Triple H is better than the rock as a wrestler though. That’s not even a question
We all knew the Kliq was very jealous of the Rock. The Rock had everything going for him back then and he was the younger than all of them. Everyone wanted to be the biggest star on WWF, but there can only be one. The top 2 stars during that era was The Rock and Stone Cold. Everyone one else was a notch below them.
Right. Both Austin and rock deserved it too. Nobody never said anything bad about them. And people tried to bury them both when they were upcoming
Triple H Was Most Likely Hella Jealous, Especially Since The Rock Won His 1st WWF World Title, While Only Being Very Young, Only With the Company 4 2 Years & Not Much Experience, Compared 2 Triple H.

@@DXVI9 Makes sense after hearing the 10,000 other wrestlers who said he was a real snake in the grass (which may or may not be over-emphasized since HHH got the last & loudest laugh.). Be weary of the stone sober guy hanging out at the party every other night - & that was him.
I always considered HHH the best pound-for-pound guy in the WWF from 97 to around when it didn't matter anymore (02/03/WWE).
I respect Road Dogg for owning up to his mistakes and wanting to make peace with people he had things against back then. That takes a real mature adult to do that. I'm happy that he's in a good mindset and I wish him all the best. God bless him
At least Road Dogg opened up about it. HHH was also salty over the rock. The bullying of the rock started with HBK when Rock first signed on, they saw him as a threat because of his lineage( Moms side) , this is probably why HHH got into it with Stephanie because at that time he was with Chyna, HHH needed that lineage security.
They also bullied Chris Jericho too, but it was Stephanie who protected him.
Of course now the two are friends or at peace, so there must have been 'i'm sorry' talk with HHH & Rock at some point in the 2010s.
Road Dogg was always good on the mic, he could work a crowd great . Honestly he had John Cena like Charisma, mic skills but he didn't have the 'look' the it factor.
It is what it is.

People in wrestling media make stuff up, they watch tv and they say "I bet they actually dislike each other in real life", and they just decide to fantasise about this stuff, and if they find out that there has been any kind of grumbling between them at all they'll make it into a huge thing and portray it as "fact" of this stuff. Rock and HHH were two VERY PROFESSIONAL dudes. They worked VERY WELL TOGETHER in ring, they competed with each other both in character and as themselves but they were very good for each other, there was no animosity big enough that would actually spill over. They have alot of respect for each other, whatever "incidents" they've had, you make it sound like it's a cloud that defines their relationship that hangs over them at every period. They are way way way past that.
Triple H is a good dude who married a woman he fell in love with who was really "the perfect woman" on top of all the qualities he liked about her because she had an in. You make out like he married her for the money. Triple H didn't live a lifestyle (he's always been teetotal) that would see him resort to such slimy quick tactics. He got injuries and worked on them right away and didn't take any shortcuts.
The narrative you speak is very dangerous to all that like it and agree with you. The wrestling business asks you to suspend your disbelief... Wrestling media asks you to suspend your disbelief x a million.
Road Dogg wasn't a great worker by the way in terms of athleticism, he gassed alot, that's what held him back, not a bunch of "tragic circumstances derived from favouritism". He'd be the first to tell you that.
You're saying how great it is seeing Doggy own up about stuff but immediately you absorb yourself in the type of crap that he was involved in and you're congratulating him for getting out of.
@@thebigbop5866 You know my brother met HHH back in 98-99. He didn't watch wrestling at that time but knew that hhh was an entertainer of some sort. My brother spoke really well of hhh. Quiet to himself guy, good listener, humble , very funny and cool guy that was easy to get along.
I guess he meant well. I remember Cody saying that he was pi55ed w/ HHH for the Stardust gimmick, he wanted out of it and all HHH had to say was 'you take what you are given. (*I think Road Dogg said something like that to Brodus Clay.)
And it rubbed Cody the wrong way, but that just made him go in 'prove him wrong mode' .. and the result..
Broke every ROH ppv and attendance record and was the trigger that would form aew before khan stepped into the scene.
But now the story is retold, HHH tried to help him but his answer inspired Cody to leave his comfort level.

