The domino effect on the figures under construction. Lol. It’s a real problem. Brilliant looking work on this unit! The detail really pops on them and they’d look fantastic on any table anywhere. The basing is tops too. Well done!
Thanks mate. Hahaha I can’t even tell you how many times they just fell over before I managed to video them. They nearly got a lesson from a very large hammer.
Leon mate these look flipping brilliant. I'm not a fan of the green they have used on the box art but the green you have just just makes them look awesome. Also live the darker blue on the fellas for the command stand. Im trying to stay away from napoleonics at the moment but your noth helping 🤣👍
Thanks mate. Yeah I’m pleased with how they turned out. Great detail on them that made them easier to paint than I expected. The Napoleonic route is a slippery slope 🤣
Hi Leon you are clearly in denial of your love for Hussars, I look forward seeing your coming out of the closest video, lol, all the best me old mate, Garry
Lovely figures and a really superb paint job on those. The regiment you chose to do has a fabulous choice of colours 👍. Phwoar! You need a brigade of those at least! 😀
The overall trousers could be buttoned over the parade pantaloons but which were to be worn on any given occasion probably be subject to an order of the day.
@@leont66wargaming31 those spare hussars' overall legs could be used with the left overs from the the Austrian cavalry set; Either the crestless or crested helmets and either the dragoon/chevauleger or cuirassier torsos. With a few Austrian horse sprues, that's twelve troopers for £14.
those are awesome! Well done man. And if you think the Hessen-Homburg Hussars are colourful, you should google Hessen-Kassel Hussars. We love our garish hussars in Hessen :P
Thanks mate. It all depends on the details. Sometimes I glue them on but like with these Hussars there was too much detail that’d of been impossible to get to if they’d been glued
Fantastic work Leon. Watching too many of your videos, started getting all my Napoleonic cavalry out and I’ve got two boxes of these on order to start with. You mentioned the dress breeches and overalls, are there parts to make two complete versions of the riders, campaign and dress? The British Dragoons and French Chasseurs Cheval have parts to make two of each rider (apart from command) so you just need the horses to get two complete sets (which is what I’m doing, ordering horse sprues from Perry) wondered if it was the same with this set?
Thanks Lee. Not with this set. You only get the one torso. I’ve done the same with my British light dragoon’s. Although I still haven’t painted the 2nd lot yet. Not even sure where I’ve put them now lol. I’ll probably end up getting another box of these at some point. After I’ve painted everything else first though. Still a long way to go but luckily I haven’t got the tedium demon yet.
Oh well, still a great set. I’m using my box of Dragoons to make Portuguese cavalry. Looked through the Chasseurs Cheval set the other day and found that you can make Chasseurs or campaign dress Hussars so I’m ordering French horse sprues as well.
Ah cool. That’s a good idea. I might copy you on the Portuguese cav. Next year’s project is to finish of my peninsula British and Portuguese allies. I don’t have any of those Perry French Cav boxes. Like the idea you can get more options from it. I’ll try to remember when I get round to buying some. Could be a while yet though lol. French aren’t on the radar until 2023 hahaha. Although I’ll have to paint up at least one infantry brigade before then or they’ll be massively outnumbered lol.
I did make one Portuguese cavalryman up using a British horse with a Chasseurs Cheval rider, because I thought they had the same uniform. Looking at it though, it doesn’t have the riding gloves that the British Dragoons and Portuguese wore. The shako is more like the Chasseurs one so I’m going to use British Dragoons in campaign overalls with a Chasseurs head. Maybe file the moustache off.
I was going to but the box doesn’t have the arm to carry the standard unfortunately and I didn’t have a spare one. I might add one later and buy a metal standard holder
Fantastic coverage of this box set and fantastic painting 😁👍
Thanks mate 🙂
Nice unboxing paint and basing.
Thanks buddy
They look very nice. That green is very attractive
Thanks Peter 😊
Cracking job Leon. Nice minis and you have done them proud
Thanks Dom
Those are lovely looking hussars And the basing looks great
Thanks buddy
Looking forward to the speed painting horses video, great work
Thanks Steve. Yeah I really must get around to doing that video
Cracking job on them Leon, they look brilliant
Thanks mate. I think the key was I took my time over them. Spread the painting out so I didn’t get bored
Great hussar eye candy!
Thanks mate 😊
WOW! Unbelievebal great paint job! Hope i get mine today,....cant wait for them....
Thanks buddy. Nice. They’re nice to paint. The details are nice and crisp
Really nice work. I now understand why the Austrian hussar horses are not available as a seperate sprue. Lovely paint work.
Thanks buddy
Cracking unit mate and excellent paint job!! Love the green jackets too 👍. Would love to see the horse tutorial
Thanks mate. I’ll try get one done next week
Really nice work mate. They are a great Cavalry box.
Thanks buddy.
Very nicely done Leon!
Thanks Andrew
WOW Wicked work m8 . I can't wait to paint my three.
Cheers Nik. Only 3 lol
Good one..
Cheers mate
Amazing!
Thanks buddy
Top job - thanks, i am a bit less scared of hussars now 🙂
Thanks Norm. Yeah the details on these were nice and pronounced so made them a lot easier to paint
Very nice
Thanks Paul
Excellent paint work mate. Absolutely top drawer. I think you need to a lie down in a darkened room and put hussars out of your mind mate.🤪
Thanks Paul. 🤣😂 yes definitely mate. I need to remember, Just because I got through these ok doesn’t mean I like painting Hussars 🤣😂
The domino effect on the figures under construction. Lol. It’s a real problem. Brilliant looking work on this unit! The detail really pops on them and they’d look fantastic on any table anywhere. The basing is tops too. Well done!

