If you really wasn't convinced before, Sunmi is not just an idol, but an artist with idea to convey and things she wants to fight for, and i feel so proud for some kpop artists opening korea to critcisim and realisation... Agreed totally agreed with you, if there is someone who could do it in this classy manner, it's her !
I am so thankful that you reacted and most importantly understood&explained the true meaning of the MV🎐🍃 I am honestly sending you thousands words to show my gratitude🍀🍀🍀 for this reaction and your opinion. It is a very shocking and sincere comeback. It portrays some of the major problems of the current generation such as excessive use of the social media (social networking addiction), anxiety, emotional turmoil, eating disorder, suicide etc.🔝🌸 I respect her as an artist because she has a courage to address the issue in an appropriate manner.❤🌃🤫
it's more than that. she's also calling out the fact that the system itself is the noir we live in. that yes there are extreme cases but we all have to participate in the "like" economy to be a modern person. and that is very alienating. and that's the noir.
YES YOU REACTED TO HER I AM SO HAPPY😱😍😍❤️. This concept is soooooo goals, and the idea she wanst to show us with the song and the mv is pure gold. In love with NOIR😍❤️🖤
she said that nowadays people would do anything eventhough it is dangerous to seek attention. they post it in social media to seek attention from other people
Best MV of the year so far. The solo competition is really heating up now, Chungha releasing Gotta Go, Sunmi releasing Noir and Taemin releasing Want even Key with I Wanna Be ft. Soyeon. This year is THE year for solo artists.
I think the meaning behind this is that people are ready to do the stupidest things ever only to be famous and have attention from others... I’m in love with this song, she’s really an amazing artist ✨💜
I really cry everytime I see this genius mv as I have someone in my family who fall down in an addition to social medias, that hurts a lot. Addiction to social medias and the mirror image you want people to see from you is quite scary when it goes too far and here is Sunmi, delivering an awesome mv and song about this subject, I love her for making music which helps me a lot to overcome my hardships 💕 pour le commentaire en Français, je trouve qu'elle prononce bien Noir ~
this song is so mesmerizing and has a...fantasy vibe? not just the mv but the song...I think is the best out of all them by now.(just the rhythm is already good enough)
i also think she was recreating the life of a idol, cuz with every bad thing that happend to her in the MV her face was "im done with this shit" but every time she pulled out her phone to document it she put on a smile ... and i think shes trying to say how u have to fake it and make everyone think ur happy and grateful for being in the spotlight even tho behind the scenes its very depressing
I love how in one video Sunmi was able to convey and tackle important societal issues especially issues that are currently huge in today's generation but often side-eyed and heavily stigmatized. We need more artists like Sunmi.
I've loved sunmi for a long time and love all her songs. But what keeps making me love her more is that she makes such nice songs and mvs that pull you in, but also give out a huge message! She's a real artist, and I hope she will keep getting more succesfull and that her songs will help change a few things. FIGHTING SUNMI! 💕 and thank you for understanding what the mv was saying and reacting to her, you are the only reaction channel I watch and I loved this reaction~ Also my fav song of sunmi until now was Gashina, but Noir is definitely my fav rn, it made me feel like I was in another world from the start of the song, the beat and her voice just sucked me right in with a relaxing yet weird feeling, a real ARTIST 💖
I was so shook by the MV like I needed a take a second before going crazy n watching it again ...like bishhhh Sunmi came for the whole internet such confident Queen with such a powerful mssg like..I was literally getting heart attacks EVERYTIME she did something to her...gawd look at herrrr changing the whole K-pop game..I loved itttt😍😍😍
I love just how well Sunmi can express such a wide variety of things with ease. Especially when the message does have a deeper meaning to what's been normalized behavior on social media.
Honestly without even knowing about her "scandals" or any drama she was involved in I feel like this song is about something much, much bigger than the person Sunmi. She conveyed the feel and nature of social media in general. People do , say and portray things in their life to get attention. It causes mental illness and divides society in the way we use it nowadays. It´s genius to be honest.
Her message is not just that whatever happens in life you post it on social media, but also that you smile through it all which creates an unrealistic image of your life. At the end when her car is on fire, she looks depressed, but she still lifts up her phone and puts on a quick smile before taking the picture.
This MV shows about how people would do anything especially harming themselves to get attention on social media. I believe this is what the message that Sunmi is depicting here.
WAS WAIIIITING FOR YOUR REACTION! ... I know this is weird, but I almost cried through the MV its just too deep too REAL and dark in lots of ways , on how ppl are just too fake on social media begging for attention (like, subscribe, follow me) and just remembered how she lately burst crying in a live stream lately bcz of hate or smth which made it more touching to watch.. if I had to describe this in one word? ART. thats it, pure art!
You are definitely correct that Sunmi was taking a stab at the problems of excess social media in today's world. People are willing to go so far for the likes ans subscribes while denying their emotions (her emotionless photo with the burning car). TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF!
This is why I love your reactions. It’s nice watching someone else appreciate and feel the same about what I feel inside. Love you mamas.❤️ Sunmi did a phenomenal job. 😌
We are so quick to put our everyday life in social media in order to gain attention to be noticed. It's not a concept it is our sad reality. It is like a drug that we all have access to, so scary. Also that addiction can lead to anxiety, stress and depression as we only post "good" stuff and at the end you have this gap between the "perfect" world (your posts) and your real life. She did that! I really enjoy the MV and of course your reaction as well
