  • Norwegian LOVE to talk about the weather. Now you can too. Learn these simple sentences and words about the fall weather, and be a part of the culture that talks about the weather!
    Hey all Norwegian learners!
    The language I'm teaching is not Bokmål nor Nynorsk. It's an east dialect and I don't think you will have much problem with bokmål after this. :) And everyone will understand this.
    I am Norwegian, from Norway. Born and raised. I live in Oslo, with my husband and son.
    ---------------------------------------
    I started filming with my webcam. Then i moved on to a Flip, then a Flip Mino HD. Then followed my iPhone, and Now I have a Panasonic HC-V210 :)

    I'd love to visit Norway some day, and if that ever becomes a real possibility, I will spend much time with your videos before I leave. Thanks for taking the time to teach us.
    The thing I appreciate most is the way you often pronounce each word in an un-naturally slow, clear way first, then repeat the sentence the way it would normally sound. The combination of BOTH of those approaches is incredibly useful, thank you for having the wisdom to understand that.

    "drittvær" is very informal, don't use it unless you're talking to your friends xD
    it's directly translated "shitty weather" or "shit weather"

    Mange takk Karin! Your lessons are so good. I have been learning Norwegian for 8 years and am okay at written Norwegian but went to Oslo last week to practice spoken Norwegian & found it very difficult to pronounce it properly. I want to study in Oslo University and I need to be proficient in written and spoken to do the Bergen test - your lessons have taught me how to speak good Norwegian - I cannot thank you enough as no Norwegians live here and no classes - hilsen fra Emma x

    There is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing.
    I wrote that before the end of the video.
    Halloo - It means "be prepared". It's a part of "being Norwegian" and being at one with the nature. It's connected to the Håvamål and to the Janteloven.
    But hey, I'm not doing my Phd on your channel :-)

      ***** In Norway rain is your friend - It makes the potatos grow.
      Rain is like warm snow.
      Rain means it's not really cold.
      Rain is mother natures way of telling you to be prepared.
      Enjoy your trip to the Kingdom of Norway.
      Once you've seen the touristy things in Christiania move north really fast and experience real Norway and real Norwegians.
      And remember to buy local farm produce.
      Support a farmer. Hug a farmer.
      Every family needs a farmer.

    @Senoraem 9 років тому

    Hei Karin - Beklager mens jeg har sporsmal om "G" pa norsk - the word "Norge" is it pronounced as "norye" and also what is pasttense of " a gi" - to give som "Igae" pa engelsk - sorry but my keyboard does not have extra Norwegian letters. Do you live in Oslo - maybe meet up for coffee next time I am there (September (jeg haper det) - my name is Emma Magee if you want to find me on Facebook - I could do with some Norwegian conversation class - du er utrolige Jeg gleder meg til a reise til Norge igjen x

    • @NorwegianTeacher
      @NorwegianTeacher  9 років тому

      Senoraem Hei Emma :) Norge is pronounced with the Hard G, not norye (that is how the sweeds say it!).
      "Å gi" is "jeg ga" in past tense. (with HARD G in this one!). Hope it helps :D

      Ingo Petzold Så flink :D Jeg korrigerer gjerne, hvis du vil lære! :) "vær" ikke "vært" (vært means "have been"). Også bruker du "regna" i past tence, men "Blåser" i present tense :) Så helst: "det er overskyet og regner og blåser veldig mye" :) Siden du skriver "er" ikke "var", da er det present tense! :) Veldig flink og absolutt til å forså :D