Interesting vid mate👍
Cheers mate 🙂
Nice work Leon. That’s two things you said you’d never do - hussars and unboxing videos. But as it turns out, they go together very nicely. 😉😂
Thanks mate. 🤣 in my defence it’s just the endless plastic sprue unboxings that I don’t like/do. It’s ok to do them as long as one paints something 😂🤪

Nice paint job. The embossed sabretaque is a bit of a game changer.
Thanks buddy. Yes definitely. A big plus for me. My freehand is terrible lol
THANKS BUDDY
Thanks you mate
Awesome Austrian Hussars, truly superb!
Thanks Phil
Thank you! A paint job Well done! It seems like a great set too. I hope the russian/Prussian cavalry comes out as good from the Perrys.
Thanks Andreas. Yes me too although I’ll try not to be too tempted just yet lol. Need to get some of the backlog painted first
@@leont66wargaming31 Oh that little detail 😂 So many Perry boxes in my drawers.
🤣😂. It’s an addiction 😂🤣
They came out amazeballs Leon. Top work. Thanks for a look at the sprue. The new Perry stuff seems the next level.
Thanks Cal. Yeah I really like them and they weren’t too bad to paint. I have a box of the new French infantry. I’ll have to get them painted up soon.
Hi Leon you are clearly in denial of your love for Hussars, I look forward seeing your coming out of the closest video, lol, all the best me old mate, Garry
Cheers mate. Hahaha I might even be tempted with some French now lol.
These look very nice models from the Perry’s, good idea not gluing the rider on before painting. Lovely work as usual Leon, truly awesome mate 😁👍
Thanks mate 😀
14mins, what are you doing to me Leon? The green cav guys look really good. Well done.
Lol. All the time I was filming it I kept thinking Paul’s not going to be happy hahaha.
Thanks mate
That is some beautiful work Leon, absolutely top work
Thanks Justin
Lovely figures and a really superb paint job on those. The regiment you chose to do has a fabulous choice of colours 👍. Phwoar! You need a brigade of those at least! 😀
Thanks mate. 🤣a whole brigade would definitely finish me off 😂
Have you done a painting tutorial on how you do horses? They look great leon.
Thanks buddy. I have done one for speed painting black horses but not for the Brown ones. I’ll try get it done when I paint the dragoon’s.
outstanding work, deffo gonna get some hussars for my austrian collection. you have done a fantastic paint job on them
Thanks mate. It’s a great box. Really nice detail
Molto belli complimenti
Thanks buddy

Great idea. I’ll have to check through my bits box and hope I haven’t thrown them away.
@@leont66wargaming31 might need to paint on the ends of the coat tails.
Yep or I might try green stuff, but not sure I have the skills for that lol.
oh man , you done a first class job their leon , i want to paint them up too although the hussars with red shako and blue uniform come a close second
Thanks buddy. Yep I might do them if I decide to paint another unit

Great video Leon and a wonderful unit. Beautiful work as always.
Can you tell me what you used for the red? I really like that look. Take care
Hi Dan. Sorry for the late reply
I used army painter Dragon red as the base colour and highlighted with Vellejo flat red.
@@leont66wargaming31 Perfect thanks Leon!
If I get time I’ll do a painting guide.
Excellent work! Do you paint the horses with the rider attacked, or do you paint them separate then glue together?
Thanks mate. It all depends on the details. Sometimes I glue them on but like with these Hussars there was too much detail that’d of been impossible to get to if they’d been glued