I think it's partly because of the amount of English she uses in her songs, but I find when I do look up the meaning, I usually got the overall message just fine despite not understanding the slightest bit of Korean. But this MV definitely helps too. I can't help but think about this MV in the context of all the stuff that's been going on her with social media of late because boy does it seem like she's been going through some shit lately. The crying Vlive will not leave my mind. I feel like an underlying message to this song and MV may be about how idols put on this happy front and always insist everything is fine, because it's not really allowed or accepted for them to struggle. Even though they all go through a lot of hardships, and Sunmi has had more than most with her family life. Pretty much going back to when she was hospitalized after fainting after pre-filming a performance, I can't stop fucking worrying about her. I can't help but think the hospital scene in this is referencing that, as she and her company were all "oh she's fine, she's all good, nothing to see here" after that happened. But I'm also enjoying the artistic output and falling even more in love with her along the way. I got some fucking feels about this, let me tell you.
That was a brilliant MV. The fake smiles, and then the utterly unsmiling faces. The words written on her body, along with bandaids...wow. Not just calling out the over-usage of social media, but the way too many feel free to be cruel--to be cutting to an extent that one would need (emotional) bandaids. There's a difference between being honest about disliking something and being mean and catty and hateful....the latter seems to be a major trend. As if it's impossible to just say "well, sorry, not my thing, but good luck to you." Seems like anything negative, if someone disagrees, they get jumped on. Or if they post something on Instagram or Facebook or anywhere, that criticizes something, again, they get jumped on so fast, without any thought. Sunmi is my favorite female Korean solo artist. Absolute favorite. Need to go look up the Billboard article someone mentioned below (?).
it would make sense if the location was the same as the wonder girls video location because the girls were the ones who made their comeback happen and made the music video how they wanted, so the people who own the set's would have a relationship with sunmi already
When I watched this it made me feel that whenever someone witnesses something happening instead of seeing if they're ok or something they'll take pictures of whatever is happening and will post it. That's what I thought. Love your videos keep up the good work
Sunmi is different frome the other kpop stars she got message in this MV Your reaction is 👍🏻. And i like your accent first time i thought you are british 😁
my reaction was just exactly the same as yours, I was just enjoying the music when I realised that the lyrics, the MV and the whole music was meaningful. I really love this song and the message behind it.
Thanks for your astute observations. You got it 💯% right. Very deep. Sumni, you are B O L D ! A powerful ‘take’ on the fakery and illusion of the social-media age. SUNMI - So much courage and cutting-edge content. I wonder how many people who view this masterpiece will miss the meaning completely?
You need to react to Anda's "What you're waiting for". That girl's talent it's been underrated for years but now under YG's sub label Black Label she's making huge well deserved waves. Btw, no shade on Sunmi, she's an amazing queen and this video is ultra deep and beautiful. Is just that Anda is a super artist and R.Tee a super producer (the producer behind Blackpink hits) and reactors are still sleeping on their amazing video and song. Plus I've followed you for years and I'm almost 100% you're gonna love Anda, she has this feminine super strong vibe that you love, a truly YG queen. Please!
The message I got through the song is life isn't about getting likes or follows. Like nowadays people do things or post things for high likes or views. Like something bad could be happening in your life but you're still always gonna post it. The other message I got was that just because you post a picture and get high likes it doesn't mean that their life is perfect because most people make it seem like life is perfect but behind the phone someone is always going through something. Don't know if that made since but i explained it the best i could
Just a quick word from me: There's a type of media that the word 'Noir' can refer to. Black and white photography. Considering this was mostly about social media, and that there are black&white filters, perhaps the word Noir was chosen for that reason. As the English 'black' evokes no particular artistic imagery, whilst when you hear 'Noir', you might think of Noir films. Anyways, when I saw the filming of this video, I was so shook. Sunmi's MVs are always creative and beautiful, but Noir is a total masterpiece. Sunmi is a queen, and I would be grateful if she spilled her wine on me.
Love you reaction.... Enjoy SUNMI NOIR engsub Why are you always different? The pace is slower I can not help it. Turn around. You almost do. I've already seen This before I feel so high It's cloudy. While noir does mean “black” in French I think another way to look at it is from the way the word has been repurposed in the English language as “a genre of crime film or fiction characterized by cynicism, fatalism, and moral ambiguity” which also makes a lot of sense for the music video :)
Here is the English translation of the lyrics! Sunmi - Noir Why are we keep missing Walk is one tempo slower It passes so quickly I turn around when it's too late It's obvious so obvious I've already seen This (intentional capitalization) before I feel so high It fades away one two three Now I'm blind I don't know why Without even looking I know Bad (intentional capitalization) ending We are in noir There's no more with you We are in noir Now let it go Noir Noir You know what You're talking too much You've seen the cliché where You get hurt first Whatever if it's not gonna be something special Maybe this way is better Blah blah bullshhh I've already seen this before I feel so high It fades away one two three Now I'm blind I don't know why Without even looking I know Bad (intentional capitalization) ending We are in noir There's no more with you We are in noir Now let it go Noir Noir Feel like nobody else is here Feel like nobody else is here Wonder how you would express No need to take a look Cuz I know what is the next We are in noir There's no more with you We are in noir Now let it go Noir Noir
She basicily said some peopel are obsess about social media(likes, subs etc) that they so dumb they risking their life for that to have more likes......NO REAL LIFE.
MDR
Yesssssssssss! Very sarcastic... about social media..... # followme..... subscribe like.... people doing things just for attention... Sexy stuff, dangerous stuff, cute stuff.... indifference ( the cake burning ) SHE'S A QUEEN.... THIS MV HAVE A POWERFUL MEANING..... SHE POSTED A FEW RANDOM STUFF ON INSTAGRAM A PEOPLE GO CRY ABOUT... MAKING THEORYS.... I LOVE THIS MV.....
It was so dark that i got lowkey scared but the message is so good
Ikr !!! That just shows how good the MV is 👌

