I made this using pre quilted cotton from joann's and I love how it turned out! thank you so much for the step by step tutorial on the bag as well as the bows. I love how you embellished the pattern to make it your own. hoping to be able to do the same as I improve my sewing skills since i'm a beginner!
I have a pre quilted cotton as well - how did you do the bow tabs with it? I'm worried it'll be too much bulk! Also a beginner so maybe I'm overthinking it!
@@no.13babyi actually used a seam ripper to take apart the quilting and removed the batting! i used one piece of the fabric and once i sewed it into the strips for the bows it looked normal and you couldn’t see where the quilting lines were 👍 def was too hard to fold and sew with the batting

Thank you for this! Did you trim away the batting from the seam allowance before sewing your bias tape? I want the structure but I’m afraid it will make my bias tape sewing too challenging as a beginner.

Could you potentially put the bow tab on when you’ve just finished quilting before attaching to the lining?
Sure you can do it any way you want! I would just worry about it coming out straight/centered after assembling the whole bag. I also like the way it looks sewn through both sides of the bag.
8:53 when you press the strap with the batting inside, do you just use less pressure with your iron or a lower heat setting?
I do less pressure and less time. Just a quick once over!

Is the link to the batting the one for the bag only, with the strap one being a medium loft? Is it the same brand?
Yes I use the same brand that I linked for both. I do medium loft for the strap and high loft for the bag. But you could probably get away with using the same loft for both so you don't have to buy two kinds! I just had both on hand.
