The face the ref made and the way he ducked the slap at 8:00 lmao. He's going to be a hard guy to replace whenever he retires. He's an iconic part of the presentation

All that damn flinching by slugger. They call every other foul but rarely call flinching. Mufasa on the other hand is a perfect example of how to NOT flinch and literally take it on the chin. They need to blindfold the person getting slapped and quit with the countdown. Give the slapper 10 second time limit to get the slap off. That would eliminate all the flinching bc they wouldn’t know when the slap is coming.
They’ve been suggested this since the beginning but im **pretty** sure, that they cant do that because its not safe. If you’re not expecting the blow, then your body wont prepare for it, which can make your brain slam up against your skull which isn’t exactly healthy. The body knows what its doing, we flinch for a reason.
yall need to get slugger a step ladder LMAO i can imagine the height difference makes it harder when their big bellies are constantly smushing the barrel. Mufasa def took this one home and Slugger was flinching a lot. He has potential... Hardcore Hillbilly match up soon?
Mufasa was forced to withdraw from the tournament due to a shattered molar. In hindsight, he probably wishes he would’ve been a little more flexible with the Slaps.
@@slapfightchampionship I knew Mufasa broke something, you could see him hiding the pain. He probably thought if he drew attention to it, you would force him to withdraw and toughed out the match to win. True competitor right there. These super heavyweights are out here absolutely breaking each other LOL
Slugger chewed that first slap like gum, what a champ. Mufasa on the other hands, that's like a few kilos of steak hitting ya. If only we got the lifeline bar at the top.
Fantastic match up again. Such great competitors. I love all these. JT, did you see those knock off guys doing the slapfighting championship stuff? It was a train wreck. I been wanting to ask you about that, are you suing them? Their video with the crazy hawaiin had 3.5 million views. Such a disservice to the sport. Your organization has professionals, good sportsmanship, and entertainment value. I hope you stick it to those guys.
I'm surprised so many people are still using stiff-armed slaps instead of turning the elbow and getting the whip effect like White Simba and a few others do.
The arm is supposed to be straight at the moment of the slap landing. Some of these guys choose to keep it straight throughout the swing, others don’t. Fascinating to watch the techniques evolve.
I think it works for Simba because that dude’s hands are just soo freaking big and lanky. Also hes tall so his weight is plenty but hes not a necessarily hefty guy so putting his weight behind the slap like sone guys do probably wouldnt be nearly as efficient for him specifically.
We do use a top cam. It’s featured anytime there are stepping penalties, but in this matchup, there were no stepping penalties. Definitely check out some other videos because that’s one of the best camera angles.

I agree with the decision from the judges. It was close but Mufasa really ate those slaps better than 502 Slugger did. Not by much but enough to win. I love watching slap fights that go all the way to the end.
Mufasa can take a slap obviously but due to the obvious we haven't fully seen what a full contact with 405lbs of man meat kinda slap really looks like. Can't wait...
That has to be difficult. Reflexes tell you to prepare for the incoming shot, preferably avoid or defend it & you just have to stand there & take a whopping slap. Different from the MMA world I come from but cool.
Some (mostly the earlier fighters) of these guys come from MMA backgrounds and you can see im plenty of their first fights and rounds, the pivoting and stepping and clubbing because of proper fist fighting technique. but i believe SlapFight owners also has some MMA events and other branches of things like that.
@@MoNehNeh17 yup. Muscle memory. They end up having to retrain themselves for a different technique & specialty. Kinda like MMA fighters having to not grab fence when being taken down. Reflexes programmed to try to break or prevent fall. Having to ignore that instinct is hard .
