At 7:40 you said parallel minor when I think you meant RELATIVE minor
The parallel minor to E major is e minor
The relative minor to E major is C# minor

Thank you so much for all of this. I'm starting playing guitar again after years of just taking out 1 hour per year to repeat the same 3,4 songs I've learned to play. And having done almost 10 years of music theory and 8 of piano younger has always make me feel like a fraud. Because I was. I was pretending playing the guitar (and the piano). All I was doing was mimics and repeating. Not a bad thing per se, but not what I really inteded to do.
Last months I've been studying everything again, thanks to the amazing content here on UA-cam. Besides the simple fact that I could listen to your smooth voice for hours :D, I'm starting to understand what the guitar neck, the piano and music has always been about. Thank you. A lot.

    Mind blowing video.
Lots of time I came across with this theory but I never completely understood.
But this time my concept became clear.
    Thumbs up.

I will have to go back to this video once I'm better but I've been watching your vids so far and I love everything. Whether it's the subtle jokes, overall amazing explanation, good lighting or the luscious beard. Also I love the tele and strat colors. I wouldn't have taken them at first pick but now they are really growing on me.

Incredible video man. Great for someone who has a basic understanding of scales and looking for more detail on how to pair chords with scales.

    Love your lessons.
After 30+ years of music theory ignorance
I basically gave up on guitar... that is... until I watched your 1st theory lesson. Great explanations , engaging and humorous.
Sincere thanks for your efforts... i think i will eventually succeed because of your encouragement... definitely helps to visualize understanding the relationship between notes and chords and music.
    You're a great teacher.

Thanks David I have had a wonderful day watching your seven theory sessions. You really have excelled yourself in breaking the essentials into something I can follow and understand. Your past rich experience as a teacher has really paid off as demonstrated ìn your solid patient delivery. I guess I could have been more succinct; as in AWESOME!!

This cool series on music theory now leaves you unsettled.. the real fun begins when you break out of diatonic progression.. but how to break out!
