Farner, Billy Preston, Randy Bachman, John Entwistle, Felix Cavaliere, Zak Starkey.
Jack Bruce began playing jazz bass in his teens and won a scholarship to study cello and musical composition at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama .
Paul Mitchell OBSCURE ?! WTF are you talking about ? Bruce, Brooke, Frampton, Simon Kirk ?! These guys are legends, from some of the biggest bands in the classic rock 60s /70s era !
And that bastard, talented as he was, surely deserved it too! Though, I doubt that very talented wrech made it unto glory! He is probably in the pit getting burned and flogged by his master!
So much better than the limp Clapton versions. Nice job by Peter. Drummers remind me of the Melvins on this. Jack stalking the stage and looking happier than I’ve seen him...great post!
Love when Frampton does covers, especially While my Guitar Gently Weeps. If he would’ve tuned down half step or so on this, it would’ve been epic. Still great
Bruce wa composer, lyricst, singer and terrific bass player here.. Frampton was just as good a guitarist as Clapton, just didn;t need the 3000 pound Armani suit....
I was wondering who was that incredible guitarist, and then in the comments heard Frampton and it was like - Of course!!!! Folks definitely got there moneys worth that evening!
Jack Bruce's voice is so melodic here. I love his voice always.
Frampton playing as if the song was made for him. Amazing performance!
Props to frampton who absolutely nailed this
Now that Eric's been cancelled, let's just drop Peter into every situation where Clapton would normally have played.
Without question!!!
Simon Kirk never gets the attention he deserves as one awesome drummer.
From you? From the Fans of Free, Bad Co. or Frankie Miller?
Fantastic! Jack Bruce was a giant and an artist who always followed his heart. He made the world a better place! Hail Peter, Ringo, and the rest of the band.
Jack Bruce was ALWAYS my favorite in Cream. The guy is an amazing bass player, songwriter, & great vocalist.
Eric Clapton and Ginger Baker were just playing in his band (!)
Why in Cream?
That was Jack's worst band ... 😡
@@thomasr.5784 You're crazy. lol
From humble beginnings Jack became one of the great musicians of the 20th century. Frampton is just fantastic here.
Oh, so that's who that guitar player is , looks so different now

One of the greatest rock compositions of all time. Never gets stale. Great performance.
Kudos to Jack’s singing and fretless bass playing. That guitar tone, though! Wow.
Jack Bruce was no slouch... dude still had it!!
The best lineup of any of Ringo's All Star bands.
Great singer, Jack Bruce. His voice held up through the years as well
One of the best renderings of this song I've encountered.

I was at Jones Beach also for the show, was in tears when Jack performed.
Peter Frampton covered the Clapton guitar solo exquisitely.
He certainly did!

Jack Bruce is a frickin' genius.
Exactly.
Jack was my neighbor back in his younger days, a truly great musician.
Frampton stamped all over it. Kirk chopped up the sticks. And a weapons grade line up. RingO n' of coarse Jack. One of the top White Rooms!
To have Jack Bruce tour and sing with ALL stars band is a honor for ringgo. A genius

Jack Bruce and Peter Frampton at the top of their game, Fabulous !
Ringo always puts together a good band, nothing but the best from a Beatle they all sound incredible 💫 💯 Rock on AT ☆♡☆
