You seem to be struggling with diffining
    Types of thoughts.
    This may be helpful.
Thinking is only meant for mechanical thinking describing objects and facts.
Thoughts are not useful for knowing or understanding ourself.
Thats what feeling (not emotion) is for.
So when we try to understand ourselves by thinking we are already outside of or once removed from the emediate felt sense of existing … and that direct felt sence that is the sensing itself is not captured by thought or knowable as or by thought.
So actually you cannot think about yourself and get it right. Whilst the physical sensation of your existance is inherently all about you. That is the live and lived experience always now.
This mind you keep reffering to. What exactly are you talking about. There is no mind only thoughts activity. And there really are no thoughts, you cannot pin down a single thought. Even consetration on one idea is only achieved by repetition of thoughts about thouts about thoughts. Thoughts are only images which are not actually there.
Beliefs you talk about …you need some help there also.
You tell me your name or age and i choose to BELIEVE you. I dont know and i cannot know. This use of belief is harmless and what it is for to mechanically get through interactions with one another. But when you believe in anything spiritual, religious social ideas, or just in the idea that you are a lesser or greater person, then you harm yourself because you add this type of belief to building more identity. This is a dellusion about you which takes you out and away from that lived fact of you into assumptions that redifine you and you suffer seperation from yourself as you are.
This type of belief is harmful.
You dress up as a buddhst monk and belive you are that. The belief or thoyghts of the buddist concepts induce an experience in yourself . All meditaion techniques induce experiences aligned with the ideas inbuilt and repeated in thise techniques. Enlightenment begins to each novice as an ideal or idea and through repetion results in anothet thpught induce experience. But you are not a budhist or a monk and no one is enlightened. These ideas became believed and then FEEL known at a certain point. But being thought induce they are harmful beliefs that entrap the user in a thought induced state they then identify as.
What exists in its own right? What remains before thinking? As you correctly said… sensation!!!
Now stay there. Dont believe IN anything.
Stick with what you cannot NOT know because it is the lived ecperience of your own existance and the first point of directly knowing this is in what seems to us to be the body of me.
