Former diplomat here. The job is not like in the movies. You’re basically just an officer at the foreign ministry with knowledge of languages and foreign affairs. During the span of your career you’ll get assigned to work in some of your country’s embassies abroad and maybe will become ambassador one day (unless those are politically appointed in your country).
Hello, I am a high school student and I aspire to be a diplomat and work in the UN, as a former diplomat, how did you do it? Do you mind sharing some of your journey? It would be greatly appreciated
Hi, thanks a lot for this vital information...... This has been my dream. I have a question. My wife and I have played the Diversity Visa. I am from an eligible country. But my wife is from an ineligible country. We both played it separately with my country as our chargeability country. When we are selected which passport will my wife hold for the interview. The one of my country or that of her own country? thanks in advance for your reply