what a meaningful song to diss those people who crazy addicted to social media "like"!!!!
it's more than that. she's also calling out the fact that the system itself is the noir we live in. that yes there are extreme cases but we all have to participate in the "like" economy to be a modern person. and that is very alienating. and that's the noir.
She is really the queen I wish she got more promotion, cause I didn’t even know about her mv
She tells about the bad impact of social media .
Yeah it was kinda announced out of nowhere lmao
sunmi and taemin are the biggest role models in this universe.
Can't agree more
And they’re so iconic
FACTS
Please recommend me any from Taemin please!
YES YOU REACTED TO HER I AM SO HAPPY😱😍😍❤️. This concept is soooooo goals, and the idea she wanst to show us with the song and the mv is pure gold. In love with NOIR😍❤️🖤

Why are you always different?
The pace is slower
I can not help it.
Turn around.
You almost do.

that's why i love your reactions , we share the same thoughts lol , i can't add anything on what you said
Sunmi basically wrote a song for the people who always write this in the comments " if u agree like This!!" Those people are so annoying lol
'I feel like.."
Sunmi: You know what? You're talking too much

sooo ur from France...wow...thats cool...once again ur videos are sooo cool
Here is the English translation of the lyrics!
Sunmi - Noir
Why are we keep missing
Walk is one tempo slower
It passes so quickly
I turn around when it's too late
It's obvious so obvious
I've already seen This (intentional capitalization) before
I feel so high
It fades away one two three
Now I'm blind I don't know why
Without even looking
I know Bad (intentional capitalization) ending
We are in noir
There's no more with you
We are in noir
Now let it go
Noir Noir
You know what
You're talking too much
You've seen the cliché where
You get hurt first
Whatever if it's not gonna be something special
Maybe this way is better
Blah blah bullshhh
I've already seen this before
I feel so high
It fades away one two three
Now I'm blind I don't know why
Without even looking

THANK YOU FOR YOUR REACTION♡♡♡♡
watch her billboard korea interview before she release the MV ^^
good message overall
She basicily said some peopel are obsess about social media(likes, subs etc) that they so dumb they risking their life for that to have more likes......NO REAL LIFE.
Gg !
Yesssssssssss! Very sarcastic... about social media.....
# followme..... subscribe like.... people doing things just for attention...
Sexy stuff, dangerous stuff, cute stuff.... indifference ( the cake burning )
SHE'S A QUEEN.... THIS MV HAVE A POWERFUL MEANING.....
SHE POSTED A FEW RANDOM STUFF ON INSTAGRAM A PEOPLE GO CRY ABOUT... MAKING THEORYS.... I LOVE THIS MV.....
