Note that the memories even explained the bandage on McGucket's beard: He got a bandage on his face and the cast on his arm, when he had an accident in town - but then he forgot all about it, never had the cast taken off in 30 years, and his beard grew out from underneath the bandage, carrying it along. That's some _strong_ adhesive on the bandage, though, to still stick like that after 30 years. No wonder it always feels like you're ripping the flesh off your bones, when you pull one off. YROO XRKSVI! GIRZMTOV!
Blanching is a cooking technique that involves briefly scalding a food in boiling water or steam and then immediately plunging it into ice water or cold running water to stop the cooking process.
Grunkle Stan is in his late 60s, as is McGucket. This was the episode that truly convinced me, that GF would actually wrap (almost) everything up in a neat little bow by the end and that it was gonna be awesome.
In The Book of Bill which had just recently came out, we get an information that explains why the twins are acting the way that they are. If you don't want to find out just yet its find but do come baack after you finish the series cause it explains a lot about the characters So apparently Dipper and Mabel's parents are going through a divorce which is why they send the kids away for the summer. Dipper is trying to make himself busy with a mystery he can solve instead of thinking about how to get their parents back together. Mabel is trying to find connection in other people cause she is feeling left alone and everyone is gonna disappear out of her life. Also, bonus fact: Wendy's mom died when she was young and it still haunts her everytime she sleeps but she is just trying to not show it which was alluded to in this episode
Oh wow. (Also in American "eat your own pants" just means like your jeans. The reactors seemed so horrified I wonder if they were thinking of British tendency to call underwear pants so were worried Soos was like dropping those.)
Stan describes himself in a later episode (not a spoiler) as "pushing 70" but he's probably doing what he does best and exaggerating. The timeline is not entirely clear and for spoiler reasons I'm obviously not gonna explain everything here, but the age situation works out like this: basically Stan can't possibly be younger than 57 and I'd say there's likely a soft upper limit at 62, but 66 is technically possible. McGucket is probably right around the same age, maybe younger, so thirty years ago he would've been in his late 20s/early 30s.
What happened to McGucket seemed so tragic to me as I was not familiar with another show I heard did similar. In the first season though they indicated he had a son, but I don't think they ever dealt with how he dealt with his father's decline. (Although maybe that's why he was cold to him in the fish monster ep. It just seemed like he was a bad son, but maybe he was just like "this is too painful, I can't deal with this any more.")
Well I'm 47, but my oldest great-nephew recently graduated from high school. I'm not sure if one of them has a great-uncle just thirty years older than them though.
FUN FACT about this episode! At the end credits when a mug of coffee and a book (cant remember) were sucked into the portal machine, the same stuff came out in a portal in one of Rick and Morty episodes. Not sure if it means they are connected, or it's probably just an easter egg and nothing more.
"Wow, this episode had me hooked from start to finish! The Society of the Blind Eye adds such a mysterious layer to the story. I love how the show continues to surprise us with its twists and connections to the overarching plot. Your reactions are always so entertaining! Can't wait to see what's next! #GravityFallsCult"
2:18: Remember when Bill said he'd give Dipper a hint and then he smashed the laptop?

This episode did wonders for the perception of McGucket
Total Ice King up in here

Those gnomes are literally the most useless species to ever exist bro. I love them.
I feel bad for McGucket. He lost his memories for 30 years. The Blanchin song was freaking hilarious

Why do they think Grunkle is so young? Thought this in an earlier ep aswell. It’s great uncle, not uncle. He ain’t around 50.
in 2012 hes like 52 minimum, 62 maximum.

Stan is 72, confirmed in S2e17.
@@ShadowHazy that was just a guess tho
Ah, yes. Phil Cyber.

Those things that flew into the machine in the end credits actually end up in an episode of Rick and Morty.
If y'all have watched Rick and morty closely, then you'll know where that mug and book that grunkle lost went😂
