Thanks Al! The Aventurine has been the #1 seller from day one. A bit of a surprise to be honest, but delighted that people seem to like it. Including you mate! Cheers, Jody
I wanted to check out the actual Malachite dial I would receive - I don't want a curved version of pattern but your team could not guarantee that. I get that - there is only so much individualization one can provide. Also: if you produce quartz versions I will buy a minimum of two.
I had already ordered the Aventurine on a jubilee, but now I've also gone and ordered the enamel white on an oyster as well so I've got a genuine GADA as well as dressy option combo. I think I might need to seek professional help
Good on you for being one of the reviewers for the watch. I also agree that it is on the dressier side, but that’s what I was looking for. Going with the white enamel with the J Style and will be used as my “dress” watch. I have to wear a suit for my work on many occasions, but I never had a dedicated dress watch, but this will definitely fit that bill. Thanks for the great review!
I just ordered the purple fumé dial on the jubilee bracelet because the purple helix dial was sold out. The white enamel was tempting. Also just ordered the purple Origin 38 because the pink and light blue ones were sold out. These will be nice additions to my collection. Thanks for the thorough review especially the close-up shots.
Very thorough review , Thumbs up given! At first thought Jody was spreading himself too thin with all the dial and bracelet options he might be over saturating the market. But when I went to order, I found that I couldn't decide on just one so I had to buy two. I see what you did there Jody, by offering so many distinct and different configurations and low early bird prices many buyers will purchase multiples. You clever bastard.
Love nkuwan the way you show it! You really focus on showing off the watch. I don't think any other UA-camr can show off watches in as much detail as you.
It is a special watch this one. I wish i had room in my watch box for it, but I can't bear to part with the dozen I have in there now (one in, one out rule). I think this is a better release than the Origin. Hopefully they do an Origin v2 fixing a few minor things, but for this one - I can't think of anything they can do to improve it, other than a display caseback. I'd like to also see a black+gilt dial, and a limited edition meteorite dial. One question though - does the oyster bracelet have a half-link option? Oyster bracelets without half links can be a lottery getting a good fit. Jubilee bracelets are a guaranteed good fit though as every link is like an oyster half link.
@@Badpak. I do have mine and it is GREAT! The fume effect is stunning in the sunlight. Doing a slow rotation around and around revels wonderful highlights and the same can occur in a room when playing with the available lighting. I have received many compliments on it. Even non-watch people take notice. I have 17 watches but tend to wear this one the most. I think the others are getting jealous. ;-) LOL
@@Badpak. Thanks for the questions! For time, it is around 3-5 seconds fast per day. The sound question has always baffled me. I see that sort of discussion in so many threads. I truly don't know what they are talking about. First off, my hearing is exceptionally good. I must hold my watches (17 mechanicals) to my ear to hear anything when I am winding them. My Ascent makes no sound that I can hear - unless I try. You should not have any issues with sound. To add to the visuals, I got the J-style bracelet and it really catches the light and helps bring even more presence to the overall look of the piece. I hope you enjoy your watch as much as I enjoy mine. 🙂
@@stephenschroeder6567 Thanks again for your answer! I am still on the fence, but i think it will be the same one you got. I asked for the sound, because i once had a Seiko that i could hear ticking when it was 50 cm away from my ear. I don't know why it did, but it bugged me pretty hard and i had to get rid of it.
Well when the reviewers have different lights which throw out different spectrums of light they will look a little different. And then they have different cameras which might throw it off some more. And while writing this I saw the lume section and the black light really shifted the color of the dial due to the uv light to activate the lume- just ignore that section for color. Really, just trust the pictures on the Erebus site since the professional photographer used should know what he is doing.
The prices are plus shipping, ............plus, taxes, plus DHL charge for collecting the taxes. You sound like you are in the UK, so can you be the first to give a 'through the door/on your wrist' price for us fellow Brits ; )
I think using “enamel” when it’s more likely lacquer is kind of misleading. Ain’t no way you’re getting a grand feu enamel dial for $400 😂 EDIT: it’s a very cool watch and I’m going to preorder the adventurine

Does the blue helix have more of an indigo hue? It looks like it has a small shade of red at certain lighting angles.

I hear ya. I’m in almost the same spot. I have room for this one and one more in my collection and then one has to leave before another can come in.
Black gilt on a spiral dial or a golden flecked mineral dial with a Jubilee or President bracelet would look phenomenal
There's a slide adjust on the clasp that should help with this.
Dozen is my limit also. Hahah.
Truth be told...it is an almost perfect automatic watch! It shows that they know what watch lovers want!

These look terrific, but IMHO, they should have done 38mm max with about 36.5mm or so optimal.
How small are your wrist? The actual measurements of the case is 38.6 so it should fit.
It'd make more sense for a dressy... Hope they'll make another smaller batch like the Origins
Suggestion - put a pirece of tape over the recording red light on your camera. It's a bit distracting (must be the cat in me)
The erebus name font would have look better if it was the same as the asent font on the dial
I dig that green dial one

Is the adventure purple with sparkles?
The aventurine looks black in person. The macro footage with lights on it shows a deep purple though
