      But is a recipe for birds nests at your reel because it is direct to the reel as the line within the feeder swivel just rotates so on the end of the twizzle you should attatch a swivel. If you don't believe me just look at the end when he holds it up

      Hello Alien! Yeah me too and worked a treat at the weekend and had a fantastic days fishing! Considering the drop in temperature I didn't except to catch much but thankfully the water had colour in it and my 1st 5 carp I had in 5 casts the 2nd and 3rd pulling my tip around while sinking the line 😆 . I even caught 4 on a top kit I quickly got out of my bag as ide been flicking a few dead maggots every now and then down to the rushes to my left. I only grabbed a top kit as a creature was down there with half it's back out of the water and although fish can look bigger in the water but I'm sure that fish is the biggest I've ever seen. nice video. one thing, would it not be better to use a shorter hook length so the bait stays by the feeder?

  • @MicSokol
    @MicSokol 3 роки тому

    This rig tangles the hook length on the retrieve, if you have no fish on the hook. The only way around it is slow retrieve, which is not practical in long casts. Thank you for sharing!

    • @AndrewsKnots
      @AndrewsKnots  3 роки тому +1

      From what you are saying, the bait is the problem. Surely if you would cast out without a bait on the hook and retrieve you wouldn't see any twisted hooklink.. Basically, you need to thicken your hooklink OR use different baits OR work out how to put a hookbait on the hook to reduce the spin/twist.
      Cheers

    • @MicSokol
      @MicSokol 3 роки тому

      @@AndrewsKnots Thank you for your reply, I use mostly maggots, dependable on the hook size I use 1, 2 or 3 maggots, hooklink wise I use 0.10, 0.12, 0.14 and sometimes 0.16. On a short 10-12 cm hoolink there are no tangles but since I fish in silty lake beds this is not good as the hook will be in the mud. I agree that the thicker leader will help but 0.16 is too stiff for small hooks and doesn't look natural. Nowadays, I use mostly the paternoster rig that you described, I have less tangles and fewer parts to make it. Keep up the good work!

  • @Adam-hr7vs
    @Adam-hr7vs 3 роки тому +1

    Great videos. I tried doing the twisty thing as you described 'opposite directions' and you get no twist. They just cancel each other out. I watched closely and I think you are twisting the line with both thumbs in the 'same' direction' (from right to left over the fingers).

    • @AndrewsKnots
      @AndrewsKnots  3 роки тому

      When line is doubled-up, it may look that it's the same direction.
