@@Josh-xe3rv I mean I agree but I promise you the hype was different for saliba. I tuned into most Marseille highlights and even saint ettiene in his first season back. Our fanbase was constantly slagging off Arteta for keeping him on loan. (Even though I think Arteta made the right decision)
@@mitchgraham3882 Day 1 means from before his loan and before people watched his YT clips. The majority of Arsenal fans had never heard of him before he joined so we can't say that they rated him. Just like most rated Pepe from YT clips and now Mudryk if he signs. It's only genuine if you rate a player before any transfer links are made, and that's the minority of the time for most fans

He made Ligue 1 team of the season at age 20 last season and arguably the best performing CB in the league.
He was the leader in the defense for Marseille who finished 2nd.
At age 21 he's been the best CB in the PL. He's the leader in defense for Arsenal who are top of the PL.
Arsenal have conceded the least (11), kept the most cleansheet(7) and he's the best defense on the team who are top.
He hates Marseille, big rivals with PSG.
Him saying he's being objective is a lie, you can tell straight away.

I'm a PSG fans from Paris and I can tell you that we wish to have W. Saliba right now. Even more when his coach for long time was K.Mbappé's Dad as they are coming from the same neighbourhood.
Too much hype is a dumb statement Saliba rightfully deserves this much hype around himself. Top of league, top of Europa, I've watch almost every game this season; MINIMAL mistakes, and we've conceded the least amount of goals. How can we not praise this young king.

Some people are just special, the prem is the most demanding league you don’t throw a young kid in at a struggling team so he can lose all his confidence. You give him time to develop at a less demanding league then he comes back the player he is which currently is a top 10 if not top 5 cb in the world

Well it's clear his knowledge is limited regarding Arsenal and Saliba. Arsenal fans called him the mbappe of CB the first day he was signed and have been wanting him to play since. He was one of the reasons Saint Etienne got to that final in 2020. He's also got young player of the year and was in team of the season in France.
He deserves all the hype he's getting. Amazing defender. You my guy need to do better.
Saliba is massively overrated. Makes a lot of mistakes that go unpunished. He’s got an own goal in him too. Laughable how much praise he gets when he hasn’t achieved anything.

Saliba has had a good season so far but he has had some shaky games/halves of football (Wolves game, Leeds second half, Southampton second half for example) however, he is still very young and this is his first PL season - and he has also been MOTM in several games this season already - overall he has done well this season for Arsenal and hopefully he can continue that
Funny how he was shaky in those games yet conceded only 1 goal. It is almost like he did do mistakes in those games but was able to acclimate after.... funny that
@@TheKh65 yeah in the Leeds and Wolves games, Gabriel helped him out which is why we kept clean sheets in those games. This is good tbh when it comes to a CB partnership - helping each other out if one of them has a bit of an off day

You have to understand that Arsenal play the highest line in the league, so there is always going to be shaky moments because of the degree of difficulty.
I think he is a touch overhyped, very good player but funny how his mistakes are ignored for the most part

It was really weird. He completely disregarded Saliba season last year, downplayed how good it was and saying Arsenal welcomed him like he was a great defender and that he didn't play like he is now for years.
Years implies he's some experience player or in his mid 20's.

He also barely played during 2/3 years on loan while at Arsenal, first year was a loan back to Saint Etienne, he barely played due to multiple muscle injuries, even then that season he still was the MOTM in the French cup semi final & it was his ball that led to 92 min winner to send a big club Saint Etienne to the final, the clubs first in 30+ years.
Arsenal due to money & Covid extended loan situation didn't allow Saliba to play the final v PSG, which would have cost Arsenal 2 million, due to clause.
PSG ended up winning 1-0 and Saliba replacement in the final club captain & legend Perrin played the final, injured Mbappe & got red card early.
Saliba his 2nd year, first half was wasted after not being registered along with Sokratis & others due to the limit & club wanted him to go on loan, he was at the club but couldn't play first team till January.
Then in January he had a good loan at Nice for 6 months.
His 3rd season was Marseille, he made sure this time his situation sorted early.
It was his first full season and first uninterrupted season during his 3 years signed but not playing for Arsenal.
Saliba last season was arguably the best CB in Ligue 1 last season at age 20, he was the leader in defense for Marseille who finished 2nd in Ligue 1, he played in a possesion based side at a big french club, playing with a high line.
