    Is this Calc AB or BC, or College calculus. Im seeing topics from Calc AB, but im realizing that we haven’t quite delved into these specific topics in such depth.

    • @turksvids
      @turksvids  4 місяці тому

      These are AB type questions BUT they’re the things my students are still getting wrong and I expect pretty much all of them to get a 5. So this is the tougher stuff. Don’t forget there will be lots of easier things as well!

  • @aaravshah3843
    @aaravshah3843 4 місяці тому

    I think I know what you were trying to do for #11.
    “Rate of change of g(x)” is synonymous to g’(x). So really, the question is asking for the average of g’(x) on [1,5]. But g’(x) is just f(x), due to the fundamental theorem. So really, it’s asking for the average of f(x) on [1,5], which is literally the given information. That’s why you get 12 lol

    • @turksvids
      @turksvids  4 місяці тому

      Yeah, that's what happened. I didn't notice/think about it while writing the question so I was surprised!

  • @ashvinjaishankar3813
    @ashvinjaishankar3813 4 місяці тому +1

    For 12, I think because g’ = f, the average value of g’ is the same as average rate of change of g

    • @turksvids
      @turksvids  4 місяці тому

      Yeah, that's exactly it. I kind of under thought it while writing the problem and just went with it.

    • @turksvids
      @turksvids  4 місяці тому +3

      Definitely. These are the things my students are still struggling with and I'd say that most of my students are on track to easily get a 5. There's a whole lot of easy/straight forward questions on the exam overall.

    • @YoungPhysicistsClub1729
      @YoungPhysicistsClub1729 4 місяці тому +1

      @@turksvids i agree, with the abundance of prep material for frqs, that would be easier to approach.
      mcqs on the other hand are hard to find study materials for. out of 45 mcqs, I believe around 35 or so will be quite simple, maybe only around 10-12 questions will be challenging. Would u agree?

    • @turksvids
      @turksvids  4 місяці тому +1

      I agree. If you do well on the FRQs and get all the "easy" ones you're pretty set for a 5. There are always a few MC that are tricky, but just enough to make sure not too many people get a perfect score.

    how did you solve the limit on question 3?

    • @turksvids
      @turksvids  4 місяці тому +1

      i looked at coefficients of the highest power of n in the numerator and denominator since both are the same degree (n^3). you can also use l'hopital's but it's more work. you can also expand and divide by the highest power of n in the denominator and then take the limit to infinity (the first option i gave is the fastest. it's kind of an algebra 2 type thing.)

    Turk in question 9 i rlly didnt understand how the last one is false , in mcq we keep using the limit of derivatives to check if it is differentiable , so how here it is false?

    • @turksvids
      @turksvids  4 місяці тому

      I'd say just keep doing exactly what you're doing and don't worry about that one. It's just an annoying fact that would only ever come up on a question that specifically looks like that practice question. It would never show up on FRQs or really any other multiple choice. That's the kind of thing someone might need to worry about if they're trying to get a perfect score, which is amazing but also not necessary.

  • @chasehartmann9332
    @chasehartmann9332 4 місяці тому

    When you are evaluating limits tending towards infinity could you just use basic limit rules with plugging in infinity, or is there a certain need for the extra work. Just wording I hope to get a 5 on the AB exam.

    For 3 how did you find the exact answer

    • @izakkrakora
      @izakkrakora 4 місяці тому +1

      He looked at the leading terms of the limit, being n^3, and multiplying the coefficients together. This works out to be 3(n)(4n^2)/2n^3 which simplifies to 12n^3/2n^3. From there, he can find the limit as n approaches infinity to be 6

    wait so r u sure we can simply say that f’ has relative extrema as a justification for points of inflection bc i feel like my teacher taught us to be more specific (i.e, since f’’ is 0 or undefined at these points and changes monotony)

    Hey Thank you for the video!
    I have a question though, would saying "f has points of inflection at the points is b/c f double prime of x changes signs on those points" be a good justification? I always justify my work like that.

    • @turksvids
      @turksvids  4 місяці тому

      The big caveat there is that we don’t have f” so we want to base our answers on f’ as much as possible. “f’ changes increasing to decrease (or vice versa) therefore f” changes sign” feels like a better justification to me than just jumping to f”. As a grader I would wonder “how do we know about f” when we just have f’?” (I also really overthink some of these things and you might be fine with what you write, but you’re definitely fine with what I wrote!) good luck with your studies!!!
