I relocated to Huntington, WV for my retirement, having lived most of my life in California. I have never regretted my decision to move to this beautiful area and wild and wonderful WV!😀🤩
I have made a list of what cities to live in when I graduate and WV is meeting a lot of my needs. I currently and in Las Vegas but am from Chicago and I miss the nature but I don’t miss the snow.
I am WV born and after living in So Cal and NC returned here to live. Note: Huntington has had a lot of issues with illegal drug trade. They are working on cleaning it up but while my kids were at Marshall U (no mention in video?) saw it first hand. Morganton is a college town. Known as the number one party school in the US.....know that going in. thx
The description of Charleston shows a picture of Richwood High school, which is 100 miles east of Charleston. It was demolished in 2017 after flooding.
I grew up in Parkersburg, 30 years ago the only good jobs required you to have a bachelor’s degree AND have an in at a chemical plant. Since I left the state has become an unemployed, junkies dream. Now days from what I’ve read , the town has been tearing down the buildings that made it reasonably cool to see.

With all respect to the creator, why wasn't Berkeley County (Martinsburg) on the list. Berkeley County is the fastest growing counties in the State. Berkeley County has good paying job openings. One can be in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia within 30 minutes.

Coal is dieing impacting the state from Clarksburg and south to the VA/KY border. I don't know where you're from but don't make your situation worse. Remember, there is no free lunch nor free shipping. Only move to WV if you love the land; it was not enough for me.

All are places that are alive, rebounding and have water, pro sports and good health care. All three seem to have your bases covered. I worked in Pasadena for a while. None have traffic like CA.
The cost of living is the absolute best in the country imo. Absolutely a great place to build your finances if you have a good income. That’s really the only pro bc depending where you live essentials can be miles away and the only things to do is get drunk at home , get drunk at the bar or go hiking.

I grew up in WV. Your information on average rent and home prices in the Charleston area is wildly outdated - they’ve gone up considerably in the last couple of years. The use of generic stock videos scattered throughout the entire video is a bit cheesy. WV as a whole is a beautiful state, but in the cities such as Charleston and Huntington you still have issues with crime, drugs, and unemployment.

If yard is not kept there is a fee. if you don’t trim bushes, junk in yard Rubbish Fee.. I hope this helps
