    I have been using the dermawant for 10 years. If you keep at it everyday and are constant with it you will see results. I am 64 and people card me sometimes at the store when I say I am a senior for my discount of over 55 ....I have been told I look about 45...so with that said I will continue to use my dermawand. Nothing is instant so remember that. I started when I was much younger but keep at it...don't get discouraged it will work in time...

    Dermawand recommends using a moisture of hydra prep ON THE SKIN PRIOR and DURING use to STOP that SHOCKING You can refresh or rewet it during treatment if wand starts to NOT GLIDE over skin or it starts to get "zappy".. Using the gel is better for the skin and allows the current to go below to the muscles and nerves and gives a better result that lasts a little longer. I use it with a gel , like aloe gel, and it REALLY helps to make it comfortable while you get the results you need, especially around the lips and the eyes. Also what is in the booklet included is if you use it with the prep gel or moisture, the current conductivity is better and by using it twice a day for 3-5 minutes for the first few weeks it will make a longer lasting result and more of a difference in deep lines and wrinkles that will last a little longer so you can use it less eventually. It can also be used on the back of thighs to help smooth the appearance and on the tops of the knees where you can get that wrinkly look.

    Thank you for describing this tool as High Frequency, which is what I thought it was based on the appearance and sound it makes. There is a big difference between high frequency and radio frequency. The Dermawand website offers no technical specs on their website or when I called them to confirm their claims that this tool is both Microcurrent and Radio Frequency. Their website briefly mentions that it is high frequency. They give no information about the Microcurrent as far as how many micro amps it offers and there is absolutely no technical information on their claims of Radio Frequency. So, my conclusion as a licensed esthetician and based on the appearance is that this product only offers High Frequency. High Frequency Tool makes that sound and uses either a plastic or glass tip; also, High Frequency will have either a reddish light or violet light color that you can easily see through the glass. High Frequency is a great tool, especially for getting rid of acne and stimulating the skin, but it doesn’t really lift the skin or work the same way as Microcurrent or Radio Frequency. Both Microcurrent and Radio Frequency have a metal tip probe, not a glass or plastic tip.

    Going out on a whim here to get a reply, since this video is a few years old!
    But I’ve had my derma wand for over ten years. Haven’t used it much (almost not at all lol) and recently found it. Gave it a little test and all seems to be working just fine but my question is whether it’s normal for the device to give off a “smell”?
    I’m not sure how to describe the smell? Maybe almost like....burning skin? Or a type of metal smell? And it lingers on the skin and on the device (even if cleaned)
    I have since stopped using it because of this as I was worried maybe I’m doing more damage than anything by potentially using a defective device!
    Any thoughts or information would be much appreciated!

    • @thehonestchannel
      @thehonestchannel  3 роки тому +3

      Hi Jen. I remember that smell well and it is acknowledged by the manufacturer as normal - I think it’s the static that creates a kind of metallic smell against the skin but it’s not burning. I used the Dermawand for months without problems.

      Dermawand is a High Frequency Tool and not Radio Frequency or Microcurrent as Dermawand claims on its website. That odor is normal for a High Frequency Tool and it is from the Argon Gas Electrodes that produce either a reddish-orange color or Blue Violet Color. Dermawand only offers the Rediah-Orange Argon Electode; the professional version also allows you to use the Blue Violet Argon electrode, which is better to kill the acne bacteria of pustules. The professional version can be purchased under $28 U.S. dollars from eBay Sellers located in China. I’m a licensed esthetician and have tried the high frequency tool from China and it is the same product as the Professional version I bought in the U.S. for professional estheticians at $100.

      The Dermawand is a High Frequency Tool and it is not designed to use it on your closed upper eyelids directly over your eyes. You may use it on a light setting above your eyes and closer to your eyebrows. High Frequency (Red-Orange Argon electrode such as Dermawand version is supposed to stimulate hair growth so it can be used over your eyebrows. If you buy the professional version of High Frequency, it will have a glass electrode comb attachment that can be used on the scalp to stimulate hair growth. It will also help reduce or get rid of headaches when used on the scalp or temples of the face. I’m an esthetician and I’ve bought the professional version of High Frequency on eBay from sellers located in China for $28 and it looks and works exactly the same as the professional version I bought in the U.S. for $100. It's unlikely the original device featured here (this video is 5 years old now) would cause facial fat loss as it was working quite superficially within the skin. There is very little research around home-device-linked facial fat loss so I'm afraid it's really difficult to draw any concrete conclusions.

      Dr. Pen is MicroNeedling that is used by doctors and licensed estheticians. I’m a licensed esthetician and know how to use Dr. Pen. Typically, a numbing cream is used on the face then removed before using the electric Dr. Pen Microneedling. There are lots of videos by Estheticians on how to use it but I don’t blame you for being scared to use it. You can find a skin salon or dermatologist who offers it and that way you can have the treatment demonstrated on your skin before you attempt to do it yourself at home. Then, if you decide to buy it and give yourself the treatments, you can buy it in expensively on EBay from sellers who live in China. The professional version looks exactly like the Dr. Pen, also one brand that is called MicroPen, but costs $4,000 U.S. dollars. I was amazed that I could buy the same product for under $100 from eBay sellers located in China. I’ve bought the ones from China for under a $100 and it is the same as the $4,000 version.
      You will see results with the Dr. Pen if you use it at least once or twice a month. You may use it every two weeks if you apply Hylaronic Acid on your face before using it. You cannot use microneedling on dry skin without any product. If you use a light chemical peel with Dr. Pen, then you need to wait at least 3 weeks for the skin to peel and heal before reusing. In akin care, doing laser, chemical peel or MicroNeedling, you are actually doing a little injury so that the skin heals itself. In the process of healing, the skin will stimulate the production and elastin, which will help you look younger. Under age 25, your akin is youthful and naturally produces more collagen and elastin so that is why these skin treatments are essential as we age.

      Botox is currently the most effective way to smooth out and prevent wrinkles - but you could put that off a good few years. Maybe an alternative will come along. I would also recommend using retinol along with spf 50. Over time a stronger retinoid can make a big difference to skin texture and lines. The Dermawand is more for temporarily lifting the skin.
