I see the combination of the Three-Cornered Hat and this masterpiece, the same as Picasso's combination of the Old Fisherman and Guernica. Two masterful expressions of a genius at different times in their lives.

It's interesting, second movement (polytonal) is often compared to cubism (different angles of an object drawn in the same image).
