You should look into antipsychotic withdrawal (acute and protracted). There's hardly any research compared to benzos or antidepressants. If you think nobody listens to benzo victims, imagine what happens to those coming off of antipsychotics who people believe they must be really "crazy".
There's definitely some need to adress the problems with neuroleptics. But they are psychiatry's holy cow... so most people don't want to touch the issue. The next problem is narcissism, once you are on neuroleptics, you're considered crazy, and the channel is called medicating "normal", not mentally burdened aka crazy people who deteriorate even more under the influence of psych drugs, who are not told about the side effects and withdrawal problems, or offered alternative treatments. We're collectively dodging the issue and I don't think this channel has the balls to adress this. I hope, they prove me wrong, though.

10years on, cold turkey taper 6years off the klonopin been through all sorts of therapy, no one around here understands the tapering process. I am hopeless and it destroyed my beautiful life. I was put on it for sleep and anxiety and they both are way worse, and I never had agoraphobia before the meds and I deal with it everyday. I am suffering more than I ever knew was possible. Help!
I want help too but the only doctors who even believe in withdrawl, are so expensive for us to even be able to afford them. There is no help. A lot of times I see these videos where people like her claim they are healed and they are not, so its hopeless. They either come on here and say how they e been protracted for 10 15 years and the still suffer neurological problems. How is that healing?
@@madelynHernandez5577People heal. Only 10-20% of benzo users have severe protracted withdrawals and those are mainly the ones that are went off the meds cold Turkey. A very slow taper is the way to go. Also once off the meds minerals and vitamins deficiency are a lot of the reasons people have symptoms. Diet and exercise can also assist in the healing process. And don’t forget lean on God and ask for his help! I hope you recover soon!

I was suffering with BIND when on the drug,now I'm tapering at my Gps insistance that I do so after 32 yrs of being on this chemical. Also been on Disability. I'm 60. So are Benzos. The first psych chemical I was told to, ".. take this.." inpatient, of course- NO Informed Consent-, was Librium, the first benzo. As someone stuck on SSRIs because of withdrawal, I applaud this channel's efforts to spread knowledge of these kind of issues with psychoactive meds that have been so normalized in the medical community as not causing dependency issues in people. All this is real in some people, even if the majority of folks don't deal with it.
I would argue majority of folks on these drugs do have issues but they do not attribute them to the drugs. Doctors do not recognize drug harm. They are guessing with the symptoms and misdiagnose to only issue more drugs.
My Endocrinologist told me I had a dysregulated autonomic nervous system from the Klonopin. I have been off for over 4 years and I did taper too fast because I had no guidance tapering. I still have symptoms. I was on .T mg Klonopin for 18 mos. Was prescribed for anxiety and sleep when my husband was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer and he passed away.
I have had years of chronic symptoms - look into TMS - it does not only apply to pain. I am tapering Benzo;s after 10 + yrs plus on, and am on an SSRI which I want to get off at some stage too. I wonder - and I am not saying I am right, but I wonder if tapering off and being on Benzo''s creates an hypersensitive hypervigilent nervous system which spits out tons of random symptoms that we place too much meaning to, just as all my various symptoms of TMS have. The more u freak out the more your brain creates symptoms. I have no idea how I will be when, or if, I get off Benzo's but I have to use TMS work to cope with any side effects or symptoms, and I know that the brain has the most amazing ability to heal itself . I believe sickness & fever & antibiotics in childhood (PANS/PANDAS) caused an overreaction reaction and my immune system to attack my brain. The damage it left pushed me to try and treat it with medications and I got hurt even more. That’s my theory anyway.
You need to get a lumbar puncture done to check for encephalytis. You are on the right track. I believe that benzos cause auto immune disease in many people and I too fully believe that those damaged are suffering from autoimmunity in the brain and CNS in the form of limbic encephalytis. We should connect to talk about this further as I am working with a neurologist to see what happened to me. I took .5 mg of xanax for sleeping (138 tablets within 12 months) and then a one year taper of valium from 10 mg to zero and I have been destroyed. I was an extremely healthy, very active individual before this disaster. It is absolutely shocking to me that there are tens of millions of people on the planet that have been effectively destroyed by this drug class and no one even talks about it. It is as with anything while suffering from dysfunction to the nervous system from a psychotropic drug of any kind - everyone is different. We've met people who did just fine and had no issues, and we've met people who had a setback from something they were given during the surgery. Most people try to see if they can avoid benzos altogether in the surgery, but that is up to the anesthesiologist, so you must consult w/ them ahead of time. Overall, many people avoid elective meds and procedures until they feel better and stronger and only do the ones that are absolutely necessary until they are better. You have to determine for yourself what is the best course for your own situation.
I had a mastectomy with propofol anesthesia but no pain meds after. All nerves in breast gone or cut so not much pain at all until healing and nerve regeneration.

I asked if i would have withdrawal, they said no. The weird thing is i didn't have any withdrawal. I was released on opioids though. I wonder now if opioids help benzo withdrawal?

Can you take a benzo for a few weeks to help you get off opiods? Or will you then have to taper ?
Most people can, but the FDA showed cases where it happened in as short as a week. So, proceed w caution. They’re best used intermittently

So, if u take benzos everyday for less than 2 wks, u won't get protracted withdrawals?
it's much less likely - although there are rare folks who get it after just 7-10 days
I did it for 10 days and am still having problems 2 years later.