Respect to this guy, I was watching him and billy gunn getting interviewed in the middle of the ring and, the interviewer asked what they missed most about the attitude era or something like that and without hesitation, Dogg said “I miss Chyna” ❤️❤️❤️
Rocky was the total package . Charisma , good looking , great on the mic , great physique & height, great in ring performer , great dresser , and had a lineage in the wrestling business from both sides of the family . He just oozed coolness. The entire kliq was jealous except Hall & Nash who were at WCW. Add in NAO too.

Just imagine how further talent can go when you don't have people purposefully being roadblocks. They're all in the business to uplift each other.
Thankfully Road Dogg is able to see his foolishness and hindsight and try to set things right by making amends. This should serve as an example to the current and future generations.
Road Dogg is a legend and although he was never The Rock, Rock wouldn't have become the legend he is today without the work and charisma of the other talent in the company.
I simply see this as getting older into the 40s and up is when some people unfortunately finally start realizing reality.
Sometimes it's nothing, but words and the only person it helps is the person like Road-Dogg here, just so he can sleep at night. Gettting older affects people lol
Billy Gunn looks like $1,000,000 these days. Road Dogg, not so much. Looks like he’s in a good headspace though. That’s priceless.

Some of these dudes make major changes in their later life and make amends. Most likely one of the reasons is because they realise how good they had it and are just grateful for what opportunities they had.

Road Dogg's shoot interview from years ago where he buried him and put over HHH makes more sense. I'm glad he's in a better place now.

I watched the attitude era back again during Lockdown and I realise now at an older age how on the mic, no-one was close to the Rock in terms of new material. Even Austin was a bit repetitive and I can see why he wanted to change his character and turn heel. The Rock evolved so much and he stayed the same. Road Dogg falls into that caterogy, he just repeated something that worked and it didn't really change. Fair play to him for being honest now, I've always wished he had more of a push
I appreciate Road Dogg's honesty and humility here but mannn....I can't help but shake my head like the level of pettiness and jealousy from a grown man to another grown man is pretty pathetic. Because of their own insecurities, they tried to hold down The Rock. Crazy

The thing with Wrestling today, you could put Bryan Danielson in the ring with someone as popular as the rock back in the day and the rock is guaranteed to get booed because hardcore fans today appreciate a work horse even if they are a hated heel, even Roman would be cheered facing “Dwayne”.
I was an extra on the set of a small-time movie, where a PA was that had previously worked on the set of the Rocks movie "Tooth Fairy." He said that the Rock flew from L.A. to wherever they were filming to do a scene where he had to fly through the air when he was on the ice. Rock saw that they only had one big mat, said no, then retreated to his trailer. They added another jumbo mat, and same result. Eventually they added 4 enormous thick mats for the Rock to land on- he declined to do the scene, and hopped back on his plane.
I get why he would decline. It makes perfect sense actually.

It’s sad how jealous The Kliq was of the rock. Even though almost all of them are actually better in ring performers, the rock was still a great in ring performer and had much more charisma than all of them so that’s why he overshadowed them.
I met billy gunn back in 2000 at my junior magic game because his son played also and as was signing my shirt and being that the rock is my fav wrestler I asked him about him and he said he hated him, I just laughed at that big bohemeth of a man signing my shirt as a 11 yr old.

The business died when the rock left to film the scorpion King not when that played out stone cold went heel. Austin was good but at the end of the day he was a gimmick character

Rock changing his character while recovering and thinking what was going wrong in his career when the fans started hating him made the perfect character to rival Austin if rock never changed his character when he did there's no one that could keep up with Austin in the ring and on the mic. HHH wasn't quite there yet, kurt angle was just coming in, no chris jericho yet, the rest of the corporate just didn't have the it factor to single handedly rival Austin.
