It’s weird but I never even saw Garfield as Peter Parker or Spider-Man. The whole time watching both movies I was trying to convince my brain that I was watching Spider-Man but it never clicked like it did with Tobey and Tom Holland. I guess that’s a testament to how awful Garfield was for the role.

Toby was good for that time. I remember being fascinated by Spiderman then. He's what started the whole superhero fever for most of us. That was followed by Iron Man etc and the Dark Knight series. I think the Toby Spiderman movies were what started the whole super hero movie trend and was the first good rebooted franchise.
Tobey's movies are the best out of them all. It was the first love action Spider-Man I had ever seen. I went and saw all of them in theaters so they are very nostalgic for me. Plus Kirsten Dunst..... Need I say more?
I think the problem with saying Tobey has to look like a teenager is the fact that in the movie he quickly graduated from High School and went to college. Legally, he was playing an adult.
Toby was a perfect Peter Parker. Just never was that great of a spidey. Garfield was the a great Spider-Man yet not a great peter Parker. Tom Holland has nailed both Spidey and Peter.

Did you not watch Homecoming. He learned how he doesn’t need he suit to be a hero. It was Tony’s choice to give him back the suit because he learned his lesson. He also got consequences in Far from Home
If it were between Andrew, Tom, or Tobey, I'd put Andrew Garfield on last. His part on peter parker doesn't seem right. Peter Parker is supposed to be a nerdy high school/college kid while Garfield was a more popular-ish type of Peter Parker. Tom and Tobey got that role on point. And for the Spider-Man part, Garfields role got it all wrong. He's too cocky to be a "friendly neighborhood Spider-Man". Both tobey and holland got that role on point.

Nathan Sazon Tempted to agree with you. But Peter Parker isn't always awkward, he grows and develops. For some reason producers have Peter pan syndrome when it comes to spider-man. In the comics spider man isn't even in high school that long. Like 95 percent of spidey's villains are met after highschool. Toby failed the grown up test, as was seen in the third movie. He just wasn't edgy enough to play the role of the black suit symbiotic venom spidey. However I do think Garfield would have been the perfect adult Spider-Man. Because spidey grows out of his awkwardness, and becomes very confident and witty. In the comics he's six feet tall adult, who has had more girlfriends than any other marvel hero. Literally there's a book dedicated to the history of his romances. Plus Garfield actually resembles Peter Parker in stator. Had he been handled properly he probably would have topped this list.

What makes Spider-Man an appealing super hero is how different Peter acts when he is himself and when he is Spider-Man. Tobey was a perfect Peter Parker, he had the nerdy, awkward character down pat. Andrew was the best Spider-Man, he had the quick one-liners, and a cocky attitude. Neither could get a strong grasp on the other half of the character. This is where Tom splits the difference, he is not quite as funny as Andrew nor is he as nerdy as Tobey.

I just find it extremely unfortunate that Tom's spiderman is a carbon copy of Iron Man, which really puts a stick into the story we grew up with, or atleast I did, Spiderman does not have an AI in his suit he is just smart, but flawed aswell, with this suit, it just makes him seem like a juvenile kid who's only super powers are his spidey powers and his AI, Peter Parker was intelligent, this is one of the things I disliked about Homecoming... Honestly, I feel like Tom Holland was very deserving of the role. Rather than staying in uniform with all the previous Spider-Man adaptations, he was able to develop a new version of Spider-Man that just seemed to suit the series and the movies. The comic book aversion of Spider-Man is great and all and both of the other actors did an amazing job, however tom really did an amazing job and is deserving of the role by all means. His Spider-Man was probably my favorite just because it felt more genuine to me. Before y'all get upset at me or anything, please remember that everyone has their own opinions. They're all good actors, I just felt like Tom had the most genuine and realistic adaptation of Spider-Man 😊
elitecrafter perez Yeah, I understand what you mean. However there were so many comics of Spider-Man that I feel like each individual comic gave Peter a new "version", of sorts. In general, Tom was able to best incorporate all of those traits as well as adding increased value to the story of Spider-Man and how he interacts with the other MIC characters. It's not as much based off the comics themselves as it is based off of interactions that we didn't really see from Andrew, and interesting/ meaningful interactions are one of the basic elements to create a loveable character, in film or otherwise.

