The Japanese American National Museum is a wonderful opportunity to understand the historical issues we all face in a world of exclusion. This museum is a great destination for primary and secondary school children and is especially important for all people of the world
+christy sears Sorry for the delay in response! We offer a 30 minute tour for grades 1-3 which focuses primarily on immigration and community, while our older groups take the full hour tour which looks at the WWII incarceration. Other offerings for 2nd graders include storytime and origami. Please see our group visits page for more information about our offerings for school groups at janm.org/visit/groups

Would this be an appropriate field trip for 2nd Graders? Or best for older kids?