I gonna have to disagree. People who said Tobey is better only because of the nostalgia factor, and that original Spiderman series is one of the first super heroes movies. But, in terms of Spiderman, Tom is the best and most perfect actor for it. He is childish and always seems to mock the enemies just like how the comic book Spiderman should be, as well as being a nerd Peter Parker is. He is the perfect combination of both. What I don't like about this movie is how Peter is too dependent on TS, especially for the suit. He is smart enough BUILD IT BY HIMSELF, not by being TS's little bitch. That is what make him so cool. Tobey is NOT the best Spiderman. He is too wimpy and serious. He is a good Peter though, gotta say. But, he isn't portraying the Spiderman persona very well. So people should really stop saying that Tobey is best just because he is one of the firsts. Tom is such a great actor, and it feels like Spidey walk out from the comics since he balance the Peter/Spider perfectly. I can't wait to see how Tom will portray him in the future.

If it were between Andrew, Tom, or Tobey, I'd put Andrew Garfield on last. His part on peter parker doesn't seem right. Peter Parker is supposed to be a nerdy high school/college kid while Garfield was a more popular-ish type of Peter Parker. Tom and Tobey got that role on point. And for the Spider-Man part, Garfields role got it all wrong. He's too cocky to be a "friendly neighborhood Spider-Man". Both tobey and holland got that role on point.

Nathan Sazon Tempted to agree with you. But Peter Parker isn't always awkward, he grows and develops. For some reason producers have Peter pan syndrome when it comes to spider-man. In the comics spider man isn't even in high school that long. Like 95 percent of spidey's villains are met after highschool. Toby failed the grown up test, as was seen in the third movie. He just wasn't edgy enough to play the role of the black suit symbiotic venom spidey. However I do think Garfield would have been the perfect adult Spider-Man. Because spidey grows out of his awkwardness, and becomes very confident and witty. In the comics he's six feet tall adult, who has had more girlfriends than any other marvel hero. Literally there's a book dedicated to the history of his romances. Plus Garfield actually resembles Peter Parker in stator. Had he been handled properly he probably would have topped this list.

I grew up watching Toby and thought nobody could replace him. But Tom just is Spiderman, he looks and acts the right age and is just the perfect match. I still love Toby though.
I just find it extremely unfortunate that Tom's spiderman is a carbon copy of Iron Man, which really puts a stick into the story we grew up with, or atleast I did, Spiderman does not have an AI in his suit he is just smart, but flawed aswell, with this suit, it just makes him seem like a juvenile kid who's only super powers are his spidey powers and his AI, Peter Parker was intelligent, this is one of the things I disliked about Homecoming... I think Andrew was the best Spider Man, the humor was spot on and his impression worked, now Amazing spiderman had its own issues, such as the villains, like Rhino, though I still think Amazing spider man was the best spider man we have seen. :P

Honestly, I feel like Tom Holland was very deserving of the role. Rather than staying in uniform with all the previous Spider-Man adaptations, he was able to develop a new version of Spider-Man that just seemed to suit the series and the movies. The comic book aversion of Spider-Man is great and all and both of the other actors did an amazing job, however tom really did an amazing job and is deserving of the role by all means. His Spider-Man was probably my favorite just because it felt more genuine to me.
Before y'all get upset at me or anything, please remember that everyone has their own opinions. They're all good actors, I just felt like Tom had the most genuine and realistic adaptation of Spider-Man 😊

In general, Tom was able to best incorporate all of those traits as well as adding increased value to the story of Spider-Man and how he interacts with the other MIC characters. It's not as much based off the comics themselves as it is based off of interactions that we didn't really see from Andrew, and interesting/ meaningful interactions are one of the basic elements to create a loveable character, in film or otherwise.
Basically, Tom Holland is the best Peter Parker, but Andrew was the best Spider-Man.

I gonna have to disagree. People who said Tobey is better only because of the nostalgia factor, and that original Spiderman series is one of the first super heroes movies.
But, in terms of Spiderman, Tom is the best and most perfect actor for it. He is childish and always seems to mock the enemies just like how the comic book Spiderman should be, as well as being a nerd Peter Parker is. He is the perfect combination of both. What I don't like about this movie is how Peter is too dependent on TS, especially for the suit. He is smart enough BUILD IT BY HIMSELF, not by being TS's little bitch. That is what make him so cool.
Tobey is NOT the best Spiderman. He is too wimpy and serious. He is a good Peter though, gotta say. But, he isn't portraying the Spiderman persona very well.
